Winterfest Returning in 2017

Just announced from Kings Island, along with Mystic Timbers and some Soak City improvements, will be the return of the one, and only... Winterfest!! If you are a Gold or Platinum Pass holder, you get into the event FOR FREE! How cool is that? Are you excited? I know I am. I'll be excited to experience Winterfest for the very first time!

^^Same here! I have always wanted to experience WinterFest but never got to...until 2017.

Best of all, I can experience it for free... I would love to go ice skating on the Royal Fountains!!!!

Depending on how much they want to spend on lights and decorations and such, I'm thinking the train ride could be spectacular.

Which rides do you all think will be open during Winterfest? (we obviously know the carousel & train will be open)

Probably just those two. Most rides can't run in the cold. Maybe we will see Boo Blasters with a Christmas theme but I doubt it.

In the past, the dark ride during the time was open for all winterfest. Smurfs Enchanted Voyage, Phantom Theater, and Scoobys Haunted Castle were all open for winterfest except with only slight differences, mostly in the queue line but the ride for all three were pretty much the same. There is a picture on kiextreme.com that shows Scoobys Castle during Winterfest. I hope that Boo Blasters would be open as that would attract even more people and it could be slightly modified but still stick to its theme as well. I would love to see that! Hopefully the park will consider something like that to add even more to the event. Very exciting news and really cool that its free for Gold Pass members. Though I'm still probably more excited for Mystic Timbers, one thing at a time! MaestroJr

They've started adding more things to the park to advertise Winterfest

And signs in Rivertown and Action Zone (I forgot to check closer to see if the Action Zone ones were duplicates or different)

They are decorating the area over the entrance

All of intentional street has Christmas lights. The fountain has lights added and tower gardens has these giant candy canes where they installed all the green boxes and footers recently.
