Glad you had fun what was your favorite scene?
-
Day two of it not being open I feel bad for those who made special trips to ride, I’ve been on it already a bunch but am still curious what the deal is
-
In times like this I wish the park would say something to else to let us know what the deal is, makes it hard on the outside looking in
-
I really hope it’s open by Saturday
-
Really part of the ceiling collapsed? I didn’t noticed that last Thursday
-
I’ve heard rumours that PT is having lots of operational issues this last week, I know it was closed one day for a couple of hours in the evening, anyone know if this is anything out of the ordinary or not?
-
Furnace heat was working which is nice although tv screen was not, not sure if this is new or not but the first time I rode, I didn’t even have to hold any of the flashlight button down as they lit up by themselves without me needing to do anything the second time I rode even when you don’t hit the flashlight if you shine it, it will still get your points so it’s almost as if hitting the button it’s just for show. I also noticed a lot of new music throughout the ride, which is cool.

I think it looks better without the other screen honestly because the fire on the tv screen looks so fake so the way it is right now with just the coils looks better to me, the strips at the bottom of the stairs are small potatoes to me, I honestly do not even recall what they looked like when they were in place, the only thing I would change right now is giving the gargoyle dialogue again because I think even if his lips don’t move it would be a welcome addition, same goes for our boiler boys as I think more dialogue is a almost always better, I also have found that the flashlight messes up for me the most on the second Maestro scene towards the middle of the ride, not sure why that scene specifically but every time I’m going through there the flashlight gets stuck but overall the ride is still absolutely amazing

Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare New in 2026
MaestroJr replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I was thinking about a potential Christmas overlay and this is my opinion of what we could do, Christmas trees and decor in the queue area and in Maestro’s balcony and basically the premise could be that the Phantom Theater cast is having a party to celebrate the festive season but the ghost notes wreck it when Maestro goes to play the festive songs on the pipe organ. I think that would be a fun ride and give it some festive theme along with altering the sound track to Christmas music played over pipe organ or something. -
I respectfully disagree only because this latest version of Phantom Theater, even though it uses the original IP is a lot less frightening and intense than original Phantom Theater was. I would call this new ride a family ride for all ages but the original was quite scary for younger children but the new one fits in perfectly with the only exception being yes when you are waiting outside it is a bit annoying to hear anything other than spooky stuff
-
Yes I agree, I think unfortunately that’s just the way the park has been, I hope long time they continue to upkeep Phantom Theater and it doesn’t end up looking terrible like the original version did towards the end of its life, so far I’ve been pleasantly surprised I’ve only had two rides where my flashlight didn’t work halfway through and that was both times In car #20
-
Opening weekend it worked and has been turned off since then my guess is it’s an effect that broke and they just didn’t feel like fixing it
-
I understand that but I’m just saying that we have to be honest with ourselves here, Kings Island is a great park but they haven’t exactly been keen to keep every effect working on these dark rides, every time I rode Boo Blasters in the past several years a large majority of effects either didn’t work or barely worked and I think after a while that’s just what you come to expect with a seasonal theme park, I’m just glad to have Phantom Theater back at the park but I do expect there to be some problems with it as seasonal theme parks seem to struggle to keep dark rides at 100 percent
-
I absolutely adore the ride I’ve ridden it twelve times now and I think we have to sorta come to the realization that it is an amazing dark ride that Kings Island is going to have to try diligently to keep maintaining. Having said that it is unreasonable to expect the ride to run perfectly every day or to have the scenes always running perfectly, mainly they need to try and get the flashlights working properly and the scenes can follow after, I know it’s frustrating when a certain scene doesn’t go the way it’s supposed to but I still enjoy it and I think we should all try to give the park benefit of the doubt in that they are trying to make the ride as good as they can but obviously like the other dark rides that have been in the building some days the ride will be working great and others not so great but I think trying to enjoy it the best we can is the main thing. I still can’t believe that I’m riding Phantom Theater again after all these years and especially given that the park is owned by Six Flags now.

You know Larry’s flashlight in the queue was on opening day and I swear it hasn’t worked since then has anyone noticed that, it’s not a big deal just interesting
-
I wonder if the furnace will ever have warm air blasting again, I swear on opening day I felt air blasting

Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare New in 2026
MaestroJr replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I think yes every park that exist needs a dark ride to some extent, whether it be Boo Blasters or Phantom Theater level either way, a park without a true dark ride feels incomplete, as much as parks like Cedar Point are amazing the fact that it doesn’t have a single dark ride is insane, a dark ride is a ride that almost anyone can ride and it offers memories that last forever -
Do we think he just got gorilla glued?
-
I really hope for a Haunt and Winterfest overlay I think even just adding Christmas lights and Santa hats to the characters would be cool, for Haunt though I think they could do more and go all out
-
Well it’s important to remember that only a small portion of the guest will do things of that nature, most of the guest love the ride and enjoy it the way it’s intended, a few bad apples shouldn’t ruin the whole bunch, Kings Islands job is to use the security cameras they have on Phantom Theater and police the people breaking the rules, if they do that then everyone will enjoy the ride and the few bad apples will be removed from the park, I don’t recall any significant events happening on Boo Blasters in terms of vandalism so I know the park can maintain it. Having said that it is also entirely possible that the finger fell off due to malfunction, I’m not sure how really but I guess it’s possible
-
Saw on Facebook that someone broke one of Larry’s fingers off in the first scene in the ride, now maybe it fell off but my guess is some kid who was bored did it, that’s the only reason why I say that having animatronics within arms reach is a bad idea

Audio glitched in the queue tonight and yes I also noticed they were skipping quite a few opera boxes. Only main thing of note that I find funny is during the first weekend of the ride I got 999999 first time but now I can’t get it so I suppose the score has been adjusted to make it hard, does anyone know if some notes count for more points or do all the notes score the same total
-
1. Some things of note yesterday is I believe the volume in the queue is louder than opening day but maybe my imagination. 2. I smelled roses at the end of the ride which was nice 3. Maestro number 2 on the organ towards the ends lips were moving but no audio was heard. 4. I had a hard time scoring so I guess the scoring has been adjusted because on opening day it was easy to get the max 5. I heard some dialogue that I don’t remember on opening day so maybe that’s new 6. heat blast from the furnace wasn’t working nor the smell 7. Noticed that they load every two cars but then randomly a third car In the middle by itself and when riding in that car most of the scenes don’t trigger properly 8. Loading was much faster than opening day though.

Yes but this predates Snoopy, this goes back to the original Phantom Theater when it was built and considered part of International Street even though it was mostly in Hanna-Barbera Land
-
I know this has been discussed before but why is Phantom Theater considered part of International Street when the ride entrance and most of the entire ride is in Planet Snoopy?
