  1. Very cool to see the city honor local landmarks such as The Beast.
  2. I had a great 2019 season! I visited Disney World, Carowinds, Dollywood, Cedar Point, Kentucky Kingdom, as well as 16 Kings Island visits, the most I’ve done in one season. 2020 will be great but 2019 was fantastic, I had never been to Cedar Point or Carowinds but now defiantly look forward to going back.
  3. Yes I did get to see the parade, very well done. I rode near the back of Afterburn,I think it’s more disorienting than Banshee but I feel more intense weightlessness on Banshee.
  4. Hi all hope your doing well, I’m down in Charlotte to see Kentucky play in the Belk bowl and took a quick pit stop to Carowinds. Arrived at about 630 and got to do plenty. First off rode Boo Blasters, I think it’s superior to ours, plus the guns still make sound effects, decent as usual then I headed over to Afterburn.About what I figured it would be. It felt similar to Banshee but not as intense. Very disorienting coaster though, fun ride! I also got another ride on Boo Blasters and noticed that they have removed Boocifer from the organ playing scene. Not really sure why. We then headed over to Ricochet, a long line but a fun little coaster. Finally, I headed to see if the line for Copperhead strike was shorter, being that it was 1 hour before I was surprised to see it be only 15 minutes! The park was almost closed and this point so I was very lucky to board one of the final trains and man was it crazy! Straight out of the station it begins, going upside down and then into a scene similar to Mystic Timbers. Then, launching into a loop and feeling like your gonna fall outta your seat is a crazy feeling. Copperhead strike might just be my new favorite coaster, it really had it all! Overall solid night of coasters at Carowinds!
  5. It is crazy to realize that this will be the only time Vortex and Orion will be in the same picture together.
  6. Yes it is indeed now Urgent Scare, it used to be Spongebob 3D, Days of Thunder, and James Bond: License to Thrill.
  7. It is nice to have Mystic Timbers open, but it was really cool to have Flight of Fear open as well last year. I suspect next year we’ll have both again but that was a pretty solid coaster duo to hold you over till a April.
  8. Ive always called FoF and Vortex, “headache express”, they are both fun but yes kinda makes me feel like a rag doll.
  9. This kind of behavior reminds me of a man on Saturday talking about how if Orion was only 299 ft tall it’s technically not a Giga, he stated he believes it’s not actually 300 ft, it like who gives a darn as long as it’s a good coaster. The word Giga is just a marketing term anyways.
  10. Well if it was 500 ft it would be but since it’s 300, it is defiantly not. I wasn’t gonna explain to those kids that they were off by 200 ft and spoil they’re day by looking like a know it all, but I still think it’s funny how dumb and misinformed people are.
  11. Today I figured out that not only is Orion over 500 ft tall but it’s also the tallest in the world. If only they knew that it wasn’t even tallest in the State. Where do they hear this stuff?
  12. Took these today, really is cool to see how far we have come since The Racer was built. So excited for next year!
  13. Had a great time riding today, I’ve been on it 13 times this month and I think I got my share. Never was my favorite, but hate to see it go. Rest easy big guy!
  14. Through Funpix yes, but the booth is no longer ran at the rides exit.
  15. I doubt it, last year Firehawk stood for all of Winterfest and wasn’t torn down until January. I took these during that time.
  16. What would you like to see besides a dive, I think that or a wing is best.
  17. I took a similar photo during Winterfest. It did look abandoned.
  18. Bat was demolished in 84 and Vortex started construction in 86, so 2 years.
  19. Vortex rode like a champ yesterday, this photo was eerie though. You can barely see the loop in the back.
  20. I get ya Troy, I agree, I’m just saying the official definition of a Giga is 300 ft drop or height. So technically, they’re is nothing to argue about bout I do think it’s all about marketing, sure.
  21. I really don’t get why people keep arguing about Orion being a “Giga”. Regardless of its lift hill, it has a 300ft drop which makes it the technical definition of Giga. Arguing about it is irrelevant at this point, as long as the ride is good. It’s like arguing about the grass being green.
  22. Happy October everyone, hope y’all are doing well, with the removal of two Kings Island coasters in a span of two years and defiantly causing a fierce reaction with the removal of Vortex, I was just curious how people reacted with the removal of rides such as The Bat (original), Screaming Demon, and King Cobra. I don’t remember those rides so I was just curious if anyone remembers how they felt upon hearing about those rides destruction during the years that it happened. Thanks!
  23. Yeah as long as it is warm enough it usually runs until the end of the haunt season.
