Oldschool75 Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Sources at the park sent me this picture. They state it looks just like the RMC trucks at CP. Maybe 2018?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
silver2005 Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Uhh...last I checked, we already have a GCI going vertical. Its probably to help out MT construction. Those trucks aren't unique to RMC. 9 Quote
diamonbackandbeastlover Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 It is also way to early for 2018 trucks to be showing up. And it is probably highly unlikely that we get a GCI and then an RMC the year after... 6 Quote
myklhicks Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Racer conversion confirmed? myklhicks running for the door Quote
BlondyRidesOn Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Alan Schilke and Fred Grubb rode into Sandusky on an Iron Horse. After staying for a bit and making their mark, they rode into Cincinnati on a Trex... Quote
RollerNut Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Maybe they took that same Trex to CP.... 1 Quote
TombRaiderFTW Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I agree that the type of vehicle isn't specific to RMC, so it being there has no correlation to RMC doing anything at Kings Island. However: the general feel I'm getting from the replies in this thread is that if an RMC vehicle shows up somewhere, it can only mean something big (like a completely new ride or a Texas Giant-style redo) is in the works. I think you all are forgetting Georgia Cyclone, Tremors, or Rattler, all of which are (or at one point were) partially retracked with Topper Track. If an RMC truck were to show up at KI this season or this off-season**, it's not inconceivable that they would be doing work in preparation for the 2017 season. **This is not a hint. I have no insider knowledge concerning whether or not an RMC truck will be showing up anywhere in the Cincinnati area anytime soon. I'm just playing the devil's advocate. 2 Quote
Supernova Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Maybe they took that same Trex to CP.... T-Rex track, and by extension the smaller Raptor track is intended to be used to build all-steel looping coasters, not coversions. After all, that thick steel rail has to be super heavy. Quote
King Ding Dong Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 ^^ Good point. RMC also performed some non-Topper Track retracting on The Boss a few years ago. They are a first and foremost a construction company. Now that CF has a relationship with them and they have equipment and crews in OH they could conceivably take on a mundane project such as a restroom at X-Base or even drive their cranes down here to help with Mr. T if they are not needed up north for a period of time. ethancoaster Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Rocky Mountain Construction no longer offers re-tracking using their topper track... at least, I think. Quote
CP Maverick Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 They still offer the Topper Track refurbishment, but they are booked for full scale designs through 2017 and into 2018. And this was said 2 years ago at IAAPA. Quote
CoasterDirected Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 If we aren't getting a B&M giga, I would love to see a T-Rex at the park, whether it's a giga or not, not gonna happen anytime soon though. Imagine Schilke with over 300 feet of height potential, he's already a madman with less than 150! Quote

Imagine Schilke with over 300 feet of height potential, he's already a madman with less than 150! He has stated in interviews that he prefers the smaller rides, because he can do more without worrying about exceeding stress levels. Larger rides require larger pullouts and transitions between design elements. 2 Quote
Creed Bratton Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I can't see the name on the truck, but it is currently working at the MT site.....and it's not RMC, it has a red-ish logo next to the name on it. 2 Quote
steveinphoenix Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 IF that is a RMC truck with signage, there could be countless reasons its there......on way to CP and help a bit with MT perhaps...maybe the exects are just inquiring about an RMC conversion on The Beast (doubt that, but never know). it broke down....hiding out from CP until announcement is made for mean streak...or maybe the drivers just stopped by for a day at the park..im sure they love coasters just as much if not more than everybody else...who knows? 2 Quote
CP Maverick Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I'd bet my Platinum pass that it is just a generic crane truck. There's no reason to assume RMC would be on site. 4 Quote
Creed Bratton Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Again, I believe it's the truck that's working at the Mystic Timbers site. 4 Quote
dragsterguy21 Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 You guys do realize the rmc truck is a normal truck that they painted their phone number and website on right... 2 Quote
NewDay420 Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 If true Kings Island is really throwing money at trying to improve their coaster selection, which I think they need to. Does anyone else think Kings Island can use a giga? Quote
malem Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Does anyone else think Kings Island can use a giga? One kid at this year's Coasterstock dinner thought so. 2 Quote
