Wait times?

Hi! New to the group, but I had a question...any ideas why there are no wait times posted at the beginning of the rides? I check the app but it is far from accurate in my experience, we waited for over 30 mins for Diamondback when the wait time said 5 mins on the app. I could tell by the queue that it was def not 5 mins. But I wouldn’t mind knowing if it’s 30 vs 60 mins.

Welcome to KIC! The app replaces the signs at KI, however accurate. I am not sure how it is updated.

The app gets updated when ride crews report their estimated wait time.

For the most part, I find the data to be more or less accurate, as ride crews are pretty good at estimating their wait time. Sometimes, a ride won't send in their report, and their time will become outdated in the app. If Diamondback says 5 minutes but more other rides are 30+ minutes, something's probably wrong.

I find most advertised wait times at most parks to be unreliable. The best way to estimate the wait time is to be familiar enough with the ride to look at the queue and estimate the wait yourself. For most rides at KI and some at other parks, I can ballpark the wait time just by seeing how many switchbacks are open and where the end of the line is. With a little experience you will be able to do the same.

The Eiffel Tower is also your friend in eyeing queue lengths quickly without having to traverse the whole park.  

For most of the park at least.
