BoddaH1994
Remember FUNperks? http://investors.sixflags.com/news-and-events/press-releases/2018/08-15-2018-205937190
disco2000
FUNperks was a great program. To bad too many people exploited the shortcomings in the computer programming for self gain and partly helped kill the program... If it had only been rolled out properly instead of prematurely... With the addition of all the season long add ones, that program would not be as effective. It will be interesting to see if this program succeeds at SIX given the Dining Pass, etc. does reduce passholder spending each visit..
King Ding Dong
“.....each time they visit the park, go on rides, see a show, or make a purchase. Members can also earn additional bonus points for participating in contests, taking surveys and reading Six Flags newsletters.” Was not around for FUNperks but this seems like a real pain. Are hosts going to scan passes at every ride or show? Self scan kiosks? What a great way to slow things down with everyone fiddling to get their pass at every turn. Probably good for lanyard sales.
disco2000
Fortunately FUNperks was just for purchases, not shows and rides. That aspect will be interesting to see how SIX administers that portion!
Outdoor Man
FUN Perks was intended to be more than it was- 2012 was just the beta. ... BoddaH1994... remember when a certain KIC site members crashed a certain organizations server? uh huh; me too.
King Ding Dong
Did a quick search on FUNperks here and read a few complaints. I gather a major problem was KI wanted to keep the details of how the system worked a secret. When loyalty programs are not understood, confusing and inconsistent it leads the customers to feeling like they are getting screwed. Thus having the opposite impact the organization wanted. SF has something like 6 levels of membership now and it hurts my head trying to compare them all and determine value. If they layer different rewards points for different membership levels on top of this, oh boy.
disco2000
Wasn't that the same KIC member that also had a talking to by security for exploiting a loophole in FUNperks Yes, the rollout was much too soon, even for beta, so it had complaints. Much like the meal and drink plan that changes AFTER purchase of said plan (cross-threading LOL), much of the frustration people expressed was the various levels and how much needed to be spent to get what, etc. FUNperks was prior to meal and drink plans, and one of the major selling points of it was you would get free stuff the more you purchased. For many people, they were spending in the park regardless buying food and drink, so this gave them rewards for spending. The more you spent, the more options you had available to you. You could earn free Cabanas, pizza parties in the International Street Restaurant, a one day drink wrist band, behind the scenes tours, discounts for season pass renewals (maybe up to $20 or more per pass), beagle bucks, etc. A lot of choices. It would be interesting to see if FUNperks had been a success, would the meal and drink plans follow in later years? After all, had FUNperks been a success, the per capita spending would be higher than the current level of spending in the park by most passholders with the meal and drink plan, and introduction of those plans probably would have devalued and eliminated the FUNperks program... So it will be interesting to see how SIX plan works out...If they see a substantial increase in spending by Dining Pass season pass holders at each visit, perhaps we will see a similar program. But I doubt the incentive will be there at SIX to increase spending significantly more than those with a Dining Pass already spend now...
