Oldiesmann
I was at Coney for a while on Friday for my brother-in-law's company picnic, and noticed that the Roundup is gone. What happened to it? That was one of my favorite rides at Coney.
burlguy41005
I have not been this year, but their website still shows the attraction.
Oldiesmann
The support structure seems to be there still but the rest of the ride is gone, as is the sign for it.
CoastersRZ
Unfortunately, the ride was removed from the park. It was not a popular decision among us in the rides department. Especially with nothing to replace it for this season. Hopefully, something will replace it for next season.
Oldiesmann
That's a shame. I loved that ride. Any particular reason why it was removed?

My guess: cracked center turntable. Seems like that's the death blow for that ride. When Stricker's bought the one from Americana they had no idea that this particular unit had that issue and it took them forever to fix it. That's why it was in a pile on property for like 5 years.
Oldiesmann
Hopefully they'll replace it with something good. It does appear that at least one company still makes that type of ride ("Zero Gravity" from Battech Enterprises) but I'd be surprised to see it replaced with the same type of ride.
CoastersRZ
From what I have heard the cost to fix the ride was more than the ride was worth. I would hope we would get a new ride for next year (I haven`t heard anything). The last new rides we got were in 2015 with TopSpin and Fender Bender. We did receive Storybook pedal boats last year and new dimensional signs for the rides. However, Storybook replaced the Como Cruisers boat ride, and Storybook is just pedal boats that look like Swans and Dragons (we already had pedal boats on Lake Como).
