Shman
The winners of the Big "E" Awards were announced at the IAAPA convention in Orlando last week and it turns out PKI did fairly well. For those that don't know the Big "E" Awards are like the Oscars/Tony's for Theme Park entertainment. BoddaH1994
Category 2 – Best Female Performer Winner: Patty Dessources, Paramount’s Kings Island, Kings Island, Ohio, USA I think she's the African-American lady who has a solo in Tuned In!. Shman
Yes, both of these females were in Tuned In! They also hosted Star Search Live! Patty is the African American Lady who you refered to, and Jenny is the somewhat tall, a little too thin, blonde girl, Both were singers in the show. Jenny has been at the park for several years now, but Patty was a new performer this year.
AZ Kinda Guy
I'm in shock. I always thought our talent was very lackluster. Shows how much I know. That or there's not much competition out there.

Shman
Actually, like other people have said, our talent has been really good the past few years. It just so happens that they have not been given much to work with, or showcase their real talents through. However it has started to improve a little bit, This year Tuned IN seemed to schowcase it's better performers (These women) and it seemed to be a slightly better show when compaired to VIBE or Pop Fusion. Now, I can't say too much about it, but according to somethings that I have seen it seems like we are in for a treat when it comes to the show program for next year.
BoddaH1994
I just hope they utilize the talent that they have next year. The two major shows in the Paramount Theatre this year, being Magic of the Movies and the Friday the 13th thing. They spend a million dollars renovating the theatre (which was great, I must add) but as opposed to utilize the new technology to have a talented showcase, it became a matter of showing of the new technology. It kind of reminded me of Stuart saying, "Look what I can do!!"
AZ Kinda Guy
A bigger budget for them to showcase their talents?

I reckon Patty has a very bright future in the entertainment business. Let us hope that she will grace PKI again with her talent next year. Have a great off season! DeliriumDreamer
Now, come on, at least they aren't JJmisskick. It could be worse.
CoastersRZ
Yeah, I too was excited about the renovated Paramount Theater. But I was sorely dissapointed with the show in which they had in it. I would have liked it if they brought back a show like Graveyard shift. Being the only in door performance place in the park (since Festhaus only show Q-TV now) I would have thought that they would have put a higher quality show than Magic of the Movies.
