Coastermania no longer requiring coaster club membership

While holiday world is capping their event.  Shows who is putting profit over guest experience.

First sentence of the third paragraph: "Tickets for this roller coaster event are limited[.]"

I see two sides to it:

1) There are a lot of people who aren’t coaster club members who may want to attend. Why should they have to give money to a third party just to buy a ticket?

2) Coaster club members are the most likely to want to go to this, so how many die hards won’t get to go because some tickets were purchased for a family of five where three of the five attendees don’t want to be there?

The ACE club CoasterCon event this year begins at CP June 19-22, so many coaster folks will be skipping CoasterMania and attending their CoasterCon later in June instead.  This is probably an attempt to make sure the park sells out all of their limited tickets.  Last year was the first year CoasterMania did not completely sell out in under 10 minutes as it did in all previous years (it took almost 2 weeks to completely sell out the approximately 1500 available tickets in 2021).  Many coated fans have felt Coastermania has gotten stale with the same itinerary and same lunch selections year after year, and CP has been reluctant to listen to restore CoasterMania to the two day grand event it once was.

Nice to see no entitlement memberships necessary.

I don't see it as an entitlement. Sorry you feel that way.

Too many clubs have treated the everyday guest like 2nd class citizens and have also treated parks like they need to bow down to the almighty club.  When parks said "no" to certain demands the club(s) have retaliated against the person that said no to the point of jeopardizing their livelihood.

Many in the the clubs have developed a gang-like mentality: if you are not with us, you are against us.  It shouldn't be like that.  Have fun with it.  Enjoy the camaraderie with others and when a disagreement happens, do it respectfully.

I've never been to Coastermania because it's always the same weekend as HoliWood Nights, but this is an interesting decision. I wonder if it will increase the popularity of the event at all.

I don’t think that’s true anymore. It was 10 years ago but I think a lot of those people were flushed out.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head. Unfortunately, once you make a change like this it’s very difficult to go back.

cap coastermania at 1000 guests.

Agreed. Even if it costs more.

Glad to hear that it is getting better.  There were a couple incidents at CM last year that just made my stomach turn.
