Diamondback has been seen with cranes around it, with the speculation that it is being torn down which isn't the case. Instead, we could be in for a treat and get an even faster lift hill like Orion or have the slower lift hill. Personally, to me I like Diamondback's slower lift hill to create suspense since it is revolved around a snake, whilst Orion is revolved around Orion's belt and space, launching you fast up to make it feel like you're being launched. Who knows though! It'll be an exciting surprise they haven't announced yet.

I'm pretty sure it will be exactly the same just a new chain. They wear out like any other moving part. Speed of the lift would have to do with the motor and gearing assembly not the chain.

I wonder if a faster lift would slightly increase capacity though. Im guessing maybe a few seconds faster ride time for a Orion speed lift but would that increase capacity or just have you waiting in brake run for a little longer haha.

Likely a pro-active measure considering GateKeeper had issues last season.

Especially considering GateKeeper is a few years newer than Diamondback

If indeed a faster chain lift were to come to Diamondback, I think it could improve the ride experience. I would definitely be excited for that!

I know it may seem pretty out there, but Diamondback could use a tunnel or two to give it an edge over Orion.

Diamondback already has Orion beat in the Golden Ticket Awards. . .
