PKD4LIFE Posted February 17, 2005 Share Posted February 17, 2005 In 2005... PKD Gets many new additions! Below they are listed! 1) Tomb Raider: Firefall - new huss floorless topspin in 2005. On the construction tour on Febuary 16th 2005 which was yesterday... they said it will have real fire, water, and smoke FX! It will open on opening day! The color on the ride is brown and orange with some black seats on each side for a total of 38 passengers as they flip 5 times in the air over 60ft high! Right now, they are putting in the scenery for the ride and almost finished with the work they have done on it. Tomb Raider: Firefall will be an adventure attraction! 2) Volcano, The Blast Coaster - finally... the coaster is being repainted this year and that means... the yellow track itself and the reddish pinkish supports will have the same color scheme but look like brand new. The whole coaster it being repainted so that means the track, support, and maybe the 3 trains that each sit 16 passengers. It is still being painted but close to done. I don't know if the Volcano will be painted or not... 3) Starbuck - we get a new cafe for 2005 on international street this year! It look really great and has ALOT of chairs on the inside as well on the outside! It is already finished and waiting for people to come in and drink some of its delightful coffee! 4) Cinnabun - also theres another new resteruant coming to Kings Dominion located on international street in 2005. It will sell some great sweet cinnabuns! 5) Opening Day - March 19th 2005! 6) Meet & Greet Area - pkd is getting a new meet & greet area in 2005! It will be another location to meet your favorite characters like, Tommy, Cosmo, and some other characters so be ready... 7) PKD opens with the Nickelodeon Celebration Parade with 2 new floats! 8) Tomb Raider: Grill - yay! a new resteraunt in 2005! it will be tomb raider themed and serve some many choices of food! Can't wait to go and eat there! I can see it already! 9) New Landscape - new landscaping in the congos yay! More flowers, trees and stuff! Yay! PKD's gonna look beutiful this year! 10) Tomb Raider Statue - yes its still there... Why is it still there? Anyways its very beutiful though... 10) Bubba Gumps - the patio part of babba gumps eating spot outside will be doubled in size! This means more tables outside for all of you who want to eat outside whaching volcano riders scream trough 4 inversions and whaching the fire shot out and whaching tomb raider: firefall riders screaming right in front of you. Please don't throw up! 11) Tree - the giantic tree in front of anaconda is now gone because it showed signs on dieing in 2004. There will be some new landscaping there... 12) FOF will have new lights placed in the station and in the spagetti bowl! 13) No Smoking! - you will no longer be able to smoke inside the park! You can only smoke outside the park in the parking lot so smokers don't smoke in the park *new rule* 14) Shelter - there will be a new weather shelter in the congos if any bad weather comes and drive park visitors crazy! I posted this here becuase the community fourm are never busy... This is my last post about pkd here... I took 2hrs to type down this whole thing! Now my fingers are sore. THis section is a PKI message board. Come on, give the guy a break. At least this was a somewhat informative post on what another Paramount Park is doing for the season. I rather enjoyed finding out a bit more. Please, as if there are soooo many other quality posts happening right now in the "regular" forums. Sheesh, some peeps take this thing tooooo seriously. - Todd, who says thanks for the PKD update and plans to go check out Firefall sometime next month. Just look at the number of posts there opposed to the number of posts here. I know I check PKIC every day - but I check the community forums about once a week - and when I do go over there I might make one or two posts. I am already in a lot of different forums - and its just a lot of trouble to go over there. I guess that was the point though. They wanted the PKIC forums to be about PKI, but didn't want to close all the other threads and forbid people from having fun. So they made the community forums for the 'junk'. I think it was interesting to see what PKD is doing. But then again - I am a member of ANMPKD.com, so I guess I would have found out at some point or another. PKD4LIFE Posted February 18, 2005 Author Share Posted February 18, 2005 yeah thats why the new food area for pki is Happy Days Dinner. PKD go thiers last year and it seems boaring to me... The Happy Days Dinner sign will be a neon sign. At night there are many lights that lights up on it. In day time hours you see girls in roller skates skating around ordering and serving your food inside and outside. There are also 2 antique cars in the front of the dinner. The girls who serve you and take you order acts really HAPPY and dance around like some happy days stuff. Its just funny! LOL! OK, when was the last time you walked around and saw a little kid smoking. No there are not more smokers than non smokers. If PKI was a bar and banned smoking then yea attendance would drop. I think it’s only a matter of time before they ban smoking. If you want to kill yourself then do it in the parking lot. Smokers are some of the rudest people out there. But what I do mind is when they are smoking in lines, or in some of the outdoor eating places and I have to smell and breathe it in. I too believe, that banning smoking in the park, except for a few select spots (like in Boomerang Bay or Holiday World) will happen eventually, it is just a matter of time.
