KIBeast
Funny thing is, when I used to go with my family years ago, we always wanted to ride the tram. It seemed like our first ride of the day. Now, I couldn't care less about riding the tram as I can get to the gate faster.
CoastersRZ
Having been to Disney World, the tram is a necessity at some of those parks, where the parking lots are huge like at MGM, and Magiv Kingdom. Kings Island`s parking lot is moderate in size (it has about 11,000 spots) and unless the park is full to capacity, the walk to the front gate is not terribly far (not as bad as at Disney World). True, after tweleve hours of walking in the park, it is nice to catch a tram closer to where you parked your car, or if it is raining a covered tram is certainly nice! Coney_man
NEW FOR 2005!!!, a new Parking lot
Skippy
Well, Universal Orlando has one, Universal Hollywood has one, Disneyland Resort has one, Tokyo Disneyland Resort has one (the largest in the world)! So what could Skippy be thinking of? A parking structure of course This would certainly be nice because not only would this make room for a City Walk/Downtown Disney type area for PKI but it would also keep you dry from the rain! (I could definatly see CP getting one of these soon knowing how limited on space they are)
Great America Guy
^^ Yeah but imagine how insane it would be around park closing time. That is the only reason I don't see many parks ever getting a parking garage/ramp. It would take forever to get out of it at closing. familyman
I would have to agree with you about CP needed a parking garage or two. It would help solve the land locked situation. Sorry Ben had to do it!
KIBeast
Yes, yes, you had to say it, didn't you? Well, it's not funny after 10,000 times it has been posted here. You guys need some new material.
Jasper
Universal you have to walk a mile. Over moving sidewalks and across bridges just to get to the entrance. I hope PKI never gets that big.
CoastersRZ
I realistically don`t see any seasonal theme or amusement park building a parking garage any time soon. Why? Cost. Parking garages cost a lot more per space than simply leveling the land and paving asphalt. The parks would most likely raise their parking fees to cover the cost of the structure, which would result in even more enormous parking fees. While it would solve space problems at certain parks, traffic circulation through garages at peak times can be a little hectic, not to mention that parking structures are ugly unless they spend to make them more aesthetically pleasing. Unless a park is desperate and really wants to shell out the big buck to create more land for attractions, I think the seasonal parks will stick with traditional parking lots. Easy trigger, when I want something out of you I will drop in a quarter. On a serious note I have never been to universal. Plan on going there next year. How are the parking lots at the other Paramount parks?
CoastersRZ
Well, they are pretty much like PKI`s. Blacktop with lines painted on it for the cars to park in. Of the Paramount Parks I`ve been to, Carowinds and Kings Dominion, they were all pretty much the same. Carowinds was a little different because the entrance road actually winds you to one side of the lot. And Carowinds has a north entrance into the park and a south entrance to the park. HabloRM
I say that the parking lot looks like any other one I've been to.
flightoffear1996
THink if PKI would just have a parking garage they could build a parking lot coaster! Universal Stuidos has has a parking garage at least I know that IOA does and it is about $15 dollars to park their if I rember right. It was back in 1999 I last went. DragonLord
The parking lot is huge, a mile long. If you look at what they are doing, it cuts the employee parking lot in half. It looks like they are adding in a walking path/tram path from the Season Pass gate of the water park to the front gate (which I think tram circle will be taken out or worked on too). Since we had a problem last year with people walking down the access road to get to the main gate, I guess this is an answer. We had a hard time keeping people out of the way of the employee's coming and going, so this is a better way to make them go where we want them to. TRTR Guy
gonna suck with half the employee lot getting lost, on busy days it was filled all the way out to Associate row 26. (A.K.A. The Edge)

I was just there Saturday, the cost to park in the garage is $8......just like all the Disney parks too. Anyone else think its funny that its cheaper to park at the big guys down in Florida than at PKI? lol. Anyway, the garages at Universal are well designed, I think. No matter what time you are leaving the park, even at closing, traffic getting out of the garages have never been an issue for me. Seriously though, it seems doubtful that PKI would ever have to go as far as building a garage. - Todd

PKI Foodguy
The universal garages don't look that bad either, they're mostly surrounded by palm trees. Also I never had a problem getting in or out of them. They never seemed too congested. And I thought the moving walkways were cool. At least it wasn't in an airport where you're dragging luggage with you.
