BillyGilmore Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 What ever happened to the Bavarian Beetle. No one seems to know what it looked like, and I can't find any pictues. Does anyone know where I can find anything about the coaster? Quote
Dane Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 And the sign (which is quite nice by the way.) Quote
Grunts Rock Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 So this coaster was pretty much exactly like the Galaxie that was at PKD. Here is my page for PKD's Galaxie, with one of only 2 pictures I have seen for it. Too bad old classics like these go away Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 That looks fun. The could have took those cars out and put in wild mouse cars for a whole new ride Quote
Here_is_Trouble! Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 it looks some what like the wisard or somthing like that in six flags greatamerica in il Quote
drewbari Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 It was old, and it had its time. Before it came to PKI, it Operated from 1970 to 9/6/1971, as Galaxi at Coney Island, then in 1972 it came to PKI as Bavarian Beetle, then it was closed in 1979. Quote
KIBeast Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 I also heard that it was removed because of a certain section where the train would get stuck and not clear a hill. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 How do they get the train back to the station if it stalls? Quote
KIBeast Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 Good question. Well, how do they get a train back to the station if it valleys? Probably manually somehow. Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 That would be interesting. I'd love to see them winch a train through all of The Beast's track. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 That would be interesting. I'd love to see them winch a train through all of The Beast's track. What is a winch? I never ever heard of it and what does it do. is it man powered or what? what does it look like? Quote
Dane Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 It's a roll of cable that can be powered by man or hydralics, or even electricity. The motor spins the roll and the cable of course rolls around it. Next time you see a tow truck, look at the cable and what it's connected to. You can also find them mounted on the grill of a truck. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 O okay I know what your talking about. I just called them something different. Quote
