SonofBaconator
Similar to Airtime Thrills’ “Buy or Sell” videos combined with the concept of the “This or that” thread. I’ll start off by saying “Buy or Sell” followed by the topic. The next person has to reply with either buy or sell and explain their answer then they continue the thread with the next one. Buy or Sell: at least one pre-merger Six Flags park will abandon the Six Flags from their name.

This might be a fun thread! While I'd love to see it happen, I'm going to SELL this one. It's easier to just keep the name of a park the same because you don't have to redo all the signage and ads. While I'd love to see Six Flags Magic Mountain go back to simply Magic Mountain, it's been six flags for so long I just don't see it ever changing. In some cases, the park name would not make sense if six flags was removed such as Six Flags Over Texas. While maybe there's a chance one park might drop the six flags from the name, I hardly think so seeing as it was a merger and the company name is six flags now. If Cedar Fair had bought six flags and wanted to get away from the old brand name I'd say absolutely yes but with it being a merger and essentially Cedar Fair as a name being retired, no I'm going to SELL that idea. We see 3 or more ride removals at Kings Island between now and 2030. Buy or Sell?
BeeastFarmer
@SonofBaconator, I'm going to sell this one. Cedar Fair paid too much for the Six Flags name/brand and I don't think they want their investment to get watered down. ( Yes, I know, merger of equals and all, but the reality is that Cedar Fair is pretty much in charge. @johnjniehaus I'm going to buy this. Most all of Action Zone could be targets. I'd guess the water park could be targeted as well as Snoopy.. Buy or sell ...HFE will figure out what to do with Kentucky Kingdom and make it more successful than it has ever been. I'm hoping to see a really solid coaster addition to replace T3...heck maybe they can convince six flags great adventure to give greenlanter/chang back seeing as there's rumors floating around concerning the possible removal of Green lantern. I think Kentucky Kingdom is a solid local park but I would like to see it become a park that people know they must visit when they come to the tristate area to visit Kings Island or Holiday World. Herschlend can most definitely run and manage a park very well but I just don't know what they long term goal is with Kentucky Kingdom. I'm buying that they will figure it out and make it successful. Buy or Sell: Top Thrill 2 will be open for the Cedar Point opening weekend 2025

I know people are upset at the situation this year and have given Zamperla a lot of hate for it. But, I don’t see them giving up on it and I will bet they are doing what they can to rectify it, no matter how long it takes. That being said, I see expecting something like an opening day opening to be setting yourself up for another disappointment if that turns out not to be the case. If they do manage to get it fully functional by opening day, great! If not, then we are none the worse for it. Buy or Sell? - Holiday World will do something with the old Raging Rapids site within the next ten years.

Buy- 10 years is a long time for a park like theirs to wait to add something, especially if it’s to replace an attraction that was retired the way it was. Buy or Sell?- At least one former Cedar Fair park will get “Six Flags” put in front of their name by the end of the decade: Six Flags Valley Fair, Six Flags Worlds of Fun, etc.

But, hey anything can happen. Imagine Worlds of Fun being renamed Six Flags over the World (even though it only has five themed sections). Buy or Sell: This rumored 2026 coaster that KI is getting will turn out to be just that Beast 2.0 they had on the survey.

Sell - they are never going to do something that large scale especially when it comes to altering one of the most iconic rides in the park to that extreme. I'm not sure who thinks it's a good idea to make the world's longest wooden coaster even longer (and accept risks involved of potentially ruining the ride in some way) rather than just build a new ride which does carry some risk of maintenance issues but at least you aren't losing an existing ride if it doesn't work out. Buy or Sell - Dollywood will retire Blazing Fury and replace it with a new RMC version of the ride by 2030 much like SDC did with Fire in the Hole.
