SonofBaconator
Though KI has somewhat set the standards in some respects for how parks are ran, there another park you would like them to emulate? For me it’s either Dollywood or Hershey. I’ve been impressed with how they balance out their additions while still focusing on the family element-something KI is obviously leaning more towards. johnjniehaus
The gold standard in the amusement park industry to me personally is Knoebels. Fully staffed and everyone acts like they love their job. Rides are always open unless they have maintenance going on and the food/games/merch is very affordable. Also love that they are a family park and non riders don't have to pay. I know Kings Island is not that type of park but I hate to see one up on the Dogem and two in the monster when they had more ops at one time making the dispatches more timely. Knoebels has lots of ops and great efficiency. Heck they have so many employees some of them sit in a booth and sell tickets all day and others take tickets all day. There is a person at the entrance to each rollercoaster who's job is not to sell tickets or check restraints but they are there for one purpose which is to take tickets. That's all they do. Kings Island would never have a surplus of employees like that. All parks in the Cedar Fair chain whine about being "short staffed" but parks like Kings Island are near two major cities while Knoebels is in the middle of nowhere and never seems to be "short staffed"
Tr0y
Magic Kingdom. The level of detail at Disney Parks is incredible. Also, it would be nice if Kings Island had more ticketed events. For the most part it seems they do one event a year. Coasterstock being last season and this year being the ACE spring conference. Once you have a decent amount, if not, all the season pass add-ons, there is really nothing else you can do to elevate your day at the park other than maybe purchase some snacks and souvenirs. KI doesn't offer behind the scenes tours, no After Hours, no dining with Peanuts Characters. I'll beat the dead horse of KI should also increase their season pass price to enhance the guest experience in the park overall.

Could not agree more. But unfortunately, I think it “works” to well for the park for them to make any major changes.
Diamondback_Is_King Posted yesterday at 12:38 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:38 AM The level of thought that Universal puts into their parks and attractions is crazy (look at Epic Universe). If Six Flags could do the same for Kings Island, that would be amazing. Six Flags doesn't usually put as much theming into their rides and attractions (not saying there are no rides with theming). Being more realistic though, definitely Dollywood. Dollywood's staff is very friendly and kind to everyone. They are not like some of the other theme parks I've been to where the employees have absolutely no idea where anything is. So, I think that Kings Island should look to Dollywood for inspiration.
