Losantiville Mining Co. Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Now that Great Adventure has officially released their 2027 Gold Pass and Prestige Pass programs, I'm going to start compiling and posting the information I can find about the 2027 passes and memberships throughout the chain. I'll include some of the speculation and "leaks" as well. Something to note is that while some of these benefits look different from what currently exists, most of it looks to be Six Flags right-sizing their passes and add-ons while still having options that everyone can enjoy. 2 Quote
disco2000 Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Awesome! Threads like this are why I like forums better than Facebook where it all gets lost among all the same questions asked daily lol. 2 Quote

Cedar Point's All Season Fast Lane Unlimited will reportedly cost $2000.00 and will work at all parks (including Cedar Point). This seemingly closes the loophole where guests were able to purchase a Prestige Pass with $500.00 AS Fast Lane from an East Region park and use it at Cedar Point. All Season Haunted Attractions passes and All Season Haunted Attractions Express passes are also on sale at Great Adventure, with the regular AS HA pass costing $49.00 online / $75.00 at the gate, and the AS HAExpress pass costing $129.00 online / $169.00 at the gate. 1 Quote
disco2000 Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Wonder how long before they change the Prestige drink benefit to be only drinks at VIP Lounge only and if you want drinks at other locations you need to buy a drink plan....and doubt this Prestige benefit will include ICEE or hot chocolate.... The question is does this convert a lot of people to call CP their home park? I know many that will do that if they visit CP more than 5 times with season long FL. And if CP attendance tanks next year as many people may skip their trips to CP, do they revert back during the season to season long FastLane being good at CP? They needed to do something to shorten the FL lines at CP, so time will tell if this strategy works. 1 Quote
CedarPointer Posted Wednesday at 02:55 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:55 AM I appreciate them making it such an easy decision to not renew. I guess I just don't trust buying a $400 dining plan from a company who, in recent memory, has... Sold dining plans advertising them as being valid at 40+ parks after already knowing the parks were being sold off, then only gave $10 in FunBucks (tm) as "compensation" for the devaluing of what you purchased Sold "all parks" add-ons for an additional cost, then upgraded everyone who purchased the "home park only" add-ons to the "all parks" version for free, and didn't compensate those who wasted money on the more expensive versions Turned the mazes into an upcharge when Haunt (which has always been advertised as including mazes!) was advertised as a benefit of passes Started offering free Pre-K passes at parks that didn't previously offer them months after passes went on sale, and refused to refund those who wasted money on buying a pass for their preschooler in the fall Allowed legacy members to pay for their passes over the whole offseason, letting them miss the discounts available in the fall and winter, before springing it on them that their memberships they had been paying for had been significantly downgraded Advertised parking as being included at Canada's Wonderland with other parks' passes as recently as January of this year, then took it away for no particular reason other than they wanted more money Taking away seasonal events that were advertised when passes were sold I'm probably forgetting some things, too. But don't worry, I'm sure this will be the time they don't change the rules on people long after their purchase. 1 Quote
Losantiville Mining Co. Posted Wednesday at 06:56 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 06:56 AM My family will definitely be buying our season passes (although we'll likely have to switch to the memberships since that's the new payment plan) and will probably still purchase the expensive dining plans. With how much we use them, the price will be worth it barring any massively crazy changes. Am I happy that we have to pay more? No. Am I happy that the chain is at least attempting to make everyone happy while rightsizing? For the most part, yes. I'm a little shocked that none of the proposed lawsuits against Six Flags for these practices have really gone anywhere. The "benefits subject to change without notice" line is brought up a lot, but when your product(s) changes this much after guests purchase them, it doesn't feel like that line should be so protective. Companies are always protected against the consumer and all of that. (I agree that the previous statement is true, I just don't think they are protected to that extent.) Quote

They needed to do something to shorten the FL lines at CP, so time will tell if this strategy works. I think the two solutions to handle the issues with Fast Lane at Cedar Point are to either a) raise prices, or b) drastically reduce the number sold per day / per season. Option (a) feels like the better decision while option (b) feels like it could be a secondary strategy. Six Flags is doing both, but I think they're mainly relying on option (a) since people who aren't might not go enough to justify it. The $2,000 price tag would take 20 visits to pay off (assuming a $100 daily Fast Lane each time). As for the Prestige drink benefit, I would just expect more of the same as this and previous seasons. The numbers might actually work out to be similar if most Prestige guests already buy the drink plan. Otherwise I'm sure all the folks who aren't renewing will offset the drink plan losses. Unfortunately Cedar Fair and Six Flags spent the past 10+ years keeping prices extremely low and now they will have to deal with the backlash of raising prices. I can't imagine the comments would be any better if Herschend purchased Kings Island and made the Gold Pass start out at $200 with no discounted options to visit other parks in the chain. Quote
CedarPointer Posted Thursday at 12:57 PM Posted Thursday at 12:57 PM How nice of them to punish people for renewing. Quote
disco2000 Posted Thursday at 01:15 PM Posted Thursday at 01:15 PM And "punish" those that buy the 20 or 30 meals - some could blow thru that in 2026. Quote
CedarPointer Posted Thursday at 01:44 PM Posted Thursday at 01:44 PM At least that part of it makes sense, since they bought the version that was limited. In the past, since they started allowing newly purchased add-ons to be used in the fall, renewing passholders always got whichever was the better of the two they had purchased. And that still seems to be the case, except for the "unlimited" (subject to change, no refunds!) dining plan that more than doubled in price. Quote
disco2000 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Our Wonderland Prestige fans are feeling the bait and switch with preferred parking.... Quote
Hawaiian Coasters 325 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago It's almost like they're playing the legal Price is Right, trying to get as close to the legal line as possible without going over... 1 Quote
CedarPointer Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago The second sentence being "buyer beware" is really something. But don't worry, your $400 dining plan won't suddenly have changes made next year. Quote
