moore
I just watched a movie or w/e on the IJ:ST and when it went down the "steps" to the subway, it showed it as being bumpy. J/W if anyone knew if it was actually going to be bumpy. I really hope not b/c I would think it would be rough and really annoying, especially for how fast it appeared to be going in the movie. PKI Punk
The bumps will be simulated. The cars are very technillogically advanced and it will actually feel as if you are going do stairs.
CoastersRZ
The cars will indeed have actuators mounted on the frames, so the seats and riders will "shake" as the trains go down the subway stairs. Additionally, the trains feature on board surround sound systems with a subwoofer mounted below the seats, for the vibration of the engine effect. The trains will also feature working headlights. The trains technologically, will be similar to Rock `N` Roller Coaster at Disney MGM studios, which are also complete with on board audio and headlights. Mr. Christopher
Audiologically similar to R&R, but not by a long shot. I doubt IJ will be this advanced: On-board sound for each passenger. As with Space Mountain Paris, each seat has its own audio system. - 2 Tweeters per seat - 2 Mid bass drivers per seat - 1 Subwoofer under the seat - The sound track may vary it's timing and speed as it moves through the ride. - Each car has it's own laptop PC providing the digital audio and control signals. The soundtrack is stored on solid state compact flash cards. The audio software, "Digital Sound Source and Sequencer", is custom written by Walt Disney Imagineering. - Over 900 speakers encompass the entire ride, totalling 32,000 watts. Jasper
I think that will be pretty cool.
KIBeast
I have heard that it will be pneumatic shocks that create the bumping effect. I also have heard that the cars will fishtail as well.
familyman
The cars look goofy on top of the tracks sitting on the boxy thing. Are they going to dress them up some? I know the cars are getting detailed but what about the platforms they sit on?
crazypkikid2005
I think the platforms are here to stay.
PKI Dude
Those "Platforms" are the linier launch fins Sven
Mr. Christopher
The cars sit on the "platforms" for the fishtail effect, if any. The silver fins on the sides are for the launches.
Jasper
It looked pretty slow in the testing video but hopefully it will get faster!
CoastersRZ
Yes, there will be a fishtail effect. Jeff Siebert mentioned today at the ACE walk back to The Beast, that they had begun testing the cars with this effect this past week. They had also begun testing the shaking mechanism in the cars this past week. He said they are getting close to being ready for the technical rehearsals. I personally can`t wait to experience this attraction. I am sure it will be a fun ride!
pkiboy
ANY PICS OF The Beast TODAY OR IJST?????????????
flightoffear1996
How does that fish tail thing work I'm still not understanding that. Right now IJST is starting to run faster. They are just trying to sync up the lims right now.
CoastersRZ
As Jeff mentioned this morning, the IJST is undergoing block testing, and every situation imaginable, to see how the ride and estops work. Then, if they haven`t already, they will need to get the state in to certify the ride before the technical rehearsals can begin for the gp. CoastersRZ
There is a gold pass night this Friday and next Friday from 5-10pm. I do not know if IJST will be accepting riders or not for technical rehearsals next weekend.
