jzarley
It would be nice for a B&M Replacement for Top Gun... 400th Post!!! I still maintain that if KECO hadn't been too far into the project with Arrow to back-out when Paramount bought the parks, our Top Gun would have probably looked a lot like PGA's. (But, I guess we'll never really know that for sure...) Congrats on the 400th post
Gordon Bombay
There will not be a B&M replacement to Top Gun, dont worry about it, Top Gun isnt going anywhere for a long time. I dont believe we wouldve had the same Top Gun ride as carowinds, Carowinds B&M invert was originally supposed to be themed to the movie Godzilla but that movie did terrible at the box office. I said PGA...not Carowinds. PGA's Top Gun was installed in '93 just like PKI's. Both PKD and Carowinds got identical installations of DoT that same year, and PGA and PKI both got a coaster called Top Gun...I think there's a certain line of logic that says that IF Kings Island hadn't been too far in to the Arrow project, that PKI's Top Gun might have very well been a B&M as well. (B&M's...buy 'em in bulk! ) The Arrow suspended had already been announced for KI prior to the Paramount acquisition. If I remember correctly its original name was "Thunder Run" or something similar... Joel

LongLiveTheSmurfRide
I'm just saying it make a lotta sense besides paramount always give us (PKIfanatics) the BIG attractions look at TR:TR so whats next? In 10 years (if the ride's theming is lucky enough to last that long) people are going to be saying the same thing about TR:TR. "Why does anyone care about this old movie?" That's the problem with themed rides. Eventually the movie experience just gets old for people. That's why re-theming is a practical solution to give a ride new interest. Granted, Paramount doesn't have the best library of classics to choose from for theming, and one of their best products (Indiana Jones) they can't even market, so they have to go with movies like Tomb Raider, Drop Zone, and the Italian Job, which while they were commercial successes will not be movies people consider classic cinema. Top Gun at least is one of the premier air combat movies, so its appeal does last a while. But all movie theming fades and gets tired, no matter what property it is marketing. loganrun
Let top gun just be, its a great coaster and the whole family can enjoy it, yes do i want a longer coaster, etc. yes let Kings Island build the next great ride. Look they did great with IJST! But top gun awseome ride, and think about it could have been called thunder road if PKI had'nt bought the park. So were lucky to have top gun, and yes after a while themed rides need rethemed to keep people coming bacK!
