drewbari
Do you think The Racer is 1 ride or 2 rides?
Browntggrr
Tough question, and one that is really how an individual wants to look at it. Excluding dueling coasters (i.e. Lightning Racer @ Hershey, Dueling Dragons @ IoA, or Gwazi @ BGT- all of which can never be considered one coaster), most "Racing" coasters follow the same track (i.e. Gemini @ CP) or "mirror" each other, with the exception of Kennywood's Racer which is one track (one complete circuit w/ 2 trains). The Racers at PKI mirror each other, yet you could take one side down (demolish), and the other side could still run w/o much of a problem- unlike Gemini, so in my mind, it should be considered 2 coasters, especially since there are 2 different ways to ride it. :offtopic: The Racer at Kennywood is an extremely unique ride. You will get in on one side of the station, and end the ride on the opposite side. It is really hard to figure out, and is one of three still operating by John Miller. slayerdisciple25
It should be 2 because it is 2 seperate tracks and the ride each track gives 2 entirly different rides.
drewbari
It should be 1 ride.
panther2004420
Y you have to have a reason
DanielRadsgrl
I think it's more of a one ride then a two ride. It has the same name and the same track. Yea one goes backwards and one goes forwards but that's the only real difference. When they run together it's definatly one ride..I wish they still rode them together. flightoffear1996
Its is most 2 coasters. The Racers should be consided to coasters because its two different tracks. That is all that is needed for two rollercoasters
docdude316
Well I would think that if Racer is counted as one then every clone of a ride should also be counted as one. I personally count it as two.
Captain Obvious
I would count it as two. And in RCT it would be counted at 2 aswell.
Grunts Rock
I say it is only 1 coaster but 2 coaster tracks. That is the way they are counted when a park's coasters are added. For example, you say that PKD has 12 coasters and 13 coaster tracks. Just because they have 1 more track than actual coasters doesn't mean that it is 2 rides. BTW, how exactly do we vote in this poll? The question says is it 1 or 2 but the answers are yes and no
Shaggy
It's all subjective. Personally, I count it as one... as does PKI. I decided to only count it as one based on the fact that it shares the same overall structure, follows essentially the same path on both sides, and most importantly the name of the ride is singular... not plural. swampmonster
Nobody can vote because you ask a multiple choice question and supply only yes/no answers.
BoddaH1994
Nobody can vote because you ask a multiple choice question and supply only yes/no answers. I noticed that myself... is the first choice 1 and the 2nd choice 2? Let me know and I'll edit it for you.
Stitch
One Coaster, Mirrored Track, it has to be two differnt layouts to be considered two seperate coasters.
docdude316
...it has to be two different layouts to be considered two seperate coasters. This raises an interesting question. How are cloned rides counted?
Grunts Rock
By cloned rides, I'm guessing you're talking about Batman the Ride for example. If so, why would there be any questions about them. They are separate coasters on their own and at all different parks. That may have not been what you were talking about though.
Dane
I just went ahead and changed the poll, sorry to the 5 people that already voted and didn't know what you were voting for.
flightoffear1996
It should be two because its 2 differnet tracks so I don't see where this should even be an issue
docdude316
I was just bringing up the point that someone said that the layout of the track has to be different for it to be considered a separate ride (obviously I know that a ride at a different park should be counted separately). With the logic that the layout has to be different for the ride to be counted twice all cloned rides should be counted as one ride.
flightoffear1996
Really The Racers isnt a clone cause the turns turn in different directions so it is not the technically the same track. I miss the spell check
docdude316
I guess what I'm trying to say is that it should be counted as two rides because if recaR was at the Beach and Racer was here they'd be counted as two rides. What is the difference between them being at the same park?
Captain Obvious
I miss the spell check The spell check is back, try deleting your internet files.
Shoegirl
I do think that The Racers was meant to be one coaster ride. The race was part of the excitement of the ride! We would go on to see if our side won....So the ride is the racing excitement! IMHO

Does there need to be a poll? Because when I started this post, I did not make it a poll. One of the head guy come and added the poll, I don't care, i'm just wonting to know why. italianchef
Tough question! Since it shares one name, it's considered 1 coaster. HOWEVER, I consider the Race to be TWO (2) separate roller coasters because; 1. They have separate tracks. 2. They use separate trains. 3. There are times when one of them (forwards/backwards) is closed and the other is operational. 4. You can't ride them at the same time. That's my humble opinion. Have a great day! Here_is_Trouble!
i count it as one because.... ummm because .... it is my birthday and i say so....no because if you ride it backwards you go the same path as the forward people.. though it might be two sperate tracks.. in my mind it is one
