Guest faceoff
Reclaimer Your right, that is creepy. It is also sad, to see an amusement park allowed to rust away. Makes me appreciate Kings Island even more. Have a nice day. Tom
Reclaimer
At first, I thought the pictures were computer-generated, but upon closer inspection...I can't be too sure.
Gordon Bombay
That is really weird, kind of reminds me of a picture I saw once of a small amusement park that stood in Chernobyl. For those of you that dont know, Chernobyl is a city in the Ukraine that was once occupied by the USSR. It supported one of the USSR's first nuclear energy facilities and there was some type of explosion (not a mushroom cloud nuclear type one, but it blew away the building that contained the reactor) after they failed to stabilize the reactor. Radiation went everywhere and many died (Im sure way more died than the "official" Russian report claims)! Well now the area around that nuclear plant is completely abonded but everything still stands. They showed some creepy pictures of a Ferris wheel and the city behind just standing, no one around. jzarley
There was an active thread over on Coasterbuzz last week titled "Abandoned Park in Japan". I didn't read any of the messages, but I bet this is what it referred to...
Jasper
That is creepy. I wonder how old that thing is.
Gordon Bombay
Here is a link to the translated version of that page, when you scroll to the bottom if you click the jappanesse chareceter on the button with a white background to the far right it will take you to more pictures of the abonded park. There is even a 2nd abonded coaster. Translated Page
thejoker8388
Haha, I love that translated version. It's almost as hard to understand as the Japanese verion. Oh well, a million times better than I could do I guess. "While becoming frightened to the mask PC, the fact that it throws the northeast road, arrives to actual place was past o'clock of 6." "By yourself at you looked several waste 墟 which it can be wrapped in the fog, perhaps but the instantaneous there God has gotten off." KIBeast
It is the same coaster that was discussed over at Coasterbuzz. The coaster is real as well as the other ride. Could it be Old Man Withers Haunted Amusement Park?
HomerJay
That is really creepy! The fog and the plants growing in the ferris wheel. The coaster waiting for riders that will never come. That would be a great setting for a horror movie!
flightoffear1996
Yea it would be great to see that in a horror movie. I bet if they could even send that train the hole thing will collapse.
Pirate of PKI
Seems to me like whoever put the English version together probably used a crappy online Japanese to English translater that wasn't much of a help. Anyway, it caught to my attention that the last caption under the last picture said something about opening in 1973. Anyone know the actual year these pictures were taken? My favorite part of the captions was "perhaps but the instantaneous there God has gotten off."
Jasper
Yeah it probably would collapse. But it would be agreat horror movie also.
