May 22, 200521 yr With the public opening of IJST this weekend, and the expectation of really long lines, I thought it would be fun to discuss the longest you've ever waited in line for a ride (and what ride it was). Personally, I think the longest I've ever waited is an hour or so for Flight of Fear when it first opened.
May 22, 200521 yr 5 hours for TTD, kept breaking down of course. Also 3 for MF and a whole hour for Disaster Transport, I don't know why I did that.
May 22, 200521 yr Longest wait was MF last year for about 2.5 hours. MF always seems to have really long lines no matter what the day, the rest of the park was almost empty with lots of walk ons but MF still had 2.5 hours. Now one day for TTD I probably waited 4 hours but not consecutively. I waited about an hour till it broke down, then another half an hour until we decided to leave line, then about 5 hours later it was finally working again so we went in line waited another 2 hours untill it broke down then half an hour later they got it working again and we got on. So I probably waited 4 hours in the TTD line before I actually got to ride it.
May 22, 200521 yr The longest i waited was for Raptor at CP when it first opened.Lngest at Kings Island was for Top Gun the year it opened man what a dissappointment. It is a good coaster just needed to be longer......
May 22, 200521 yr Longest line I waited in was for the grand opening of sob. longest line I waited in to get skyline at the park was 40 minutes, yea that was yesterday at 12p.m. if any of you were there and eat at that skyline arround that time, you know what i mean
May 22, 200521 yr The day that TR TR opened, I had to wait 2 1/2 hours. It was worth the wait though. The 2nd longest I've probably waited for was FOF, maybe because the outside and insides were filled.
May 22, 200521 yr 2+ hours the day after SOB officially opened, then after riding it I went back and waited 2 more hours to ride with my dad.
May 22, 200521 yr IJST lines won't be long till sometime in June. I was there yesterday and they have it where you have to get a ride reservation ticket. They said it was to make the lines shorter, they said it would end June 6. -Jake
May 22, 200521 yr 6 hours for TTD (opening day to public), 4 hours for MF, first month it was open, 3.5 hours for FOF when it first opened (line baked up to Vortex) and nearly 3 hours for the one and only top gun when it first opened.
May 22, 200521 yr Mine was Face/Off in 99, the year it opened on a saturday, I waited 2.5 hours waitin and wasn't that impressed plus it made me sick.
May 22, 200521 yr 6 hours opening day of Flight of Fear back in 96. 5 hours and 4 minutes for Top Thrill Dragster opening day after those kids got hurt on it.
May 22, 200521 yr The longest I've waited was 2 hrs and 45 mins for MF last year. It was totally worth the wait but I would never wait that long for a ride at Kings Island though (well maybe for the first time ride on IJ:ST)....I have more patience for Cedar Point rides b/c most of them are more intense.
May 22, 200521 yr FoF opening day was by far the longest line I ever waited in. I waited more than 4 hours. In fact, the line stretched back to the entrance of Zephyr.
May 23, 200521 yr Back in 1999 when I went to Cedar Point, I got in line for The Raptor. It was like a 4 1/2 hour wait in the middle of July. It was 105 Degrees! I did end up getting on the ride but shortly after the ride got heat stroak. I felt like crap for a week!
May 25, 200521 yr In 1999, I waited 2 and a half hours to ride Drop Zone on the day it opened to the general public. In 1993, I waited 2 and a half hours to ride Raptor at Cedar Point, making it the first 54" ride I ever rode.
May 25, 200521 yr I saw Dane and someone else say they waited 5 plus hours for TTD. I cant imagine that, its over so fast, but I guess if your not up there often you gotta wait. I definenlty dont have the patience for that, I'd need a gameboy or my Ipod or something
May 25, 200521 yr FYI FOR EVERYONE IJ will be doing the ticket reservation system until sometime in early June. Make sure you get your tickets early in the morning because we have been known to run out of tickets as early as 5:00pm.
June 2, 200521 yr The longest wait that I've wait'ed was for TTD. On July 31 2003, it was a 2 hour 35 mins. We got in line at around 0940 and got off the ride at around 1100. I did witness alot of launchs.
June 6, 200521 yr I waited around an hour and a half to ride TR:TR when it first opened. I didn't even know what in the world it was or what it did, but I rode it. Great ride. I think it was worth the wait.
June 6, 200521 yr Longest, TR TR the year it opened. I wasnt into rides back then so it was a disapointment.
June 6, 200521 yr When it comes to longest waits at PKI, I'd probably have to say it's rare if I have to wait longer than two hours. PKI usually moves their lines pretty quickly, except for FOF, which can be sooooo slow if it's busy. Cedar Point hasn't learned about this type of crowd control yet. I've waited 3 hours for the Mantis and about the same for Millenium force. I refuse to wait 6 hours for a coaster! That's half a day at the amusement park!
June 9, 200521 yr I havent heard this yet last friday was bring a friend free day for season pass holders i waited 2.5 hours for The Beast at night we timed it just right though got on at 9:40 perfectly dark. Best ride i ever had on The Beast.
June 11, 200521 yr The longest wait that I've wait'ed was for TTD. On July 31 2003, it was a 2 hour 35 mins. We got in line at around 0940 and got off the ride at around 1100. I did witness alot of launchs. I could just sit down for an hour and watch those launches. I even got to see one of those big, fake dragster tires come off during the launch. Scared the out of me.
June 21, 200521 yr Pipeline pradise the retro 1 hour wait for a 30 second ride and got back in line over and over
June 21, 200521 yr Well lets see....4 hrs for X in 2003 at Magic Mountain, 3.5 hours for Top Thrill Dragster in 2004, and 2 hours for Millennium Force in 2002.
June 21, 200521 yr I waited three hours for Millennium Force in 2000. In 2003, I waited five hours for Top Thrill Dragster. Mostly because of mechanical problems and such. It was well worth the wait.
