harvesterofyoursorrow
When you look close (I rode two times on thursday, looked 2 times) I saw 9. There is a TINY little peice at the very top. It almost looks like a shadow. And there is another TINY peice at the bottom.
Firefall Pkd
I have a general question; How much did IJST cost to build? and then Was it worth this cost?
gburn07
Well, I do not know the first part of your question, but, despite my negative feedback along with the negative feedback of a great deal of others, it was still a good leap forward. Rides like these, even if we dont like them as much as big rides, is what gives PKI a different feel from Cedar Point. One notch above IJST in terms of theming and PKI will have a winner. Mr. Christopher
I have a general question; How much did IJST cost to build? and then Was it worth this cost? If I'm not mistaken, around $10 million. Personally, I think it's worth the cost; It's something fresh and new. I just hope they keep up with the themeing.
PCarowinds
I personally loved every one of my 4 rides on it in May. I was there for Media Day and got 1 ride (before the monsoon came). Then 3 rides the following day. I perosnally prefer to have the lights off in the tunnel. It's much more intense. With the lights on (the cars) it's fun, but not as "scary". Have they gotten the theming for the "stairs" installed yet?
beastdude
I have rode it 12 times and i had only one break down. I loved every ride.
bradb055
I rode IJST today for the third time or so. It was terrible!!! The sound (in car) didnt work. The helicopter didnt work. The automatic doors needed to be slightly assited when opened, and I have yet to experince the stair effect going down into the subway. Has anyone experinced this effect or any of the others that were supposed to be incoperated on this ride? There were a few good points too: The fire worked, as well as the headlights on the cars (at least the car I was in), and I did not see the ride break down while I was at the park. I have to say I hope this trend does not continue for IJST because without the effects this is just a boring "family" coaster.
Reclaimer
Was at the park today and rode as well. Train I was in, only red car's lights were working. No sound in car. 'Copter wasn't working. All as you stated. I havn't experienced the stair effect yet, either. I didn't see any problem with the doors. And I didn't see any breakdowns, either. All in all, it's still brand spanking new, and therefore, is still going to have growing pains. I don't know if any of the IJ crew visits PKIC, but I would like to offer this message, anyway. (As it applies not only to the IJ crew, but all of the park employees): You guys are great. I was standing in the IJ line today and I knew I had to type some sort of congrats to the crews this year. I've been to the park 5 times so far this season, and have LOVED every visit. Each time I come, I feel welcome. I never feel as if I'm in the way, unwelcomed, or just "some customer". To all in rides: Even more kudos! I've never seen the lines move so efficiently...all without sacrificing the great PKI customer-service I've come to know. Now, to IJ:ST crew in particular: Wow! Today was the first time I've been to the park when the ride reservation tickets weren't in use for all guests...therefore, it was the first time there's actually been a line under the tarp area in the actual queue. Now, it was a Tuesday (a crappy, one at that), but the line was still longer than I've experienced for IJ. The line was moving almost non-stop. I was watching the trains come in, unload, load, and dispatch almost like clockwork. Bravo! So, all in all (even though I've deviated from the original post), GREAT JOB all employees! Next time I plan a visit to the park, I'll make sure to post on here and I'll see about actually meeting some of you guys!
Outdoor Man
If i'm not mistaken, IJST was advertised as a family class coaster, so the absence of "mega-thrills" was probably intentional. Now, I could be wrong on that one. My only complaint is that it- like TG, FOF, to name a few- is too short. It picks up where Adventure Express left off.... major theming, then you go up that tunnel with all of the characters saying "now you will pay!!!".... only to have the ride last 5 seconds more as you exit to the loading station. but not to knock it... i would still rather have IJST than a hyper or mega-coaster. special effects coasters will be fun to ride long after 500ft tall 150 mph coasters get stale and otherwise unsafe to ride. can't wait until someone pulls a Fabio on Top Thrill Dragster and takes a sparrow to the face... or heck at that speed even a fly would do some damage. flightoffear1996
I have heard of accidnets on it with pigeons that is why Kingda Ka has a horn to before the launch is so they can scare all the birds away.
KIBeast
I don't think that the doors are supposed to be automatic. You are referring to the doors on the minis? I think the special effects will get boring after a while when going from 0-120 in four seconds will never be boring.

Beast Freak
It SUKED it's way to short they should have spent there money more whisley and not on a piece of trash that will be all broken down with in a year.
Reclaimer
Great double-post, PKIBeast. I loved your post so much, it was totally worth reading it twice. Best Freak, tell us why it sucked (besides the fact that it is "to" short. Does the name TTD ring a bell?) and how they could have spent "there" money more "whisley". I'm interested. I think a family coaster was a GREAT idea. It's not a kiddy ride, nor is it a thrill ride. It's a ride for everyone...a heavily themed coaster at that. Like what has eben said before, theming is great and doesn't get old. Getting shot up in the air only to head back down into the station gets old quick. TTD, for example. 2+ hr wait for a ride that doesn't even last 30 sec. It's a great ride once or twice...for the novelty, but that's about it. KIBeast
I have no idea of why it double posted. I hit add reply once. Here's why. TTD is short, but fast and thrilling. IJ is just short.
Gordon Bombay
^PKIBeast is right. IJ will get boring, honestly I can go faster and feel more of a sense of danger when I change lanes on the higway! I can go as fast as any PKI coaster in my own car! Now a 120 mph coaster.........you dont get to do that everyday!! I mean, thats just outright insane and crazy. Everday I can drive up hills and make quick turns at 70 mph in my mazda, but not everyday can i be thrown 120 miles per hour with little restraint up a 90 degree hill with a breathtaking view then plummet straigt down while spiraling! I can drive my friends mini cooper through a tunnel and get the same experience as IJST! IJ would be a lot better if PKI did what they promised and had fish tailing and bumping but, i havent seen or felt that yet! Rides need to be unique like TTD. IJ is just a simulator of your drive to work but with a helicopter and the same fire effects that can be produced with two lighters from a gas station. Neat little coaster, but not worth a 2 hour wait!
gburn07
As i mentioned earlier, IJST is a step towards the right direction, but just not there yet. Last year I went on ROTM at Universal. Same speed as IJST, but they did not cut corners on that ride. I mean a full parking garage with floors that you could see you going up and little things as a real fire explosion instead of a flame that shoots straight up are the little things that add to the thrill of a ride even if it isn't fast. ROTM felt much faster than 40, IJST feels 40. IDk, maybe the fact that your outside really ruins the experience. I hope the next big themed ride they make will be a bigger hit than IJST. Even now people arent talking about it as much.
Outdoor Man
I just don't feel that the height, speed, and the rate by which they get there can be safe much past where they are. I don't care if they do sound a horn to scare birds, one still may fly into the path. And at 120mph... the bird (or insect) would have to move pretty fast to get out of the way. plus it just seems to be too nearing the limits of what a human body can take. In my opinion one of the best rides i have ever been on doesn't go faster than probably 5 mph and doesn't even leave the ground- but is stacked full of special effects. Anyone ever ridden "Spider Man" at Universal Florida? That is the kind of indoor themed ride that KI should look into. A big investment ride that is huge on special effects that would never get old. Anyone who has been on it would know what I was talking about. A few years ago when there was a buzz at PKI regarding the "7th Portal" I thought they were doing something like that... only to find out it was another "movie" with bouncing chairs at the "Days of Thunder" theater. So, in short- I would never opt to wait 2 hours in a line for it, but would prefer the direction PKI is heading with theming and special effects over height and speed. Also the ride is way to short more a wild mouse that goes fast. While the people that went with me that do not like coasters love the ride. The others that did like coaster where thats its I was in line for this.
Reclaimer
I am very upset that the fishtailing and bumping isn't there. Those were two things I was really looking forward to.

Gordon Bombay
The problem with IJ is that its not unique. Its got some cool stuff, but its just a small family coaster that is like Adventure Express with a different theme. If it had the things that were promised (fishtailing, bumping, police sounds, car sounds (tonight only one of the trains had sound effects within it)) than it would be set apart from other coasters.
