Shouldn't This Occur at the CBS Park?

Just saw this on Screamscape...

Park News - (7/12/05) Geauga Lake will host live tryouts for Survivor 13 hopefuls on July 21st from Noon to 7pm at the Water Ski Stadium. Once you complete your audition tape, the park will refund your park admission ($24.95) and you can spend the rest of your day in the park for free.

So, at a time when the parks will be under the management of CBS--and they're even enteraining the idea of renaming them--a CBS television show holds auditions at a Cedar Fair park??

Way to take advantage of that corporate "synergy laugh.gif

lol... It looks like you took this one personally.

biggrin.gif Yeah, I guess I sort of did...

I guess I just find it ironic (and a little sad) that in the same week they get everyone all riled up with the survey about renaming the park "CBS's Kings Island", one of the network's highest rated shows holds auditions at a competitor's park a few hours up the road. (Granted, it's probably the production company--not CBS--that's holding the auditions, but you have to think the network airing the show would have some input...)

I saw that too and was wondering why they wern't using there own parks for audtions.

Location. GL is in the middle of the state make it a fair trip for anyone who wants to come from all over, PKI is in the bottom left corner of ohio. Making it very inconvenient for a lot of people up north.

Last time I checked, Cleveland was not in the middle of the state. Much like PKI, and Cincinnati are in the corner of the state. They should have an audition in Cincinnati, since Cincinnati has been one of Survivor`s top markets since it debuted, and with the popularity of Kentucky Joe (Roger Bingham) on Survivor:The Australian Outback.

I wish! I'd love not to have to drive 1.5 hours (at least) for a coaster fix biggrin.gif . You might have been thinking of Wyandot Lake, which until CF's purchase of GL had been a sister park for years.

Although, did you all know that in the late 60s, Columbus was Anhueser-Busch's initial choice for building a new park that eventually became BGW? (How's that for off-topic? <G>)
