Legend Rider
Okay look, From my book... PTC is todays most productive coaster train manufacturers, they now only make and supply vehicles, no more Coaster construction for them. the #1 of all time is NAD Vehicles, they are out of business now though, the next one, PTC, the true name in Wood Coaster Vehicles... Side Note, Why is it that PKI People are so confused on this issue, Racer, 4 PTC Trains Beastie (RIP), 2 PTC Junior Trains Beast, 3 PTC Trains I dont get it... And I believe there are rather numerous locals that have them... Strickers Grove, LeSourdesville Lake, Cedar Point, Geauga Lake, Wyandot Lake, SF-KK, Et Cetera, I Understand that you think I am a PTC Fanboy, and I may be, a little, but come on... What do you expect, this company has been in the business of Coaster Trains FOR WOOD, for about 100 years... How long has premier been up? B&M? B&M Tried doing a wood, after the request of SF-MM, bad mistake, they are some of the roughest ever... and like I say, the wood coaster trains from PTC are awesome!! they are so sleek, and fast, they are perfection on track!! Rawr, Can we get back to the topic at hand? Would everyone like to see a construction journal on here?
Captain Nemo
Voyage will own all woodies, even the MEGA woodie to be announced tomorrow at Six Flags Great Adventure.
Gordon Bombay
Actually Legend Rider, I believe Lesourdsville Lake's screeching eagle used the 3 car NAD trains that were later renovated with PTC lap bars. I remember reading that this morning. Also, why did PTC deny paramount the right to use their trains on SOB?
Delirium_Guy
\Also, why did PTC deny paramount the right to use their trains on SOB? No one really knows for sure. The popular story floating around was that essentially NO ONE wanted ANYTHING to do with the project. Honestly, who could blame them? Not sure what prompted Paramount Parks to conceive such a stupid ass idea such as Son of Beast, much less to take on the project as the General Contractor with RCCA around for supervision only?? That ride is a disaster by all accounts, no denying that. Anyone at the Park, at least those who are honest, will even say the same thing. I commend PKI for the attempts to keep it in a semi-rideable condition, but they will always be fighting a losing battle unless they want to sink millions each season to do just that. Sadly, we are stuck with those POS trains. I firmly believe they are a MAJOR contributor to the ride's problems. Maybe someday, someone will come up with a better set of trains for SOB. In the mean time, it is what it is.
TheKlockster
SOB would be tight with X Car trains... And they aren't POS trains... They are PSV trains...
Admiral Ackbar
X Car trains? I hope to hell you're joking. And yeah they are POS trains...
Legend Rider
Actually Legend Rider, I believe Lesourdsville Lake's screeching eagle used the 3 car NAD trains that were later renovated with PTC lap bars. I remember reading that this morning. Also, why did PTC deny paramount the right to use their trains on SOB? You, Did I not just say it was NAD that was #1, then PTC, GAH! NADs arent made anymore, and super difficult to maintain now that there are no caretakers for them, plus screechin' eagle is SBNO --- Much like Delirium Guy said (AND THANK YOU, WELL SAID) It was an intimidating experience, nobody was eager to work on it, oh yeah except RCCA and Stengel.... hmm... a crazy designer (Good, but crazy) and a crazy wood corp, nice... Gordon Bombay
So referring to your last post are you mad at me for correcting you? You said Lesourdsville aka Americana used PTC, they still had the NAD trains before it closed but PTC lap bars were fitted with the NAD trains. TheKlockster
I thought Screeching Eagle still had the big bars that go across both seats. I really hope Lesourdsville Lake reopens - it is a great park!

You said Lesourdsville aka Americana used PTC, they still had the NAD trains before it closed but PTC lap bars were fitted with the NAD trains. they were / are maintained by PTC now, Gah! Freaking pay attention!! Maintained by PTC, but are NAD vehicles none the less and Klockster you are correct, they still have the single lap bar and the site claims plans for 2006 are pending. And Legend, you really need to chill out, Voyage may be good, but Beast pwns Raven and Legend any day.
Legend Rider
aggh, have you not seen the polls, as newer coasters are born, (Raven/Legend/Boulder Dash) There happen to be good ones that push the old out... Sure not much tops the Phoenix, but Beast has been ousted for a while, and think of it this way, most of the people claiming that The Beast is the best, havent been on many others... its nazi-ism! Gordon Bombay
Show the picture them and comparing Beast fans to Nazis is pretty stupid, your fanatic about Voayage and Holiday World just as Hitler was a fanatic fan of Germany. Sieg Voyage! Sieg Legend Rider! Sieg Internet coaster nerds!
TheKlockster
Sieg Legend Rider? WTF VICTORY LEGEND RIDER! That's what that means!!!! LOL Sieg Heil is Hail Victory! I wouldn't call Beast fanboys Nazis (as nazi is short for the national socialist german workers party) but I would say they need to get out more. Ride a few hundred other coasters and still say Beast is your favorite...
Legend Rider
I have no problem with being a "coaster nerd" LOL, I know I am... Screechin Eagle... Lesourdesville Lake... Very much so of the PTC Rolling Stock...

Gordon Bombay
Looks like the NAD cars to me. I get to spend hours staring at PTC trains each weekend, and those featured in that picture are much different from the PTC's I've seen featured on The Beast, Racer, Raven, and Legend. Plus theres this The cars featured on the Screeching Eagle are actually Nad chasis retrofitted with PTC lap bars and electronics, as mentioned in the previous link. Legend Rider
Looks like the PTC Stylings, and that is the main driving thing that people see, If it has that slightly bent back panels on the side like raven legend beast etc. it looks very much of the PTC, so eat that. gah!
Gordon Bombay
Yet still a NAD chasi and a NAD car. You can have a ford chasi decorated to look like a pontiac, yet its still a Ford, and the cars on the eagle are not the common PTC rolling stock you said they were. Pwned. Legend Rider
Hey, Clown, This is easy, the cars Appear to be PTC, this is the typical PTC Model, They may be NAD Chasis, but how would you know unless you dismantled them... Prove it, fool!
Gordon Bombay
Read this once again, statements from a former ride op at LL telling about how they are NAD cars with PTC electronics, "clown"!
TheKlockster
Classic battle of the ACErs vs the Ride Ops. Only one of the Ride Ops is an ACEr...

Admiral Ackbar
I am an ACEr!!!! And um - the Screechin' Eagle trains are Gerstlauer...
LesbiasaurusREX
No theyre not getauler, they are NAD vehicles outfitted with teh lap bar electronic system made by PTC. The only thing PTC about them is the button the op pushes to make the bar go up. I worked there back in the day and know the ride very well. I ran the screeching eagle, the serpent, and the dodgems, I usually got tossed around to those crews. I guarantee they are NAD vehicles. Ahhh the good ol days of Americana, I wonder what PKI ride op work is like compared to Americana ride op work.
RailRider
God arent we all nerds arguing over what types of coaster trains are on what coasters. I love it
