KIBeast Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Found the story over on coasterbuzz This is a very nice thing for them to do. Although, at first I was thinking that these people had much more to worry about then spending a day at PKI. However, it might make at least one day for them to forget about their troubles. Very classy move. Quote
jzarley Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 While I take a somewhat cynical approach to the free park offer (see my CB post...), I think the really impressive thing is that Viacom donated $1,000,000 in cash to the Red Cross hurricane relief effort. Viacom (with the $ and park admissions) is definitely acting as a good corporate citizen. Quote
shadow2k3 Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Yeah, I'm sure that some of these evacuees will use this to their advantage. It's only right that other parks should follow suit. Very good move by Paramount Parks. ~S~ Quote
Jasper Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 I for one am very proud that pki is doinfg this because it might cheer the kids up that have lost everything. Quote
pkiboy Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 It could also rise the attendence at pki a little bit. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 This has to be one of the most noble things I've heard. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 I think its good and all but I mean how good is it really with most of the paramount parks being no way near the distar area. Quote
tubaman Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 So is it just any day they want to come right? Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 I think its good and all but I mean how good is it really with most of the paramount parks being no way near the distar area. Don't forget that a lot of the residents of the southern Mississippi and Louisana area are scattered around the country. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 I think its any day. Yea Boddah I guess your right but I dont see alot of people taking advantage of this. They are busy enough trying to keep people from looting what they do have and trying to rebuild their lives. Quote
StXsteven Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 I agree it is a nice thing for them to do, but still kind of weird. Quote
Robert_Waring Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 I agree it is a nice thing for them to do, but still kind of weird. If anything, it's a good PR move. Quote
thejoker8388 Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 I guess there will always be cynics in every group. I personally think this is a nice gesture by Paramount and that's all there is to it. Sure, it may not help that many people and may not be that practicle, but it was meant as a nice gesture to those affected and that's exactly what it is. I'm sure there are alot more people around the Paramount parks relocated than people think. Just in my town of Worthington, a small suburb of Columbus, there are some 10 relocated families according to a newspaper story; so I'm sure that in a city like Cincinnati that is a hundred times larger, there are probably a fair amount of relocated families.
