I hate those sucky off-season blues  at least this year we have winterfest but still offseason blues SUCK!

Well since Paramount is appartently revisiting idea's of the past. There had been an idea on the table to keep at least a portion of the park open year round. Maybe they will look into that in the future.

I`ve never heard that idea before. And besides with PKI intense off season deconstructive maintenance program, they would have to then close some rides down in the summer, ala Disney. Another problem with year round operation, is employees. A. They already have a problem getting employees to cover the shifts and hours they are currently open, let alone all year. But that brings up another problem. PKI`s associates are considered seasonal, and as such are hired again every year in the spring, and then let go at the end of the season. I believe that this year, they forbid any seasonal employee from working until March, because they have to be off something like two months a year to be considered seasonal. If they aren`t seasonal, then insurance and overtime rates kick in. And with how many hours some people at PKI work (50-60+) that would be a lot of overtime pay. Heck, even at Coney, they work the rides employees to death. My brother worked a 65 hour week in the summer.

Yes, it seems like they have been cutting back the hours on the first weekend in November. In 2003, they held FearFest that night, so the park was open really late on that last weekend. Well, enjoy the upcoming weekends at the park riding the roller coaster, before they close until April.
