daytrips
i heard the pki campground is opening up agian this year. Is this true? I HOPE SO!!
TheKlockster
No it is not true. The campground is currently torn up with a big ass hotel being built on top of it. Foundation work was under progress last time I rode TOP GUN at the end of the season.
SkootersFan
New campground late 2006 at the earliest.
Captain Picard
I don't think there will be a new campground. If there was going to be one late 2006 they would be working on it now.
Beast79
I think it would be nice to have a campground down by the river.
TheKlockster
With boat rentals! That would be pretty cool!
FOF/Z 4-ever
Already have it. It's called Morgan's Canoe Rental and Campgrounds. Also, you have the Little Miami river Canoe Rentals too.

Gordon Bombay
Jeff Seibert already said a new campground will be coming in 2007, there will not be one for 2006 due to ocnstruction of the new lodge.
Captain Picard
Jeff Seibert said SOB would be fixed in 3 years and that was 3 years ago. Can anyone show me anything that says a new campground will be coming?
Gordon Bombay
^Yeah and when did he say that? Go look for the Great Wolf Lodge article on the enquireres website, jeff seiberyt is quoted saying a new campground would come in 2007. Captain Picard
He said it at the Boomerang Bay tour 2003.
Gordon Bombay
and now 3 years later in 2006, we'll see if he was telling the truth.
Captain Picard
I think he was always telling the truth. He can only tell us what they tell him. SOB was to get better each year and has a long way to go for the last year of repair. I hope it is fixed and gets some new trains that was rumored. Got a link to the article? RailRider
Hopefully PKI does the new campground like CP's Light House Point. Absolutely amazing camping facility, plus the view is great. We can only hope it is done right and not like a KOA. After all we can go to a KOA almost anywhere, but the upscale camping with cabins and all is really a unique experience. Browntggrr
Hopefully PKI does the new campground like CP's Light House Point. Absolutely amazing camping facility, plus the view is great. Lighthouse Point is a nice facility, but the cabins need to be either bigger or the price reduced. They are great in July & August when the weather is warm, but in May, June and September when you have to be in the cabin due to cooler weather the cabin is too cramped. You can get a large room at Hotel Breakers for the same price as a cabin at Lighthouse Point.
AamieAndShawn
Browntggrr well ya they were cramped but they figured no one would be spending alot of time in the cabin. We always camped from middle of May till the end of August and it was always nice, except from some high winds from the tornado that tore through Hamilton. Captain Nemo
I remember camping at the ground once, one of the best experiences of my life (mostly because when I went I was really getting into coasters. I was in the area next to Top Gun. The fireworks at the end were the best.
jlopez
Dang i was hoping there would be a new campground for 06. but all well i guess I got to wait another year. But I know they will be getting a new campground . they even sent out surveys about it, and plus i use to camp every year and the campground was always busy. A lot of people camped there. Its a heck of a lot cheaper than a motel. Plus you get a free ride to and from the park. -----Jennifer
dionmarx
I posted it back in October about a new CG for 2007, but someone thought I was on drugs. Nothing for 2006... But with Seibert gone, and the CBS fiasco, who knows what will happen. I know for sure that 2006 is the first year that our group will not be at PKI, but at CP. ( 45-60 people)None of us bought PKI Season passes this year, the first time since SP were available. Our trip in June has been my family tradition every year since 1987. When th CG is ready, we will be back. Rick
DA RIPPER
He said it at the Boomerang Bay tour 2003. Yea I was at that tour also and was told there would be boardwalk and less concreate in the waterpark, and you won't be able to see from one end to the other, and 3 years later were still burning our feet on the concreate. I know i've been away from the web site for awhile but where did Siebert go to ?
CoastersRZ
Siebert is now working with Schlitterbahn parks as their manager of communications. It was a promotion for him. He left in the middle of December. Although, Maureen Kaiser, Siebert`s partner in crime is still around. Although, Siebert will be missed at PKI. I doubt Siebert`s leaving the park will have much of an effect on the park. The more imporant thing that will affect the park is who becomes the new owners after CBS sells the parks. Well you have to think about this logically, concrete gets warm but doesnt burn your feet, would you rather have asphalt? And I bet theres not boardwalk because then youd have to much liability of splinters of wood coming off and possibly injuring people. TOPGUN1993
The wood could be like the wood like in river town near the train that croses the fake little river by wings.
TheKlockster
They have this fiberglass stuff that is like wood. I know some of the boardwalks at Yellowstone are made of it - and I think the stuff can be seen at Holiday World & Splashin Safari as well.
