CoastersRZ
Well, it wouldn`t have to change the mall dramatically. Add a new flat ride where Flight Commander was at, instead of the upchrage attraction Eurobungee that they have there.
Gordon Bombay
Well Now! If Combat was not the little explorer the other day! Oh I definently was, that was the first time I've ever been back on that side of the park by the town of Kings Mills and the Christmas shop and the high school etc. Ive been aroudn the park on the other side where the huge bridge is a few times before, theres lots of cool stuff around there and its very quiet and beautiful then you get past KI on tylersville rd and have to drive with all the soccer moms in their SUV's and minivans who dont take their cell phones off their ears. Everytime I drive up Tylersville through Mason, somone ALWAYS tries to merge into my lane because they dont look and notice I'm their. Why? because they have their cell phone on! Ahh, sorry for the rant.......bottom line Kings Island and the surrounding area are very beautiful and have some cool things hidden in the woods. Reclaimer
Update 3/20: Plankton's Plunge is vertical http://www3.paramountparks.com/kingsisland...cfm?item_id=
CoastersRZ
Looking good! You can also make out the new location of the Hampton car ride (the umbrella ride) which will be dubbed Go Diego Go.
Skippy
Cool, I didn't know Plankton's Plunge was going to be double-sided That should REALLY help with capasity! It also looks like Go Diego Go (formally Huck's Hotrods) has started vertical construction, same with Avatar: The Last Airbender I was surprised to see the large concrete station Avatar will have. Looks like everything is running smoothly! Things I'd like too see, that haven't been shown yet, are the Nickelodeon Store, Timmy's Airtours (or is it Tommy's Airtours), and the Phantom Flyers I'm not sure if reason we haven't seen any sign of the Flyers yet is because they just want to keep the Flyer's a surprise or if it's because no construction has started on them yet. Either way, I'm excited to see how they turn out! As always, thanks for update Maureen!
CoastersRZ
It`s Tommy`s Airtours. I wouldn`t be surprised if we see another update by the end of the week, based on the pace of vertical construction and changes to the area as they race to complete everything! Reclaimer
It's crunch-time, that's for sure. It always amazes me at the speed of which the construction crews at PKI work.

paramountfan
Hi there! Paramount's Kings Island did post a few new pics of construction progress on Nickelodeon Universe today, March 29. Things are looking colorful! I would imagine that a few weeks after the Park opens, they will be adding "finishing touches". That's what happened with Paramount's Carowinds when they overhauled their Nickelodeon area. Overall, it looks nice. Pics can be found at the Park's Media Center: http://www1.paramountparks.com/KingsIsland...cfm?item_id=
WooferBearATL
WOW I'd bet they're right on schedule (actually) for completion by opening day. They been burning some midnight oil I'd guess.
PKIVortex
It really is looking nice. And the Kids should love all the bright colors of NU. I'm glad to see from the pic of the ice cream stand, that the blue ice cream will be returning.
Jasper
I have rode something like Plankton's Plunge before and it was very enjoyable.
RingMaster
Question: Who wants to tackle Plankton's Plunge on Opening Day and make a complete fool out of ourselves (12 grown men squealing on a kiddie ride...with NO kids on it)?

Jasper
A sponge bob coaster would have been nice. That is what they should have called Top Cat's Taxi Jam because it is already kinda those colors.

TOPGUN1993
What ever happened to this place in HBL ?
CoastersRZ
They tore down that building before the 2003 season, I believe. It was located right next to the age and weight guess game right next to Starbucks.
PKIPoodle
question, sort of on topic of theming (like the spongebob colors thing). i was looking at the construction pics and i saw that the LazyTown SportaCopters have a red track (though i havent seen whats going on with the vehicles), the OddCoaster track is still purple (though the trains are an appropriate pink) and the DP Flyers are pink and green. maybe it's just me but i thought the rides would have more theming when it comes to colors. like pink AND green for the OddCoaster and some blue, pink, and purple/orange theme for the SportaCopters. i dont really know a DP theme color but Pink and green has Fairly OddParents written ALL over it. o well, i guess ill have to wait and see it m'self next sunday. *hopeful and optimistic*

It was located right next to the age and weight guess game right next to Starbucks. Yeah, I actually supervised that location when it was Mushrooms and Rings. Tower Drinks was attached to that location and it had a Push Up's Cart attached to it for a short time. It was funny, all my line workers used to know every song to the shows at International Showplace and used to sing along and do these little dance things as well. Enchanted Voyager
MMMMMM Mushrooms and Rings. Never heard of the place but it sounds good. I'm gonna go eat something now.
WooferBearATL
MMMMMM Mushrooms and Rings. Never heard of the place but it sounds good. I'm gonna go eat something now. Yeah it was a complete little grease pit. (LOL) We used to sell Fried Mushrooms, Onion Rings, French Fries and Fried Shrimp at that stand. Always blew me away about how much business that operation did. Of course you'd have the show rushes from International Showplace but then you'd get slammed every late afternoon through night as International Street filled up. Mmmmm, kinda makes me hungry too. Used to have that and of course beverages. Tower Drinks had Beer, Coke and Pretzels.

RingMaster
Guess who gets to go to Kings Island tomorrow for a little "department training?" Unfortunately, I won't have my camera with me, as it is in the process of being used by a friend of mine, and I think I'll get in trouble for bringing it anyway. But hopefully we'll get a nice walk-around the entire area like they did last year and the year before that. EDIT: Come to think of it, I wonder if they'll let us ride Avatar during training! I remember we had the opportunity to ride Tomb Raider back in Training in 2004....except the ride broke down before we got a chance to ride it. Do they not run all the rides at one point or another during Dry Run? They used to run all the rides years ago.
