Enchanted Voyager
Who else is pumped up about seeing the construction of the park on saturday? I've never seen the park in the off season and i'm excited to see how it looks. also to see how big the new kids land will look. How bout everyone else? CoastersRZ
Well, having been on a couple of off season tours before, the tour will most likely be confined to NU. It will probably not go much farther than NU and IStreet. Be prepared to bring a second pair of shoes if you plan on attending the dinner afterwards as the tour will be traversing unpaved areas with mud. And the new NU will still be the same area as the combined NC and HBL. But yeah, I`m exited to go on the tour! Can`t miss a chance to visit PKI and see it going through its annual cycle of preparing for another fun filled season! Not to mention, it is a good excuse from not doing work on my final studio project!

italianchef
I am very excited about tomorrow's tour. In all honesty, I have NEVER been on the park's property (other than the parking lot) during the off season. Thanks for the tip about wearing old sneakhers. See you tomorrow! RingMaster
As joked about in an earlier topic... Grown Men (and Women) + Construction Tour of a Re-designed Kiddie Land = Fun for the Whole Family. Seriously, though, this is the first construction tour I have ever been on, let alone the first time I have ever hung around with the PKIC "crew" for kicks. Tomorrow should be a VERY interesting tour.
Gordon Bombay
Oh this is going to be a fun tour, scenes for Indiana Jones and the Acers of the Lost Park will be filmed.
TheKlockster
You guys do know they changed their mind and it now costs 8 bucks to even get in the door... Right? Even if you don't get pizza it costs 8 bucks to go to the tour.
CoastersRZ
Yes, I posted the email from Russ Johnson here. It kind of sucks that you have to pay to go on the construction tour. But, you`ll have to deal with it if you want to go.
TheKlockster
Yeah I know you posted it - I posted it again here because it would be a shame for people to go then be turned back cause they have to pay eight bucks. Really it isn't that much money - I don't mind paying it.
SharkGuy
I wont be going because everytime I went to a construction tour it was free I've got better things to do.. 8 bucks oh no its winterfest all over again everything is too costly at the park even the events that were free now cost ya money. TheKlockster
Before you start *****ing keep in mind this is not a park event. It is an ACE event. You should be happy that ACE is even allowing non ACErs to go. They could be strict and just say - we're not invited. But they are allowing us to come. It just costs eight dollars. The ACErs are paying eight dollars too. It is for the pizza. So like I said - either pay the eight dollars and accept the gracious hospitality of ACE - or stop whining. Ahh Adam I wasnt planning on going anyway I've got better things to do than hang with a bunch of ACE'ers naaah I'll wait for opening day because I rather take the whole family rather than waste 8 bucks on just a tour of the park. Why is ACE having this event in the first place? I dont recall any new coasters being built and no I dont count avatar because it isnt a coaster..I rather have the park do it than ace...no offense but I much rather spend my time doing something else. I'm not *****ing about the tour I'm *****ing on how paramount has low par theming and I'm *****ing about IJST..after all it was nothing more than a huge letdown. WooferBearATL
Seriously, it may be similar to a funder raiser for ACE. If the park was charging the money to create marketing I'd probably have an issue with an admission charge. For a group like ACE to be Charging it, I think it's more than fair as it's their event. BESIDES! YA GET PIZZA! Lord! It's getting close to my lunch so I'm getting hungry!
UncleHenry
Not to mention, it is a good excuse from not doing work on my final studio project! This is very, VERY true. Freaking Drawing class... 3 projects due between now and end of quarter, and thats not counting my quarter book!
CoastersRZ
Yeah, so true! A lot of work to be done in the next couple of weeks. But it will all be over in three weeks!

The Interpreter
Combat, are you SURE? http://www.pkicentral.com/forums/index.php...30entry112375 Plus, this has been repeated in various places....to go to the tour, you MUST pay the eight dollars. This is an ACE event, not a park event. \ The ACE Flyer makes CLEAR you pay either way. Unless you are SURE, I wouldn't be correcting others. CoastersRZ
Actually, I believe that you are incorrect. As I posted in this thread, you will indeed have to pay the $8 to partake in the construction tour. Regardless if you plan to stay for the pizza, food and presentation portion of the event. Click on the above link from Russ Johnson to see for yourself about the price. But at least they are allowing non-ACE members to attend. TheKlockster
Yeah - be glad you are allowed to go. I am looking forward to it.
Gordon Bombay
I dont know if I want to pay, I dont like how ACE is all mysterious about where their funds go, that excavation project in Egypt they had a few years back was disasterous and when they tried to get that souveneir cup and feuded with park employees on every contintent before that I lost quite a lot of respect for them. Like I said, parts of Indiana Jones and the Acers of the Lost park will be filmed tommorow.

The money from the tour will go to funding their search for the Lost Park. No really its to pay for pizza.
The Interpreter
Maybe it's just me, but it seems a little hypocritical for combat to criticise ACE so sharply then use its name in a video he is shooting.
UncleHenry
I'm so excited to look at a pile of dirt! But anyways, the event after should be fun. I was a speaker at it last year (for my RCT3 videos), and it was enjoyable.
