PkiJake13
On PKI's website it says one adult season passes cost 106 dollars, is this true. If this is true they cost more than Cedar Point passes. Everything else has about the same price as they normally are. His this just another website glitch or is this for real. Also all the other park have a buy two or more passes and get a discounted price, ours is four or more. http://www2.paramountparks.com/kingsisland...season_pass.cfm -Jake
CoastersRZ
Yeah, it seems a little high. Especially since PKI normally claims their season pass pays for itself in less than two visits. Heck, I bought my season pass back in September for $70, which included the gold upgrade and free parking for 2006. An almost $40 increase. BoddaH1994
Notice that online tickets are only 34.99 now as well. I think that's 10 bucks off from last year.
The Interpreter
For some time now, PKI has required four or more for the "packs," while the other Paramount parks have only required two. PKI is a business...Six Flags is greatly increasing their season pass prices. I note in passing that even at Kentucky Kingdom, historically one of the cheapest of Six Flags passes (but NOT when it was just Kentucky Kingdom!), passes are now $54.99. I also hear that more pass price increases are on the way at Flags. Paramount no doubt is responding by raising theirs, seeing an opportunity. What better time to test than now? Avid fans have already bought their passes. People who buy this late are normally not as price sensitive as those who buy early.
Captain Picard
Some said before that the increasing of their season pass prices was a sign of a new attraction coming. It looks like there is no free parking with that pass now. The free parking came when they stopped putting in big dollar attractions. TheKlockster
It is kind of funny that PKI raises their Season Pass prices - and its still cheaper than the Holi-Season Pass - to Holiday World. Is it possible to get parking at all? Even if you buy a seperate thing?
flightoffear1996
Sure it is all you have to do is park in the drop off lot.
Buckeye-Beast
With PKI individual season pass you get access to BB plus any other Paramount park for $107. To gain access to Soak City plus all Cedar Fair Parks, you are looking at $154. PKI season parking is $30 compared to CP's $60+. I still think PKI has the best value season pass available, besides I can't complain I bought the 4 or more deal at the end of last season for around $60 a piece. The only coaster CP has that make it worth the drive is Raptor I think for the most part the rest are overrated, I can't speak for TTD though because it has never worked when I was there (hopefully this year it will) but now it's not a record holder anymore. BoddaH1994
There are some very good reasons why PKI would have the prices where they are. Of course, this is all speculation. It is my understanding that PKI banks of return visitors. I've been told that as many as 1/3 of the visitors to PKI are season passholders. Now, season passholders make a certain average number of visits to the park per year. I'm not sure what that figure is, but it's definitely higher than non season passholders. So, why raise the price of season passes if they clearly want more of them out? Very simple. You'll notice that the individual price as part of a 4 pack is not much less than half of the price of an individual. Therefore, if someone wants a season pass, they'll be far more inclined to coax friend and family into getting a 4 pack with them. With that, that's 3 more additional passes that are in the hands of people who may not have purchased one initially, thus they are more inclined to visit the park several times during the season. That way, they'll be there buying food, playing games, and purchasing merchendise.. all season long. Now, the lower individual days passes... it's almost like it doesn't fit into the mix, and that's very true, but we're looking at a different market. They want people from out of town to consider PKI as a destination. These "unique visitors" would be very unlikely to purchase a pass if they live several hours away, but they could be turned on by lower admission prices. Unique visitors are probably a lot more likely to spend money within the park as well. All of this is backed up by the Gold Pass deals... why even offer that? Well, people who purchase Gold Passes early in the season (or in the previous season) are far more inclined to visit the park in the early season, therefore that's just more numbers to put under PKI's grand corperate belt. Feel free to argue my observations.
harvesterofyoursorrow
^ Ryan you make very good observations^ Season passes are getting higher and higher because the buyers are somewhat addicted. When you get all these benifits year after year, you want the pass no matter what the cost because you cant stand to go without it. So everybody ends up buying the pass again, even if its 20 or so more bucks (I payed 79.99 last year) Now, for daily passes getting cheaper. They put out so many advertisements on TV, Speedway, Blockbuster, Kroger, and billboards that the price is cheaper, so more people think, HEY! ITS CHEAPER! LETS GO! Hence, even if they get some one time customers, its still attendence, and money spent in park. When you know your only going once a year, you tend to buy more stuff. Season pass holders (the smart ones) know the good deals and where to get things cheap in park. The one time customers will see a resturant and go there because it looks good, not because its cheap. gjb2008123
Meijer is advertising buy 3 get 1 free for Gold Passes. Thats because a four pack is $319.99 (which makes them about $80 each). The regular price is 106.99. That would mean 3 passes would have been around $320. So if you want to think about it like that you are getting 1 free. But meijer doesnt have any better prices then at the park.

peterderkonig
I got my pass at the end of last season, around 70 bucks in a 4-pack, free gold upgrade, free parking for rest of 05 and all of 06, still valid in 06. My friends and I rarely eat in the park. It might be just a personal thing, but we all live about 10-15 minutes away from the park and we generally prefer to head back home around 2:30 and order pizza, play some PS2, and head back for a Beast ride in the dark. I honestly can't taste any difference between KI larosas and normal larosas - but i haven't really been paying attention. On opening day, my friends and I might just test it.
