Did they talk about buying Geauga lake before they did in board meetings?

Probably...but what Elmer was reading wasn't the minutes of board meetings ...it was public earnings statements that are required by the FEC. All of that information for a public company is available for anyone who wants to bother reading it.

Acquisitions aren't discussed in any sort of public forum prior to the actual sale being announced. Otherwise, the stock of the acuired (or acquiring) company would be affected by the sale. There's actually a term for deals like that being discussed prior to disclosure...insider trading.

That's still not to say CF is the buyer...but not to say it isn't either. Until I hear the announcment from CBS and Company X, I'll continue to back one of major real estate investment trusts...with Blackstone topping the list.

agreed. and I am only speaking to the topic of those that are saying that the sale has already been closed..... and just not announced yet.

they may have had conversations, but I would think that if anything has been near-finalized there would be some rumblings of the sale somewhere on reputable "business" sites. not fan sites

There is nothing out there.

But I do like the endorsements that could come from a P&G ownership.... Boomerang Bay now themed with Dial soap (is that P&G???) and Tide detergent (I hope that is P&G as well).... couldn't tell you which brands are there's.

Nope, Dial is not a P&G brand. P&G soaps are Zest, Olay, Old Spice, Camay, Safeguard, and the infamous bar that floats: Ivory, the creation of a mistake by the batch operator.

I'm surprised the current owner (CBS Corp.) hasn't used a P&G product (Ivory) for a retheme of the wave pool: Will it Float? The Ride (for all you Late Show fans)

I have seen many things show up on this site before it was announced. I have seen some that know come right out and post whats going on and people on here don't get it.

In the last week we have had more than one member post about the same thing and they have nothing to do with each other. I wouldn't be surprised if there is something to this Cedar Fair rumor.

More feasable than P&G buying it. Why would P&G go outside the market they are in and take this big of a leap? Use your heads people!

I don't think anyone was realistically saying that P&G were purchasing the park/parks.

It was more of humor from how I read all the posts.

I'll ask my bro, he is the accountant for Procter & Gamble. He prolly will know.

Wow...a company P&G's size only has one accountant? He must be REALLY busy laugh.gif

I have to be honest...sometimes reading this site is a true exercise in restraint wink.gif

he is in charge of a lot of people, hes the main man so keep your little comments to yourself. ---jenni

Not that relevant, but this would only further explain the rumored (or fact?) sighting of Kinzel & Co. visiting the park a while back. After all, purchasing an amusement park (especially one that pulls over three million guests a year) isn't an overnight decision...

^Kinzel and some Cedar Point friends come almost every year to check out the park, Cedar Point cars are usually sighted once a year in the inner lots of Kings Island. He came in 2003 to check out Delirium and I believe I even saw him there in 04. This year I've seen many people walking around in suits but Dick Kinzel has come many times before, so he could've been on just a routine friendly visit that may have had nothing to do with the sale, but I would love it if CP purchased us. Kinzel is a great guy.

CF is interested in more of the PPI parks than just PKI...

however, they are not interested in one specific PPI park.

Shaggy

Could this mean that CF is already sure on the other four, but are also considering KI?

At least we know it not for sure......yet. I still don't particularly like the idea of CF imposing its style into PKI's distinct atmosphere. sad.gif

Yeah, talk about three posts. Have you ever heard of the edit button? And I am not a "fool" for owning individual stocks.

I feel that Busch could also be the best choice to buy the parks. Whether they are interested in them is another question. I don`t think Universal is looking to acquire any more parks. Wasn`t GE trying to unload Universal itself, so why would they want to acquire five more parks?

Those were all replys to different people... It is easier to understand if I comment on seprate quotes... wacko.gif
