Can we at least be certain that CF will maintain and upkeep Paramount Parks' themed attractions (Survivor, IJ:ST, Tomb Raider, Hollywood Stunt Spectacular, etc.)? From what I've heard, Cedar Point's Disaster Transport is utter crap now. Will this mean they won't even bother to fix what was wrong with the effects on TR:TR, IJ:ST, and FOF?

I think that is a BIG question make. They certainly don't have a good track record related to themeing.

They need to take out a ride like Days of Thunder and some games in Action Zone to build a flat ride, maybe a Topple Tower or maybe an Enterprise, something small to fit in.

Well Action Zone only has two games Action Blast (outside Festhaus) and Aunt Geralds Cornhole but I could see your point of clearing that area and putting in a cool attraction. Cornhole may go but not Action Blast

Yeah, the Action Blast is in a prime game spot and doesn`t really take up much room. If they ever removed Days of Thunder for something, I`m assuming that the Cornhole game would also be gone. That spot has been occupied by numerous games over the years including a Jacob`s Ladder.

The area that needs a flat ride is Coney Mall. One would go perfectly on the former site of Flight Commander (the current Eurobungee site).

i can't believe the Flight Commander spot has been vacant that long. Even though the Euro-Bungee thing is there at the moment.... $8 to jump on a trampolene- uh, yea.... though I did see some suckers willing to do so. Would have been a great spot for the Flyers.

Was riding The Racers last week... Can someone verify, are the antique cars still lurking? Must say I'm a bit suprised they didn't make a return in NU.

Maybe they will do it in the 2007 season? At any rate, I miss the tiques as it gave me my first "driving" experience.

TopGun1993, great ariel shot of PKI. Where did you get that? Or, did you take it yourself?

Yes, the `Tiques are still parked over by Delirium. One has to wonder why they are holding on to them. Future use for them, or the fact that they might reuse them in the future and they don`t want to get rid of them just in case they decide to reuse them.

Probably because they are expensive to run (gas), why would another park build a new track for such a low thrill attraction, and the tiques aren't cheap. I would say that Paramount was probably trying to sell them sad.gif couldn't and they are just still hanging around.

Yet I have still had some guests ask where they have gone.

Also I notice that one lucky tique is still on display outside the

Action Theatre

Well that all comes down to Cedar Fair because they are going to start running it in 2007 and if you get a season pass do you think they will give admission to all the other Cedar Fair parks like Paramount does?

That has yet to be decided. What I can see them doing is, you can buy a Kings Island season pass that would get you into every Cedar Fair park except Cedar Point. A Cedar Point add on pass may cost $30 dollars more.

Tell that to Kings Dominion who just bulldozed a line of trees for a go-kart track called Thunder Raceway next door to Turbo Coaster (I'm guesing it's next door to TC). dry.gif

No, rest assured that Kings Island has some sort of capital expansion coming in 2007. Cedar Fair is going to honor all the capital expenditure plans at all of the Paramount Parks for 2007. The names and themes might be changed from what they were originally intended to be but the actual hardware will be the same. Sometime between now and opening day 2007, the park will tell us what they are doing. Most likely, at least a hint will be given before the end of the 2006 season.

Railrider, Cedar Fair hasn`t made any comments on exactly how they are going to run the season pass program next year. There has been no comment as to whether or not they will have a pass that will allow you access to all three of the Cedar Fair parks in Ohio, let alone all the Cedar Fair parks.

Once again from the breakfast I had up North a few weeks back this is what I was told and it makes perfect sense. People that normaly go to CP or GL with their seasson pass will probably take atleast one weekend and travel South to KI now and likewise for people that only go to KI with their seasson pass will travel North to hit the other Ohio parks.

How many seasson pass holders make at least one trip during the summer where they can use their KI seasson pass at another park? Makes good business sense, not to mention how it will help increase cash flow at all the parks. More access and another reasson to go.

Since any material public disclosures must be made to the entire public at the same time, I am quite certain Mr. Kinzel couched any disclosures he made at that breakfast with terms like "We are looking at....," "We intend..." "A program that did [thus and such] would be good....", etc.

I doubt Cedar Fair has even decided what the season pass program will look like yet. They no doubt will want at least some input from the managers at Paramount, and they might even want to do some surveying and testing before they decide.

For example, one of the biggest issues will be whether or not to to allow processing the year before the pass is valid (Cedar Fair typically doesn't, while Paramount not only lets new (and renewing) season pass buyers process, but also to use that pass for admission the remainder of the current year.

Then there are parking issues (valid only at home park? Other parks' season pass parking available? Paramount typically won't sell season pass parking unless your pass if from the park where you want to buy parking....want season pass parking to two parks? Got to buy two passes...at least at Paramount).

And season passes bought early at Paramount usually include parking as a free perk. To my knowledge, most Cedar Fair parks charge additional for season pass parking, though Dorney used to include AND have a season pass parking lot--the latter is gone as of this year, and passholders there are NOT happy about it).

Then there is how you get in a park other than your own with a pass. Paramount makes you go to guest relations...which until just recently this year didn't even open until the gates did. Practices at Cedar Fair vary all over the place, from going to GR to using the stroller gate (Soak City gate at Cedar Point...and you find this out ONLY after you stand for 20 minutes in the ticket selling line you used to use at that gate, ugh)

I would pay more if I get more. Three Ohio parks on one pass should cost more but should be less than three separate passes.

I usually get my CF pass at KBF. Obviously, I need to pay for parking when I go to CP or GL. I wonder how some of these issues will be worked out.

Then, there is also the whole other issue of the many perks that Paramount has offered thier passholders over the years. The gold pass perks such as early ride times, an exclusive parking area, meal discounts often have enticed people to not only buy a pass, but to spend money in the parks. Will the gold pass and all its perks be a thing of the past after this season? It will be interesting to see what happens. Cedar Fair will have to make decisions soon. As PKI has typically started selling next year`s passes in August.

Cedar Fair offers similar perks at Cedar Point---early entry, exclusive ERTs, etc. But they call it Joe Cool, and they charge extra for it.

And they often offer the same perks to guests staying on their resort properties.

I also wonder if this means Kings Island will begin offering a "thoosie event" similar to Coaster Mania at Cedar Point or Coaster Madness at Dorney...
