Reclaimer
Just found that same release. That was quite a sudden (yet expected) and transparent transition...I figured there'd be an announcement somewhere about a change in such a high-level management position. CoastersRZ
Yeah, I was kind of surprised they never made any mention of it.
Reclaimer
So has anyone on here met the guy yet? Probably too soon to tell, but I'm curious as to how often he shows up in the park to interact, if at all.
CoastersRZ
Well, I never have met the guy, at least not yet. But he was at the Great Wolf press construction tour today as one of the keynote speakers as seen here.
ragerunner
Maybe they are waiting to annouce what will be new a KI (and other parks), until they announce the flagship park's new ride. You have to first make sure the flagship park gets it media attention before the step children are introduced.
CoastersRZ
I think the announcement of Cedar Point`s new ride has absolutely nothing to do with the announcement at Kings Island. The only impact will be that they likely will not want to announce the rides at the same time of each other. Instead, they will likely want to spread ou the announcements so that the various parks are in the news for longer amounts of time.
ragerunner
I was only being sarcastic, I was just making a point about Cedar Fair calling Cedar Point their 'flagship' park. Since most of the parks are in different media markets they could announce the rides at anytime with out interfering with another parks announcement. KIBeast
Uhh I forget what else but I do know that a food location could be changing and possibly a new food stand addition I can see the Happy Days diner being turned into a Coasters restaurant. TOPGUN1993
Vortex got storage bins from Tractor Supply just like Delirum bins.

I can see that happening as well PKIbest.
spngbob
I can see the Happy Days diner being turned into a Coasters restaurant. It wasnt the stand I was referring too but I dont want to say anything lol.. Sorry I know, I hate people that say they know but dont tell, but I couldnt resist.. From what I understand one stand could be renovated and another could have outside help And the GM is in the park every day, he drives a go kart but I did see him yesterday on a bike lol Hate to say this but it seems to me that the very upper management (like a GM for example) doesnt really care about the associates in the park.. I asked how one Cedar Fair guy was doing and he just said good and kept walking and it was 8 AM so its yeah I just thought it was kind of rude but thats just my opinion! (and one person doesnt represent them all) Anywayyys...
KIBeast
I just kind of figured by the way that Happy Days Diner is decorated, it would be very easy to convert it over to a Coasters. Just a little deduction, no insider information here.
Captain Picard
I can see it as Johnny Rockets.
KIBeast
That would probably work too. I've not seen Johhny Rockets, so, if it has a 50's type theme, then Happy Days could become that as well.
hauntguy
I'm hoping that CF REALLY surprises us and puts in a TGI Fridays... gotta love those potatoe skins! LOL! -Hauntguy
CoastersRZ
Yeah, Johnny Rockets has the 50 styles theme, and would actually fit in quite well as a replacement for Happy Days Diner. There is a Johnny Rockets over in Kenwood across the street from Kenwood Town Center.
Vortex
I can see it as Johnny Rockets. All of the Cedar Fair parks have a Johnny Rockets or a TGI Fridays. I hope the Paramount parks get them in the future. Its nice to get something other than theme park food.
CoastersRZ
Something other than theme park food? When was the last time you visited Kings Island? LaRosa`s, Skyline, Chick-Fil-A, Subway, and Graeter`s are not "theme park" food. Granted all these places offer limited menus and have the typical outrageous theme park prices, but they are still not your average run of the mill theme park food. And other than Chick Fil-A, those restaurants are rather unique to the Cincinnati Area. Johnny Rockets and TGI Fridays are a dime a dozen at any mall in America. The Interpreter
They don't have Subway in Atlanta? Wow.
CoastersRZ
Not to mention that there are a few Skyline`s down in Florida, and some as far away as Michigan. And Graeter`s has been known to be ordered by Oprah Winfrey as one of her favorite ice creams (although other than their online store, they are strictly based in the Cincinnati area). WooferBearATL
They don't have Subway in Atlanta? Wow. It's called MARTA. Only a portion of it is submerged through Midtown and Downtown.
The Interpreter
Uh, you seem to have missed that of the restaurants CoastersRZ listed at KI ....right in the middle of Skyline, LaRosa's, etc., was Subway! To which you said: And other than Chick Fil-A, those restaurants are rather unique to the Cincinnati Area. Ah, never mind, I guess you had to be there! I'd rather that Subway was The Varsity North anyway, but that'll never happen! (Even if the Varsity in the Northern Atlanta suburbs does look like the building was designed by the Imagineers...) Swanky333
I already see one thing CF is doing. Yesterday, I noticed in the giftshop a "Fear the Four" shirt. I'm not gonna agree that Top Gun makes the list while FoF doesn't (unless this is foreshadowing FoF's departure), but it definatly resembles the "Fearsome Five" of CP (and possibly other parks) FoF won't go bye bye, it's like one of the best rides there, its the best LIM launch coaster I've ever been on, it was a breakthrough in technology, and if they get rid of FoF, then they won't have any place to stick the King Cobra behind. May she rest in pieces.
Reclaimer
You'd better hope CF doesn't forget to call you and ask for your input on their future expansions. You might be terribly upset. Kinzel: "Woah! We almost forgot to call Swanky333 and make sure this isn't a favorite of theirs!"
coaster1robert
It could be coasters, they have one at CP and other parks,it's a 50'S Food Joint.
