coastergirl
Are the Action Zone ERT over for the weekends now? I know that weekends in May gold pass holders were able to get in at 9:30 and ride for a half hour before the general public, but I do not see anything about it on the PKI website any more. Any thoughts? Thanks!

TheKlockster
I would be afraid to use the speed lane. In my experience - guests who waited 1.5 hours to ride something don't like being cut. I have never had the opportunity to use the speed lane - but now that I do - I don't think I will use it often...
CoastersRZ
Well, when they staff the speed lanes correctly, it is a great perk. Although you do get some nasty looks from some of the park guests!
TheKlockster
I know - I have staffed the speed lanes before. That is why I am afraid of going through one myself.
The Interpreter
It will be interesting to see what, if anything, Cedar Fair does to those speed lanes.

Gordon Bombay
It will be interesting to see what, if anything, Cedar Fair does to those speed lanes. Maybe they will make them effective and efficent for both the employees and the guests or atleast well inform the guests on how they properly work since Paramount couldnt seem to grasp that concept at all last year. Disney has electronic efficent systems with directions clearly defined, while PKI didnt provide any paperwork for the first batch of gold pass holders. To get their time tickets, which they were usualyl annoyed when they found out that they had to get a ticket, they had to go to the booth under the eifel tower. Disney has the ticket dispensers right at the ride. Many times gold pass holders assume their gold passes automatically allow them to cut line and just hop on over into the speed lane (which is usually paralell to the regular lane) and assume they can use their gold passes to cut which is nto the case. Yes, there is some ignorance on the guests part but that for the most part can be avaoided by a REAL and EFFICENT speed pass system, but seeing how Paramount has alreayd cut back everything this year I doubt we'll see that. I pray Cedar Fair does a better job at this.

The Interpreter
Well, Cedar Fair did have a ride reservation system, of sorts, at Cedar Point...called, if memory serves, Free Lane. You could get a handstamp for two selected major coasters, which were given out at different times and strictly limited in number. Then you went to the speedlane at the time that appeared on your hand...say at 11 Millennium Force stamps were given out, the first 100 or so may say 12, the next 1, etc. It worked well, but was discontinued. . . TheKlockster
With Cedar Fair taking over next year, they may not even be a Gold Pass next season. Yeah that will be interesting to see. I mean the only reason I like the Gold Pass is that if you buy it the year before you get free parking. I never use any of the "perks". Does Cedar Point have any kind of Season Pass or Addon which allows you to have unlimited free parking? If not that would seriously suck... I just looked at the CP site - their season passes are CHEAPER than ours. But their parking pass is 65 bucks - compared to ours at 25. I guess we just have to wait and see how it goes. coastergirl
Who cares what happens. I care too. If you buy the season passes for PKI before the season ends they are a whole lot cheaper than CP. If you add in the other parks to the CP season pass it jumps to $155 and that's alot of money when you are talking about a family of 4! The Interpreter
In the current scheme of things, a Cedar Point pass DOES include all other Cedar Fair parks EXCEPT Geauga Lake. That is the only park you must pay an additional fee to have included in your pass. So, I really don't understand your comment... Especially since now to get both KI and CP passes, you have to buy BOTH passes, or at least buy one pass from each chain--Cedar Fair and Paramount Parks. I think that's it's pretty safe to say that with CP and PKI being close in distance their regular season pass would not include PKI. Thier regular season pass currently does not even include thier own waterpark. I do not buy a CP season pass currently so it would be more money for us. For the same perks that the PKI pass offers we would pay close to $700 next year for passes if the prices stay the same price as they are this year. Now if the passes are $100 each and include PKI I would not hesitate to but them.
The Interpreter
I think it is a fair statement to say that under no circumstances do I see season pass prices going down. At Six Flags, Cedar Fair, Disney or anywhere else. I DO see Cedar Fair cutting gate admission. And I figure season pass prices will go UP. Perhaps drastically so. Buckeye-Beast
So anywho, does anyone know when or if PKI still has early ride times in AZ on the weekends?

TheKlockster
My point was that I am hoping they don't decide to just make an "Ohio Pass" as it has been called on here - and make it mandatory that you purchase it - and have it cost like 200 bucks. I hope they at least make the Ohio Pass reasonably priced (100-125 bucks) or have an option to just get a PKI pass.
The Interpreter
My prediction is at least three levels of passes, if not four: --Single Park Pass. --Ohio Park Pass. --Platinum Park Pass good at all CF parks, but not including perks except at home park...parking is extra... --Super Platinum (or some such thing_ pass good at all CF parks, including preferred parking, early park entry and discounts on food and merchandise at ALL CF parks. That's just my guess....I am sure they don't even know yet. I do wonder if they will process the year before, as Paramount always had. Cedar Fair pass processing, IMHO, leaves a LOT to be desired. This is one area they could learn a LOT from Paramount Parks...at least how Paramount did it UNTIL this year.

This brings me back to my original question. On the PKI websie it says "Early Rides in Action Zone- Major attractions in Action Zone open from 9:30am-10:00am including: FACE/OFF, Drop Zone, Delirium, and Top Gun." but it does not say which days it applies to and it is not on the calendar on your link. The Interpreter
That's because it was in May, which no longer shows... I don't think there is any gold pass early entry in June. Anyone?
