CrazyKay07
If Wicked Twister is a thrill ride, so is Reptar. Sheesh.... With thrills like that, why go anywhere else? Wicked Twister is far better than Reptar. WT has a wicked launch and great twists up both spikes. Reptar can hardly compare. It just meanders. I agree! I went to Cedar Point on 7/30 and Wicked Twister was a lot of fun, and so were all the other coasters I rode.

Mr.Son of Beast
There is no way it would be a 500 foot launched coaster because all the the bases for supports make it look as though the track will make a knot and tangle.

Braves0511
A couple of months ago, didn't I see something on Cedar Point's blog, trying to dispell the rumor they were getting a ride called Maverick just because they had the name copyrighted... That's kind of funny...
screamingnight
This is a HUGE mystery! What kind of coaster could it be?

cstrwomann
Judging from the track it's Intamin and probably an Aqua Trax coaster there's one in Korea at Lotte World it's called Atlantis Adventure.
Captain Picard
Next year Cedar Point will unleash Maverick , which is already under construction at the park. All Im going to say about this coaster is that it will be absolutely amazing and long. "Are you ready for some serious sidewinding?" As we all know Intamin track is on site, but this new coaster will be a cross between Millie and X. Something Intamin likes to refer to as a Wing Rider type coaster. Seating will also be 4 across for this new Intamin bad boy. Get ready to make the trek to CedarPoint next year and pay homage to the newest member at Americas RollerCoast. Things are not looking good for the seating you said would be 4 across. The only thing you have said thats correct is that it's intamin. Who was telling you all this BS? KIBeast
^Exactly. It's not going to be a wing walker and with the inversions, I would say that it mostly rules out Aquatrax too. Although, I am stumped on this one. I believe an announcement is coming September the 8th.

RailRider
Unsure how you have confirmed Maverick will not be an Intamin WingRider? Just because track is currently close to the ground the WingRider has a different vehicle than the Arrow 4th dimension. Look at what PortAventura is getting and compare its layout to that of the footers poured at CP. I will take your appology in about 8 days. TheKlockster
I don't think its an Aqua Trax though I could be wrong.

I was agreeing with some people over at Pointbuzz because of clearance issues I believe was the reason stated. Not necessarily ground clearance. Maybe I should link to that thread to get a better explanation.
RailRider
AquaTrax that goes upside down??? That would be a little unnerving, more so than woody that goes upside down. Could you imagine those little boats going upsdie down. The pictures are a little deceiving. They do make everything look a little closer together, but if you see it first hand there looks to be enough clearance. Then again they (at PointBuzz) speculate just like us, but I will just stick to what my I have heard from reliable sources and with what I have seen with my own 2 eyes. Also check out the layout of PortAventura's new coaster which is a confirmed WindRider with the aerial layout of Maverick's footers. The designs are similar. Captain Picard
If you look at Pointbuzz today you can see how tight it is to some supports. There is no room for anything but a regular coaster to fit.
KIBeast
^That's what I was thinking. Not enough clearance. I really hope it's not like the one going in a Port Aventura. It looks really boring.
Browntggrr
It could just be a good, old- fashioned looper, but with the twist of being launched. Something like StormRunner, just longer.
KIBeast
Here is a link to an article from the Toledo Blade about how the latest construction at Cedar Point is causing an uproar in the coaster communities. Maverick Article Tggr, it's going to be a little more than something along the lines of Storm Runner. According to the article, CP is going for some record with this one. No one knows just yet. It may be some kind of new inverion, maybe a record for most LIM/LSM launches, or maybe longest steel coaster. They have something up their sleeves for sure. I guess we'll all know in a matter of days.
Captain Picard
I think the LIM thing came from what is now installed and looks to be a brake run. The footings they are working on now look to be for something larger than we have been seeing. I would guess that it will be like StormRunner for now till I see something to make me think different. KIBeast
Why are you so sure it's a brake run?
RailRider
I honestly doubt CP builds another Rocet Coaster because of the problems they have had with TTD launch system. Then again it wouldn't be as fast nor as tall as TTD. Still going with LIM launch because they are very reliable and not quite as complex as the hydralic launch. A lot of folks are still neglecting the fact that there are flags over by CedarCreek Mine Ride also. Theres more to this than what we see so far. Also haven't confirmed it with my own eyes at CP yet, but there are rumors of green track spotted at the point...
Captain Picard
Why are you so sure it's a brake run? I am not but it does look to be at the end to me. Anything over by CedarCreek Mine Ride I think has nothing to do with it. When I was there and seen what footings was there, it looked to me as that was it. It didn't look like it was going anywhere but where it is at now.
Browntggrr
The whole green track theory/ story is a HUGE misunderstanding. Not as bad as Magnum sinking, but getting close.
