The Interpreter
Nice. I just wish there were an ULTRA that included parking at ALL Cedar Fair parks. . .
Losantiville
I was hoping for the same. Parking at the Ohio parks would be great!
KIfan73
I don't see anything about free parking for renewing pass holders...
Guest kwindshawne
I guess the parking is where we will get hit-not too cool about that part
KIfan73
If they have changed back to no free parking, I am going to consider Cedar Fair a pretty shady organization.
Captain Picard
As I said I in the other pass topic I called and they said you get free parking at PKI with renewal.
The Interpreter
Yeah...they need to think about that. Parking at all three Ohio parks, at the very least, should be available for a price. What about people who live in Columbus? Want to encourage them to go to the other parks? OR NOT????
CoastersRZ
Yeah. I`m just bummed that a KI pass is not essentially worth less, because in past years, a $75 pass included admission to another four amusement parks. Now, as a KI pass holders, I have to fork over $50 to get that right. If I were to only visit CP once next year, it would make more sense just to get a KI pass, and pay general admission up at Cedar Point. And because I will be in Grad School at UC next summer, it is unlikely that I would be able to get up there more than one day. Anyone know if they started selling the passes at the park this weekend? EDIT: Just checked Canada`s Wonderland site, and it appears that their passes have also returned. It looks like our friends north of the border will not be able to buy a Maxx pass. CoastersNSich
I've got a feeling I might even try the Maxx Pass Plus, since I've never been to Soak City. Some asked for separately gated water park access, and looks like they will receive. The Junior/Senior pricing options for Maxx and Maxx Plus was a great move, too. But I'm guessing that the Kings Island passes won't include gold perks nor free parking for renewing passholders... Of course, I'm waiting for what Cedar Point is going to do for their passes, including Maxx options.
PKIVortex
Someone in another thread said they called PKI Today and asked about the free parking to renewing pass holders, and they said yes. So hopefully we do. I don't even see a mention on pki.com about parking passes.
CoastersNSich
Regarding parking at other parks, and entry to other parks with Maxx Passes, Michigan's Adventure Season Pass FAQ page may give good hints...
The Interpreter
No refunds on issued but not redeemed certificates? I've said all along that season pass processing and admissions were not strong points when it comes to Cedar Fair customer service. That about proves it. They must be terrified that people will get on the Internet, shop for the best deal, show up at some other park and then try to get a refund on the original certificate. Somehow this all reminds me of the VERY cumbersome process they made at Geauga Lake for getting a refund on a Six Flags pass the year they took over Geauga Lake. Between that and not initially honoring the DARE, scholarship and other free tickets that Six Flags had issued for the coming season, CF managed to offend a LOT of people that year. And they wondered why admissions suffered. If they do not offer a Geauga Lake parking option at Cedar Point, at the very least, Geauga is going to be in even more trouble. At least in Ohio, they almost HAVE to offer parking passes to the other Ohio parks with an Ohio CF pass. They are going to be chasing AWAY business if they do not. It's really quite simple, do they want friends of the park to go to their other parks and spend money or not? Or do they, like :Six Flags, want to start by chasing off occasional visitors at the gate with the parking fee and chasing off what might be a good spending two to three time a year visitor with the hassle factor? Note, too; that all parking passes, at Michigan's Adventure at least, are now stickers that go on the car. I hope they are at least on the inside of the car. Great Adventure this season foolishly attempted to have people put stickers on the outside of the car (brilliant move, that....NOT....imagine how many of those would be get torn off in the parking area in New Jersey!) Again, someone at CF is worried sick that a passholder will go with a friend in the friend's car and the friend won't have to pay for parking. Sigh. CoastersRZ
And hopefully, KI will not make parking passes be a sticker that is valid only on one car, like it will be at Michigan`s Adventure. It is much easier and more efficient if the parking pass is actually on the season pass photo ID.
PKIVortex
I agree, cause not everyone drives the same car all the time. I know myself I don't always go with the same person, or even drive the same vehicle evertime I go to the park. So hopefully KI's parking passes will be on the pass, and no a sticker you have to put on your car. If it is, I'm sure they will be some complaints. ATTENTION 2006 RENEWING SEASON PASSHOLDERS: Purchase your 2007 Season Pass & come to the park to have your photo id taken by October 29, 2006 & you will receive FREE Parking! from pki.com season pass page. threed
hi all. Just to pass on some more info. about the season pass. First, as reported, if you are a renewing season pass holder, you can get free parking for 07. They will collect your old 06 gold pass and code the 07 pass for free parking. You do not recieve your pass at this time, only a temporary paper pass. Next spring, the temporary pass would then be converted to the "offical" pass. What is un-clear for 07 is the fact as of right now, there are no perks for the regular Kings Island pass (early rides, bring-a-friend free, etc.). This seems a let down as a "gold" perks pass gets changed for a regular season pass. I hope Cedar Fair would include more perks in the future. The person I spoke to today indicated that the free parking was something that Cedar Fair does not usally include with the pass and thought that was the only "perk" included this time and there would be no others. Still the price is about the same as last year and the waterpark is still included.
The Interpreter
Wait til you hear the PKD deal: A season pass good for PKD only is $64.95. The MAX pass good for ALL Cedar Fair ride parks is $89.95. They are on sale now and will get you into the parks for the rest of this year and 2007. http://www3.paramountparks.com/kingsdomini...season_pass.cfm Why the difference between KI and KD prices? I bet BGE being nearby whereas KI has NO significant competition has something to do with that.
CoasterKid
Anyone know if they'll be selling parking passes next season? I know I can't back to KI this season so the free parking isn't an option for me and being able to have (even when I had to buy it) parking factored in to my season pass has been one of those conveniences that made me go more often.
The Interpreter
The way things are going right now, I doubt anyone at Cedar Fair KNOWS they will sell parking passes next season, as plans are subject to change. Currently, new passbuyers are being charged $34.99 for parking, if they want it. I would imagine that parking passes will be available next season, but they will probably cost more than that. I would not bet my life on the fact that they will be available though.

coasterville
Check the season pass page at PKI.COM, kwindshawne. They have clearly stated that a renewing seasonpassholder will get a complimetary 2007 parking pass. It seems they have changed the verbage though to make the terms of the free parking offer clearer: (From PKI.COM)------------------------------------------- ATTENTION 2006 RENEWING SEASON PASSHOLDERS: Purchase your 2007 Season Pass and come to the park to have your photo ID taken by October 29th and you will receive FREE season-long parking for the rest of this year and the entire 2007 season*! *Free parking is valid for Paramount's Kings Island only. There are numerous parks that do not sell parking passes. Some have free parking! But, seriously, several Six Flags parks do not sell parking passes. A few of those offer coupon books for five parking days for $X dollars, not refundable.
cstrwomann
Parking passes have been put on the passes in the past years at Cedar Point with Joe Cool club for an extra fee. Are they going to still have the Gold Pass Perks or have they done away with these also?
Captain Picard
Having to buy parking passes at each park could have to do with a local parking tax. I don't know if it's the case here or if there is a parking tax.

Their Maxx Pass is $89.95 (same as KD) Carowinds, like KI, is also offering the Maxx Plus Pass (including separately gated water parks) for the same price is KI, $149.95. I don't know if it's the case here or if there is a parking tax. If it's like Paramount Parks is now, or Cedar Fair parks are now, you will NOT be able to buy JUST a parking pass at another park. The only place you will be able to get a parking pass is where you have a season pass. If, for instance, I want to buy a parking pass to Kings Dominion, I have to buy a season pass to Kings Dominion. They will NOT sell me just a parking pass, even if I have a season pass from another Paramount Park, which I do. I have always found this very annoying. Most (but not all) Six Flags parks will sell any passholder a parking pass, if they sell parking passes.

The Interpreter
You don't even want to know (and yes, one of them is for Six Flags Over Georgia, and one for Six Flags Great Adventure, needless to say!). And some of them are not on the window, but carried in an envelope...by the way, Cedar Fair has never trusted people to put the sticker on the window, the parking booth attendant must put it on FOR YOU, and it goes on the OUTSIDE of the window. I can't even make stuff up that is THIS silly: Voucher may be redeemed at the main Cedar Point Causeway tollbooth for a parking decal, registered and affixed to a single, non-commercial vehicle. Weather permitting, parking decals will be issued from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on a daily basis beginning in the spring of 2006, through the last park operating day of the 2006 Cedar Point season. Since parking decals are affixed to the outside of the vehicle windshield, decals will not be issued during periods of rain. 2006 Season Passholder may redeem their voucher for a vehicle parking decal as described above or choose to have the Parking Pass on their Season Pass Photo ID. In order to place the Parking Pass on the Season Pass ID card, the Parking Pass exchange voucher must be redeemed at the Season Pass Center at Cedar Point's main gate when the photo ID is prepared, or when voucher for Season Pass renewal is mailed in. If this Parking Pass option is selected, the Parking Passholder whose picture appears on the ID card must always be present in the vehicle for the Pass to be valid. Cedar Point Parking Passes are not valid at any other Cedar Fair parks. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/admission..._passes/faq.cfm Head doesn't hurt yet? Look at THIS dandy chart for where your 2006 Cedar Fair pass is and is not good: http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/admission...rk_validity.cfm Which I guess brings up a good question. When you renew a PKI, PKD or PCWi 07 pass right now, they take your 06 one and issue a temporary one. Will THAT pass get you in the other Paramount Parks the rest of this season? (It should, it was sold on that condition...)
CoastersRZ
Now that is a very good question! As you stated it should. But will it actually work that way?
