We arrived at the park at about 10 30 and we got cut off at the part where it branches off into Nick Central and Rivertown by The Eiffel Tower. I did not know that they play the national anthem before the park opens. Well we rode The Beast and it was one of the worst rides i hvae had on it due to it being so slow. I wish that for one day they would just let it run wild. Up next was Tomb Raider. Then back to The Beast which was going a little bit faster. Italian Job had no line so we rode it. It was way different than what i had remembered because the launch was a lot more powerful and it seemed a lot faster. Then it was Flight of Fear which had no line either. It was pitch black in there so it was one of the best rides of the day. Back to Vortex after Fligh Of Fear. Then onto The Racer recaR. Backwards this time and we got a little bit of airtime, but it is hard to do with the seatbelts and the lap bar going down so tight after the first frop. Still a pretty good ride. We walked past Delirium and it had a short line compared to what it usually has. Still a great ride. Ate in the festhaus. Went to ride Drop Zone but they had it shut down due to wind. Face/Off was down but i dont know to what because they had it running before the park opened but it was making a funny noise like a siren or something. Top Gun next which seemed like it had gottena little bit faster. While i was gong up the lift hill i saw the SOB Perimiter Surveiilance van and the old Beastie photo trailer. We then looped back to the forwards Racer, The Beast again, and then to what impressed me the most that day, Avatar. We unfortunately had to sit in the first rown in the middle after a 20 minute wait. I was really impressed with this ride because it gives you a weird feeling spinning and your car going up and down the track. We were planning on riding Italian Job again but it was shut down and the ride attendants at the gate said they had no idea when it would open but welined up in the front anyway and waited about 15 min. We gave up on it and then headed over to Top Gun and rode it twice more. When we were leaving i heard somebody on the intercom talking and i i am not mistaken he said he was the undertaker. So i am wondering if this was our very own HauntGuy? Overall a nice trip to the park but as always ride in the morning because everything gets crowded. But i was dissapointed because of all the rides that were down. Face/Off, Drop Zone, SOB (DUH), Italian Job, and i heard somebody say The Beast had some downtime to. I am wondering what happend to cause all these rides to be down. The Fearfest theming looked great, i especially like the eery glow on the Eiffel Tower.

Face Off and Drop Zone were down due to the high winds. I was also there in the afternoon. Got in line for The Beast shortly before they shut off their line. This was around 5:30. The ride did not reopen the rest of the night. Italian Job was open, as I rode it in the afternoon with about a ten minute wait.

The wierd moment of the day came when we were in line for TRTR. They had Phantom Theater queue music playing in the cave entrance! Rather odd to hear the Maestro refer to the theater when we were supposed to be in a tomb, lol.

Face Off sounds a siren when they run their first train of the day. This is the last warning to warn anyone who may be in the rides restricted areas to get out now. All the rollercoasters including some of the flat rides have warning sirens. On Italian Job and Flight of Fear their warning sirens are the same "red alert" sound as heard on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Rugrat's Runaway Reptar plays the same warning siren that you can hear in various levels of Goldeneye for Nintendo 64. Glad to hear you had a good time and that it wasn't too badly crowded.

Hey let's give some time to the great FEAR FEST Finale as well!!!

Got there early to try to catch the scare actors before make up!! Been giving a hard time this year so wanted to see who they really were. Missed most of them! Did get to see the distorted faced guy and the very tall blond haired man.

Several of the rides were closed due to the high winds but thankfully that did not last long. My daughter and her buddie ran off to explore ride lines - not bad on the waits at all.

My daughter and I were sitting in a doorway of a closed shop to avoid the wind when suddenly someone moves my daughters feet with a cane and says next to my head "KARENNNNNNNNNNNNNN I am here for your soul tonightttttttt" None other than the undertaker just before he got fit with his mic!! This man had been threatening my soul all month!! Digging my grave and I think the chain saw man was there to cut off any parts that did not fit!

Fear Fest pretty much started on time. The place was very crowded and the lines to each attraction looked like they would take at least two hours to get through. Most were so long that they wrapped in places and it was sometimes hard to figure which lines went with which attractions. My daughter and her buddy chose to ride the rides instead as those lines were not any where near as long.

I choose to spend my time at Coney Maul with the "sliders" or as people here call them the SCARE ACTORS. It was really fun and entertaining to watch them scaring people up and down the maul. A few spotted me sitting alone and decided to take it upon themselves to take turns "Waking me up"!!

One slider was at the Photo Place, did not recognize him at first so just "drove on" and suddenly he slid up to me - scared me!! They were not in their usual "make up" and most looked like characters in an ICP video. When I found out which one this guy was I nearly fell out of my chair!! Nice to kind of see what he looked like under that burlap sack he used to wear but did miss his AC/DC jacket! I think their make up was much better than the previous masks they wore as they did appear more menacing!! This slider talked me into some pictures in the photo studio and got a few other "sliders" to jump in the picture with us!!

Picture was an experience in itself - imagine trying to pose with two laughing in my ears, yes scaring me and the other one very tall and behind me growling!! Not easy!! Where we were standing hid the tall one so we retook the picture to make sure all were easily seen. This was a bit easier as only the one was growling at me!! Picture turned out great!!

Others gathered to watch our progress and it sure seemed to sell more as others wanted those sliders in their shots as well! They noticed us having a lot of fun!

Gathered my prize possession and took off for the Maul again. Traveled up and down the streets enjoying the various screams of people getting chased by sliders. All in all a great time!

The last hour of the park is always spent in the front watching the chain saw man chasing people out of the park!! Awesome to watch and so funny at times. Again the undertaker found a few chances to scare me and threaten my soul with his various zombies, with the chain saw man ready to chop me and others down to size - easier for the undertaker to dig graves - not as large.

Once the park closed we got together for one last scare with the sliders, undertaker and chainsaw man. They finally got that out of their systems we got a great group picture!!! Several people were standing around watching them scaring me and it seemed like flashes were everywhere. No one knew where to look as most people in that group were taking pictures!

The sliders, undertaker and chain saw man all came up to collect their good bye hugs from their unofficial fear fest mascot with promises to keep in touch.

Yes I am particial to the sliders but honestly they were my favorite attraction this year. From various comments made to me by other visitors, security, and park employees we were kind of a hit and fun to watch. They loved to scare me and I loved to be scared!!

Miss you Kings Island!!! Please do not limit the fear fest fun next year or guess that might be a rumor.

Face Off wasn't down to high winds because Drop Zone opened later in the day and Face/Off did not.

Lets get some things straight, do you know anything about manufacturer's reccomendations regarding wind and weather for both rides? If so, why dont you share with us? You dont know why either one was down or why either one was up.

aww come on folks let's try to keep this all upbeat and fun!!! This is just chat - we state what we think or what someone told us but unless we are engineers we really don't know. It could have been because of the wind as it was really strong that day - could be mechanical or could be mechanical resulting from the wind - does not matter - they did not run - some did run later and some did not. Lighten up and be respectful!! Let's have fun getting to know each other and sharing our opinions in here!!

Actually I do know why because I was talking to the operator and the said it was a mechical problem and not because of the wind. So quit trying to correct people when you don't know the entire story.

The operator is told to say "mechanical delay/difficulty/problem" no matter what the problem is. They're not going to tell you, or anyone the problem no matter what the situation to prevent morons like you from misenterpreting the situation and causing bad guest perception. I was working, I know why it was down, you dont work there, you dont know.

on limiting fear fest I don't know but some of my buddies there said they were hearing it might be limited but again likely a rumor that is running around - a lot of rumors start when a new company takes over like that. Always talks of cutting back.

I already got my season pass and will be highly ticked off if they reduce it at all because the final day of Fear Fest it was so crowded that I would not even bother to attempt any of the attractions which is ok as the scare actors are the best and there is no lines and no waiting!!
