Avatar
Disney - Magic Kingdom 2 Video links are at the bottom: This was my first trip to Magic Kingdom with my children and I think I was more excited about taking them because I knew what was coming for them and that this was going to be a day filled with new adventures and lots of surprises. Miss Rae was really excited and was telling every stranger on the street for several weeks that her dream day was coming! The big day finally arrived and we had arranged to start our day at Magic Kingdom by having breakfast at 8 am with Cinderella and several other princesses at the Royal Castle one hour prior to the parks official opening at 9 am. So needles to say this was an early start and one of those times when you’re really glad that you decided to stay on property as you are within minutes from any of the Disney parks. Also we knew that we were going to be staying until close that evening which was at 12 midnight, so we packed a couple bags so we would have everything that we might need for such a long day. We arrive at the front gates and were mmediately greeted by several cast members who made sure that we had the necessary credentials to go in early. My daughter Miss Rae came to the park donned with her princess attire as one should when going to the Royal Castle for a special occasion. (I suggest to all parents to do this as the cast members at Magic Kingdom really do go out of their way to greet and address your youngster as if they are really royalty). As we entered the Magic Kingdom each cast member that we passed by would look directly at Miss Rae and said something along the lines of “Good morning Princess I hope your evening went well, I hope your day is Magical at the Kingdom as well†and other varied prompts. Well this was unusual as Miss Rae was quickly noticing her princess like greetings and everyone was talking to her as if she was the center of attention, I could not help but smile from pride as I watched her arch her back and started walking several inches taller towards the Royal Castle. It is such a nice treat to walk down Main Street USA at that time of the morning as you can really notice all the unique qualities and details that Disney puts into their themed areas we stopped several times to take a few pictures as we knew that we were witnessing a rare opportunity of a crowd free Main Street. When we arrived at the Royal Castle we were first greeted at the door by Cinderella, and both Cinderella and Miss Rae had a few unrushed moments to chat then they posed for some pictures. Cinderella then encourages Miss Rae and her servants to go up the spiral stairs and into the upper dinning room to have breakfast with several other princesses who are already there and are waiting for her. When we get to the top of the stairs we went down a short hallway and was greeted by an official Royal Castle Announcer that is dressed well to fit in the surroundings, he takes a card from me that was given to me as we entered, then walks over to an elevated platform with miss Rae and makes a Royal Announcement that Princess Rae has arrived with her court. We are then seated and feed a nice servant style family breakfast and you might figured out Princess Rae was given preferential treatment and got her own special breakfast platter fit for a Princess. As we enjoyed breakfast the other Disney Princess came around and sat with Princess Rae, they talked, signed books and took pictures together. So this takes us up to a few minutes before 9 am and we have just finished breakfast. They had us wait downstairs of the castle until the front gates opened at 9 am, which is great because this allowed us to be just steps away from Fantasyland when the park opens. <param'>http://avatar.phanfare.com/video/2;15972218;"> We very quickly took advantage of the no lines at most of the Fantasyland attractions as the other guest were working themselves back there from the front gates. After several family rides I suggested to Travis that he should go and get us some fast passes for Magic Mountain and while he was there he should ride it and a few other attractions while the lines were short, while we finished up in Fantasyland with Miss Rae. He returned very quickly and I asked why he did not ride the other attractions in TomorrowLand and he replied “I’m enjoying watching my sister so much and I would rather ride a few of the attractions with herâ€Â. From there we went trough the Liberty Square area! Then we ventured through Frontierland and Adventureland. I must say that I was very surprised as to the length of the attractions such as Big Thunder Mountain and especially Splash Mountain. We rode through various outdoor mountainous themed scenes then had a nice drop that made you feel as you going down a waterfall that had tress towards the bottom and you actually pass under those logs at the bottom. After the splash you think your done but are pleasantly surprised when from there you go inside the mountain and venture past a lot of Briar Rabbit scenes, that add about another 3+ minutes to the attraction. I would highly rate this attraction as to the length and it really gives a lot of interesting variety of themes for one attraction. From there we went and watched the newly released stage show in the front of the Royal Castle called “Dreams Come True†It had a mixture of the usual Disney character with Princess and their prince charming. They had a couple Villains appear and threaten to ruin everything but Mickey gets the audience to believe in their dreams and in turn he saved the day. From there we decided to go to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café to have a long lunch in the air conditioning and Miss Rae even had a short nap while we relaxed from a busy morning. The parade was our next plan and we got to our preferred parade spot in time to get a nice clean curb to sit on while we waited. The parade itself was good and the parade participants showed a lot of enthusiasm as they passed by. Cinderella came by again and I stood behind Miss Rae and keep pointing down to her and then Cinderella leaned over a little and said “we’ll how are you, are you having a good timeâ€Â. That made Miss Rea lean back a little as she was surprised that Cinderella remembered her. At this point we had done most of the park except Toontown Fair and Tomorrowland, luckily we had collected enough fast passes through the day so that if we wanted to reride any attractions we would have enough to do so and still were able to do all the major attractions at Tomorrowland with our Fast Passes. Stitch’s Great escape was a fun familyattraction and a nice surprise as it is more of a, you got to see it interactive experience than a ride but it still gives you a ride like feeling when you come out. We saved Mickey's Toontown Fair for the last major area to go into because most families have done came and gone through that area, which makes the lines to wait for your favorite Disney character icon’s tolerable. So Lisa went and staked out our Wishes firework location while Miss Rae and I went through Toontown and met all princesses again!!!! and all the other costume characters!!! We saved Mickey for last and were able to get a leisurely walk through his house to take some pictures We got to meet with him for pictures and autographs. We met back up and enjoyed the Wishes Fireworks Spectacular and were able to get a clear view of Tinker Bell flying right over us as she usually helps in starting the show. At this point all the guest are making a mad dash to the front gates to leave but they were offering a second Electric Parade at 11 pm that evening so we stayed to watch that while the crowd thined out. Needless to say I had a very lifeless limp 6 year old to carry-out of the park and had to listen to her snoring on the bus all the way back to the Caribbean Beach Resort. In Conclusion: We had a very magical day and have made some great memories from that day; we look forward to going again sometime in the future. If you have a youngster or just one at heart Magic Kingdom will give you everything that you could hope for. But for older teens and for the singles group they may want to go just to see what all the buzz is about, but they will most likely appreciate the fact that there are other parks nearby to give them the stimulation and excitement that is more geared to their level. This a video that I purchased from Disney and added my own pictures, I am going to give two links to the video the first one shows only the Magic Kingdom part of the whole Video while the other includes all the parks and it goes in order that we went and is like flipping through a photo album. <param'>http://avatar.phanfare.com/video/2;9713097;"> <param'>http://avatar.phanfare.com/video/2;8535796;">

CoastersRZ
Excellent trip report Avatar! I must say, that there isn`t any amusement park (that I`ve been to) that can quite compare to Disney World. I went in 2004 with my family, and I had a wonderful experience there. It is so much more than just roller coasters. The entire environment is amazing, and it literally feels like you are in a different world. Avatar
Looks like you had a great trip. As a parent its amazing how excited you can get for your kids and how much you want them to have a good experience. Yes we did and you are so right. You know we took 700+ pictures over that trip and I have several favorites but the one below I think is close to being one my most favorite as there is 16 years between them and he’s been away for the past 3 at collage but they still have that bond as this picture shows without any words necessary. How fortunate your daughter is to have you caring for her so very much! Those are very kind words and I Thank-You, but truly I often think that I’m the fortunate one. Dammit... I'm actually touched by this trip report. I’m a bit confused; are you saying the report touched you? OR the picture of Jasmine touched you?
