Tuskin
To be fair: * Paramount Parks took out the Eagles. * Cedar Fair put in the basketball game on an otherwise vacant piece of land. The two are not related. The first action was in no way taken so that the second could be. yeah i know i was just saying they could of left them in .. paramount
AdventureExpresser
As a kid, I have many fond memories of my parents and grandparents as we all enjoyed the Tumblebug together, I wish it had found a home in the kids area as a family oriented ride, the whole family can fit into a train and have a great time, but my most missed rides would have to be the King Cobra and Flight Commander. Standups nowadays are way too smooth, I like to feel like a part of the machine, and feel every little jerk it experiences, thats why I love to go to Kings Dominion and ride the Shockwave, nothing like the two seater standups, I am not a fan of the four seaters. Off subject a bit, I would love to see a ride like Chaos go in where Flight Commander was. I wonder if someone hadn't got killed on Flight Commander if it would still be there today. I know I wish it was still there.
The Interpreter
Oh, standups are too smooth nowadays? Have you been to Six Flags Great America? And ridden Iron Wolf? You'll be so happy!

DeLorean Rider
No to mention Witches Wheel at CP, Flying scooters at Strickers grove, Eagles at Holiday Workd, and the Tea Cups at Disney world!
Captain Nemo
without a doubt, mine is the Phantom Theater. It was a rule that before I left the park I must ride it. It was a ride everyone rode yet had no line... I loved it.
Purplehaze
I miss the old lap bars on the woodies & walking the park with a beer. Well you do not have to miss the beer anymore, they are adding beer carts everywhere this year like the old days.....
RWildman424
I miss King Cobra. The one time I rode it, I was maybe 10 and just tall enough to ride it. I loved it. Where did you hear about the beer carts? Sounds ify to me.
nemov22
what i miss most is The Beast. not SOB but the original beast that ran wild through the woods in my youth. all the additional brakes and wear and tear measures have killed it for me. i am hopefull though that cedarfair will let it run a full force. and an honorable mention goes to the Cobra. i truely miss it. Browntggrr
Well you do not have to miss the beer anymore, they are adding beer carts everywhere this year like the old days..... I am not trying to doubt you, but has this been confirmed? The reason why I ask is that their alcohol related insurance premiums would have had to of gone up considerably just due to the plain fact that there will be more people consuming beer because they can walk around with it. italianchef
I miss Phantom Theater the most. It was the most Disney-like and originally themed ride that KI ever had. Have a great day! Italian Chef

It doesn't seem too far off to me. If I am remembering correctly, Cedar Point doesn't have restrictions for beer. There were people walking around the park and standing in line with beer. KI/KD fan
I miss: Enchanted Voyage (the original from 70's/early 80's) Flying Eagles Getting rid of the Eagles was one of the worst decisions the park ever made, and to this day makes no sense to me whatsoever... They did not need that land at all. They got rid of a flat ride just for the heck of it or to save Carowinds some money. I take yearly treks to Carowinds so I can still ride this amazing flat ride... Part of the soul of Kings Island was removed along with the Eagles. I agree it was a terrible decision to remove the Eagles and the Old Fashon Cars. I loved both of those rides and it makes no since why they decided to put the IJ:ST where it is. It looked so nice as you walked past the Eiffel Tower and came around the corner and saw the wooded antique cars track. As you walked further you came to the Flying Eagles. Now there is that pathedic coaster there. (IJ:ST)
clbehymer
The Kings Mill log flume is still there, and not all that changed. But, remember, it WAS indeed Paramount's plan to remove it...just as they removed the Tiques and the Flying Scooters. Only public outcry saved the original flume from Coney Island. The changes made to it only refreshed the ride and got ridership back up to justifiable levels. Please don't laugh... what are the Flying Scooters? Cory Butcher
The Flying Eagles The ride sits on a center pivot point, many arms come out of this center point. Then you have tubs that are connected to these arms by wires. There was typically a rudder at the front of the tub allowing you to move in close to the center while you swung or mover further away as you swung. Many enthusiasts rate this type of ride based on how they "snap" that is to say, get the tub going one way and then pull it the other so quick that the wires tension up, and you hear a 'thud'. They are great fun rides!
The Interpreter
Yep. The generic ride name, by Bisch Rocco, who made them, and by Larson International who makes a current day version, was and is Flying Scooters.
Stacey
Have to vote for the the Eagles, Bat and Demon. Showing my age a bit, but used to love the walk up the rattling stairs on my way up to ride the Demon. Probably the scariest part of the ride at the time. Always felt like it was going to shake itself apart when the train got going above. By the way, I still have that pennant with The Beast, Screamin Demon and Bat logos on it. Can't remember what exact year I bought it. It's on my kid's wall right now. The logos are shrouded in fog with the tower and fireworks in the background. Was fortunate enough to snag a Bat press kit a couple of years ago also. It includes the annoucement release, layout sheets and a few construction and finished ride shots. Fun stuff. Ok, That was my ALL TIME FAVORITE RIDE EVER!! I love the screamin demon and cried when they took it out. I loved the stairs, that was part of the thrill! I also miss the Smurf ride. I loved splashing my brother who always sat infront of me. The King Cobra was such a great ride too. I wish they would bring it back! Mikewhy
If I am remembering correctly, Cedar Point doesn't have restrictions for beer. There were people walking around the park and standing in line with beer. Actually, the Cedar Point park guide from 2006 clearly states that alcoholic beverages are NOT allowed in any ride line. Of course, people do not bother to read the rules or if they do, they ignore them. Personally, I do not look forward to people roaming the park with their beers. I do not look forward to that at all...
Cory Butcher
Oh, c'mon, beer showers at the baseball games and stuff are fun! Of course so are: Icees, Rootbeer, Pepsi, lemonade, iced Tea, Coke, Mountain Dew, Slice, 7UP, Dr. Pepper, Sierra Mist, Sports drinks! I like the Lemonade showers best, and my runner-up is Pizza! Gotta love the slice that accidentally falls off the kid's plate, while hes bouncing that ball!

But, the ADA wouldn't, could you imagine that today? Interpreter? lol Actually, the steps would be fine, so long as there is also an elevator for use by the disabled. But, given how little ridership most of those things got after the newness wore off... By the way, Scrappy's Slide also had quite a few steps! RailRider
King Cobra for me is the most missed ride, but what went in its place definately equalled that, but still not the have the Eagles and just a giant green area with a basketball game between Happy Days and IJ:ST still kills me... I have no problem with people roaming the park with their beer as long as they dont smoke and roam Im fine. The one thing I absolutely hate are the people that bounce their basketballs all day. Everyone trying to show off their skills and they all suck. I seriously wish they gave those balls out deflated and had a nickel air machine on the way out. Sometimes I just want to grab their basketball and play a pickup game of dodgeball with them. I always aim for the head.

bear295
Most missed ride for me: The Bat I was fortunate enough to get to ride The Bat on its opening day with an ERT pass as an ACE member. Really hated to see it go!! But what a learning experience it was for Arrow. Look how many suspended coasters were built after The Bat. Was a fun ride!! odettekitrigisele
king cobra and The Bat. so sad. I agree with you. The King Cobra had a wonderful first drop and then into the LooP. Why did they take it down? Was it dangerous? The Bat would swing way out and it just had something special that pehaps is lacking on the newer suspended coasters. I also miss the screamin demon, it was scary because it shook so much and it made so much noise, I loved that!
odettekitrigisele
Other- SOB....WITH the loop I miss: Flight Commander The Bat The Bavarian Beetle The Bayern Curve The Tumblebug I would love to find an old pennant that I used to have as a kid that had The Beast, The Bat, and the Screamin' Demon on it.
