Mikewhy
I actually visited Kings Dominion for the first time last year. There were some things I liked better than Kings Island and others I did not. The things I liked better were the things that made me think of the Kings Island of old. The park is much shadier in many places than Kings Island, especially the kids section. They still have a log flume that has not been converted to the kids section, and they still have their Antique cars and flying eagles. They even still have an arbor tunnel that you walk through. Just some observations.
PKIVortex
Seen that pic before, and I thought it was PKD, just never thought to comment on it to everyone else on here.
Cory Butcher
That is and hopefully will always be that beautiful of a scene. That truly says former Paramount Park, but it really reminds me of all the great times that I've had at KI!
KIfan73
I just set that as my desktop background a couple days ago...doh!
Firefall Pkd
Too bad KD hasn't taken care of the fountains for 3 years now, half of them are always turned off and half of those working are shooting at different pressures and different directions. A truly horrible first sight at the park for anyone that notices. Since some are turned off the water landing in these empty funnels would make a gurgling/farting noise, very odd to walk down IStreet and have a sound you can't figure out where it's coming from. I can only hope CF will put an end to that lack of care.

Zoom in on it, I am pretty sure those the are the Paramount stars. They appear to on what looks like their bandstand area.
The Interpreter
Correct on both counts! I bet they are gone in real life this year...
Skywriter
Correct on both counts! I bet they are gone in real life this year... Are fountain is not perfect. Go up on the Tower and look at the Fountians. They have rust color and it is unpainted it looks terrible. Hopefully it it will get painted this year. Delirium13
Although I agree with your statement, the fountains do need a good paint job. But the post you quoted had nothing to do with that. Kind of offtopic, but here is a really nice picture of the Kings Island Eiffel Tower
Jasper
^Even though i am a guy and it sounds wrong to say it like this but that is a beatiful picture. CoastersRZ
Two things. One, the fountains are painted at KI. The second thing is that they just refurbished the fountains a couple of years ago. (I want to say 2004). They put in an all new concrete lining as the old one was apparantely leaking.

PKIVortex
Yes those are the Paramount Stars on the bandstand. KI had them too, but has been gone for a few season's now.

PKIVortex
Probably will have either a Vid or the new ride logo there. Also in the media center they finally got rid of the Nick U video that used to play.

Kings Dominion's Tower and Fountain should not be billed as Kings Island. I can't believe that they made that kind of mistake, actually.
