SPRING IS OFFICIALLY HERE – Kings Island OPENS APRIL 21ST!

Put away the coat and shovel, pack up the kids and get to Kings Island

to help us celebrate as the park opens for the 35th season SATURDAY, APRIL 21ST.

NEW FOR 2007: A New Flying Coaster, 5 New Shows, and Much More!

By now you’ve probably heard about Firehawk, our new flying coaster that will

make its debut this Memorial Day weekend. Be among the first to see this

massive steel structure rising into the Coney Mall skyline. Don’t worry,

here are 13 other coasters on opening day waiting to help you pass the time

until Firehawk is finished! Opening day will also bring even more music and

laughter with the introduction of two of our FIVE NEW SHOWS! Bring the whole

family to enjoy Dora’s Sing-a-long Adventure at the Nick Theatre where you’ll

help Dora and Boots find the Big Red Chicken. Hot Island Rhythms, a mix of

catchy Island pop songs, also makes its grand opening this weekend on the

International Street Bandstand.

THE GOLD PASS IS BACK: No Wait Processing Every Night This Week!

With a Kings Island GOLD PASS, you get a reserved parking area, exclusive ride

times, early admission to Boomerang Bay and much more. But you have to buy yours

before May 27th, because that’s when all the Gold Pass VIP perks go away and the

price goes up. And if you buy a Four-pack pass you can really save big.

A Four-pack is just 84.95 per pass. Use it twice and it pays for itself.

For your convenience, the Season Pass Sales & Processing Center is open

from 10am - 6pm Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15 and

from 4pm - 8pm Monday, April 16 through Friday, April 20. The Sales & Processing

Center is open every day the park is open but there is typically little to

no wait time on these weekday evenings!

See you at the park!

sob is open ya ya ya , shake yo booty

I don't know if I would shake it so soon. I have yet to see SOB testing at all, which tells me that I can't imagine it being open anytime soon considering the re-certification the ride will have to go through.

It is as apt to be open Saturday as it is that parking will be free, that Racer will have been replaced with Rolling Thunder, that Tim Fisher will be a ticket taker, and that Jeff Seibert will be buying everyone free Coca-Cola if they just say "Paramount is gone and the fun is back."

Which is to say, very, very unlikely.

.....that's a fun word to say, "swoosh."

At least, technically, we'll be able to get close-up views of Firehawk construction when the park opens up since it's next door to FOF's queue. Even though they sort of halt construction when guests are in the park, I believe.

So we can pretty much count on everything being open except for Firehawk (DUH) and SOB? I hope they have everything running up to par. Last time i was there they had to close Drop ZOne down because of high wind and Face/Off was also shut down to.
