If you want, you can go to the Guest Relations at the front of the park on your next visit and ask for the Gold Pass deal pamphlet. It has the list of all the meal deals as well as a calendar with which section of the park opens early that day.

Its awfully nice that these apply to families. Target audiences are so lucky.....

Ya, sure.

One whole pizza, 4 salads, and 4 drinks for $29.99?

You can go onto the Pizza Hut website and get two large pizzas (including Supreme, Meat Lovers etc.) for $20.00. Something tells me that 4 salads and all you can drink sodas will not be an additional $20.

Dinner for 4 at Wings for $40.00?

While that is a little better compared to Old Country Buffet ($11.01/ adult, $.55 x child's age under 12- both include tax= $35.22) you cannot compare the quality & selection of OCB to Wings.

Instead of "target audience" it seems they are "targeting an audience" in the cross-hairs.

Uh... what do you expect? KI has a monopoly on food since it's their park and people aren't that willing to leave the park in the middle of the day to go some where else to get something to eat. The same is true at professional sports stadiums as well as all other theme parks. Disney is atrocious as well with their food prices.

I expect Disney quality food at KI if they are going to charge me the same.

While it is easy to compare a professional sport stadium to a place like KI, it is an unfair comparison. You are only in a stadium for a game for about 4 hours. At KI, you are there for an upwards of 10+ hours. KI claims to be a family park. Most sports do not cater to families, nor do they advertise that they are.

Also, KI has an entire summer of 10+ hours a day to make their money. Whereas a stadium is limited to their times and dates. The majority of a foodservice revenue does not come from the few guests, but the amount of guests they can serve as fast as possible.

Yes, KI does have the monopoly of food. It is just unfortunate that they are slamming it down our throats with their inflated prices.

I honestly did not feel that Disney’s food prices was higher than KI but in deed slightly lower, as far as the quality of the food in flavor and variety Disney is the leader IMO.

I try not to compare Disney to other amusement/theme parks as Disney is in a whole class by themselves and it’s like comparing apples to oranges.

Now as far as prices go at KI three times at three different food locations I witnessed other guest turning around to complain/make remarks about the prices to other guest still in line.

1) At Outback Shack; Valued Customer complained about $3.19 chocolate milk for her toddler

2) At Ice Cream; (Nickelodeon Universe) Valued Customer made remarks about the high price for the Kids Cones $2.99 while for only 30 cents more $3.29 for the regular cone with almost 3 x the amount of ice cream as the kids cones. Guests thought KI was taking advantage of the parents through the kids.

3) At Wings Dinner Buffet; Valued Customer made remarks about the high price for the basic buffet and said that for that price they should have a better selection.

I know KI can charge that much and make money but I hope they realize how much they are upsetting their Valued Customers. Disney and the Beach Water Park offers it Season Pass holders 20% off food.

I'm sorry folks, but food at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, which pays its employees much more and operates in a very high cost area, is less expensive than the prices Cedar Fair is charging this year. Moreover, it is possible to get unique choices not readily available outside the park. Disney and even Universal are also less expensive, and the quality is MUCH higher.

Cedar Fair NEEDS people to spend money IN the parks if it wants to pay off its enormous debt. Forcing many, many people outside the park to eat is not the wisest choice (just like Six Flags nicking people for $15 to park as the first part of their park experience is also not the wisest choice. You may say it is nowhere near that at Kentucky Kingdom, and you'd be right. But, that parking lot is owned by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, not Six Flags).

What I do is like this June the buffet meal deal for 39 bucks. My son and I will go there and when we are ready to eat there I will find 2 people going in without a gold pass and let them eat for free. That way I get the full 4 peoples worth out of it. I guess I could charge them for it but I do not. Also give them a atomic t-shirt...lol.. my affiliate payments support the 2 free people on the 39 dollar meal so its all good. anyone want a atomic tshirt?...lol

I would take Disney food and prices any day over what is being charged and served at Kings Island. If you really want to take a look at prices check out this page at all ears net.

When I am at Epcot I often eat at the Electric Umbrella which is about in the middle of future world. At the electric umbrella a cheeseburger with fries is $5.89 and the chicken strips with fries is $6.69. A regular drink is $2.09 and a large is $2.39. The food prices at Disney are high but then I almost always get a good meal as well.

Plus if you stay on site at Disney in the fall during the slow season there have been discount codes to get free dining for the last few years. The dining plan includes one counter service meal, one snack, and one table service meal a day.

Kings Island might have a monopoly but at its prices I will just take a snack in my pocket (dried fruit and nuts work well) and then eat as soon as I leave.
