Gordon Bombay
Well, it's a kind of bad thing. =\ Why? You've never ridden these new SOB trains, Beast and Racer have seatbelts and they do just fine.
KIBeast
Yes, the chain was always that loud.
PKI_WMA
The new train looks nice, but I did like the old color scheme too. They at least had a little "theme" to them with the whole Perimeter Surveillance Vehicle (PSV) thing on the sides. Hopefully the new ones give a much better ride! Gordon Bombay
^I agree, i like the new logo and the way it says Kings Island like Firehawk but I wish they would have the color scheme go from red to yellow like the old trains and like how The Beast's trains were originally painted. jondrewfoo
heh red and blue cars.... hope they dont plan to make it like its The Racers with just a little more track.... lol
Gordon Bombay
The trains were originally blue when purchased from MBP and theres been no confirmation that the 2nd train will be blue.

I would like it to be Red, and then Orange in the middle, and then Yellow in the back that would be cool.
RWildman424
I'd like to have two trains when it first opens...I really don't care what color they are.
deb
I don't care either. Red paint makes it look like it's going faster. But really. It doesn't matter as long as you can ride it safely! (orange and purple. ) deb

Cortney
I rode this when they were really letting people ride it....the year it opened they never had it opened, but the restraints to me where the worse part of it. It was jerky, but I have been on worse (Flight of Fear was worse) but I thought it was so awesome with the loop and such, but I hope that its not as jerky now w/o it. Hope not as bad...but all rides are jerky in some way.
deb
We took our now 5 year old yesterday to celebrate his birthday. I was on the way out to the tracker for our swimsuits and overheard another couple say "SoB is going!". My hubby and son were awaiting me on the Eiffel Tower, so I went up and made them stick around long enough for me to see IF SoB was indeed testing. Guess what? IT WAS. I saw a Red Train full of water dummies. And a blue EMPTY train. Later, after the fireworks (we were in the Tower for them) an employee of the tower and I had an interesting conversation about SoB and the new trains. After advising me to NOT TELL A SOUL (which I was sure he/she had told everyone else before he/she told them the exact same thing...) they proceeded to tell me that the other train is NOT BLUE, but TEAL (ewwww), but from a distance you cannot tell it (not even looking down from the Tower). Also, the employee told me that they had heard that the suits who had ridden it got off the ride shaking their heads... As if to say it wasn't ready yet. In the elevator on the way down, another guy asked the elevator op when it would open. I'm sure he's been trained to say, I dunno, this year. Which is what he said. The employee I spoke to had ALSO heard July 4th. I guess we'll see on Wednesday. deb
BaroqueNHeart
That sucks I don't see how with the new lighter trains and such that the ride could be dissapointing to the suits. I mean hasn't it always been a rough ride? I mean at Elitch Gardens the Twister got a paint job and new trains and the difference was like night and day that it was so amazingly smooth I didn't mind riding it. Guess SOB is that intense... Colonel_SoB_fan
There is no wooden rollercoaster that is smooth so I think some people expect for it to be as smooth as Firehawk when it won't be. I expect it to be about as smooth as its father which still isn't that smooth. The Beast can and will beat you up pretty bad at times. PKIVortex
I heard as well that they were clapping so I have no idea what the higher ups thought or felt after that ride. I also don't think SOB will ever be glass smooth, that thing pulls some major lateral g's. But I'd think with the lighter trains the roughness won't be as bad. Those other trains didn't track worth crap. You could see the trains bouncing around on the course and really bad on the top of the second hill. deb
When we rode The Beast after the fireworks a few weeks ago I'd never known that it WAS a woodie if I didn't know it in advance, it was really smooth. Could be the darkness or the dew, who knows. deb
CoastersRZ
The second train is blue. Not a teal color, at least that is what it looked like to me from Top Gun`s exit on Saturday.
PKIVortex
The Beast just depends on where you ride. Try the very back, it's a different Beast back there.

I'm just relaying what an employee said to me. And they look TINY on that huge @ss coaster! (I can imagine the ride will be longer now, it'll prob take 2 mins to get to the top of the lift hill! Kinda like riding Vortex, only in itty bitty cars) deb
PKIVortex
I agree the trains look totally different then what we are used too. It took me a few to get used to the 5 car trains last year.

CoastersRZ
Deb, as far as the opening goes. You (and others) should be reminded of the saying that is mentioned time and time again. Those who know, don`t tell. Those who tell, don`t know. Have some patience the park will open the ride when they, their insurance company and the State of Ohio clear the ride for operation. Until the ride officially opens, or the park issues a press release stating when it intends on opening the ride, all dates of its projected opening are pure speculation. The Interpreter
Any of those three wooden coasters are smoother than any steel coaster at Kings Island and any but Gemini at Cedar Point....
Rollercoast19
Lightning Racer at Hersheypark is the smoothest wooden coaster that I have ever been on. The Hurricane at the late Myrtle Beach Pavilion was the roughest wooden coaster I have ever been on, but I believe that was more of a track issue and not a train issue.
