I went to ki tonight, rode The Beast at about 9:50...and when coming to the helix...I saw lights in the tunnel. At first I thought, oh theres prob only 1 light, but no, the whole tunnel was filled with lights. But coming into the 2nd tunnel on the helix no lights. I just rode The Beast prob less then 2 weeks ago and there weren't any lights. I'm kinda mad.

I noticed that last night as well, but probably Maintenance forgot to flip the switch. I wouldn't worry about it.

The WHOLE tunnel isn't lined either, theres just one strand of maybe 10 lights, just a few, not a big deal.

I rode it before dark and they were on then as well-hadn't seen them lit in years!!! Had forgotten they were in there

Personally, I wouldn't mind lights in all the tunnels at night. It's kind of like the anti-Beast. I mean it's not like the tunnels make it more dark. You're in the woods at night...

Actually if there is a full moon, the tunnels do make it more dark. That is part of the thrill of riding The Beast at night, being in the woods in near darkness. Save for the select locations where they have spot lights shining on the tracks.

What about a dim red light throughout one of the tunnels? I think that would add a cool effect at night.

Wow, I must be so into The Beast while I'm riding it, I don't really notice anything else.

I was riding tonight. I don't like Cedar Fairs "No wooden coaster opperation during fireworks" rule.

Paramount did it, and it was fine.

I would much rather hurry up and leave, than stand for 15 minutes and waste time, but it is nice that they check for a burning track.

I believe it's in the same general area they have always launched them, but they may have moved it back a little farther, being Firehawk as built.

It's like riding FOF with the lights on..a behind the scenes look if you will. In addition it's fun and funny to see who are the brave souls that can trully keep their hands up through the entire tunnel at night

That's what I was saying earlier. Either put a regular light on in the tunnel or like an eerie red light just to add a little something else to riding it at night. I think it'd be pretty sweet.

Paramount used to launch fireworks from the old King Cobra resting place. There was a giant concrete slab and a little shack, inside which was a control panel with about 150 buttons. Wires led outward from the shack to the middle of the concrete slab where fireworks could be attached to the wires and be detonated from the shack. Firework cardboard absolutely littered the place.

Now that Firehawk is where it is, the park declared that it was too close to the old launching site, especially if there was an accident which from what we've seen at Nights of Fire is definately possible. Anyway instead of closing the new ride every night when the line is hours long, the park decided to launch fireworks off behind action theater and behind the forward racer turn around. Being so close to both racer and The Beast, both now have to stop operation 10min before 10pm and wait untill the fireworks are completely over before restarting and cycling through the rest of the line. From 9:50-10:00 the ride does not operate however you are still allowed to get into line. At 10pm, as soon as the first firework explodes, the line is cut and no more guests are allowed to enter any of the lines in the park.

As for the lights, they're all controlled by circuit breakers, some get left on some get turned off.

so i rode The Beast again today, and lights on again. i think it ruins the ride.

There have always been orange-ish lights shining on the track at various spots. Right after the brake shed and at the turn to lift 2 for instance.

They do them right by Spongebob 3d. I got 3 rides of Vortex tonight with the fireworks going(including the last ride of the night).

Yes but those can be turned off aswell if necessary.

Strobes would require warnings to riders afflicted with epilepsy, and are seldom used in park settings these days for that very reason.

Having lived through both, I can assure you black lights were a LOT more popular in the 1970's than the 1960's. And many Fear Fest effects depend on black lighting to this day . . .

They forget to flip the breaker sometimes. I have rode The Beast when all of the Tunnel Lights are one. Now that really sucks.

Between repair stages of the turibine engine parts we do FPI Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection where we cover the parts in a fluorescent green spray and let it soak in then clean it in and watch for areas to show up under the black lights. We look for cracks and coatings of different types and material contamination and oxidation etc. The black lights we use however put out VERY little visible light, but when they shine on white or a fluorescent color, they light up like a christmas tree.

theres nothing bright in a beast tunnel except you the strobes would work all rides have some flashing lights TRTR has some i think some rides have warnings and what would one more warning on the ride signs be they wuld probably have to put up signs for blacklights also knowing what people will tryand sue for
