  1. I'd say the color scheme is passable... http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Centurion_2_Boulogne_Luc_Viatour.jpg
  2. If the only recent construction photos available are from the web cam, I think any guesses will be only guesses. If we had a wider angle to reference then educated guesses would be possible. Dive Machines have typically been cheaper in the past but there hasn't been one built in America since Griffon and as stated before, inflation has quite an effect on the cost across the board. I don't think it's a bad guess and is possible, but so is anything in the B&M library without a better idea of the total construction site.
  3. So I haven't been as much as I would have liked this year and I've lost count on my rides but I did go today and had abnormal experiences. On the way in, the employee that scanned our passes stopped my boy and made a comment that he is 48" tall so we would be required to upgrade his pass to an adult one or we wouldn't be allowed in. What? Mid season? This irritated me and I don't feel wrong about asking for a supervisor to explain this policy. I understand this may be on the books however I have never heard of this. Kids grow, and at the time of purchase he was a couple inches too short. When our passes were processed we were not informed of this so it caught me off guard and he is barely 48". I'd have been a lot more understanding if he were way over the line but it seemed ridiculous the way we were stopped... Then later when exiting Adventure Express I noticed a medic cart nearby. While my son and I were riding another father and son were in line and the boy busted his head somehow. I was told it was because of rail gymnastics. My wife apparently fetched a bag of ice from a vendor while the medics were called and helped until the professionals showed up. Lastly, on our way out of the park while walking near preferred parking I noticed a van parked across about 3 spaces. At first I grumbled some choice adjectives and nouns to myself about seeing someone there blocking people from leaving and considered calling security. At second glance I noticed a couple people with the doors open on a nearby SUV working around the dash area and immediately made the call.
  4. What's willingly your favorite ride?
  5. This list will never be set in stone and it changes regularly depending on how nostalgic I feel. 10) Phantom Theater 9) Shake Rattle and Roll 8) The Bat (current) 7) Flight of Fear 6) Racer 5) Flying Eagles 4) Adventure Express 3) Diamondback 2) The Beast 1) Banshee, barely
  6. I'd go as far as saying that Kings Island created the map by starting a new age of coaster popularity (Racer) and being the model for several parks that came at later dates.
  7. I thought it was already set in the ground that we have B&M style footings. I don't even consider this speculation. The only way it's wrong is if another manufacturer started using the exact same style cut outs in the concrete.
  8. I can't agree with all of your changes but your map and ideas are very interesting and creative. I do really like the idea of this thread.
  9. That's not a true statement. Anyone who truly knows the answer won't say it here.
  10. I'd like to think the front office staff took turns throwing darts at a park map and then someone's name was drawn at random to decide where the new ride would be.

    Rivertown revamp

Throw a covered wagon in one of the center flower beds. Problem solved. Joking. (Kind of)

    Rivertown revamp

The break between Rivertown and Planet Snoopy is the pavement type. Rivertown is pavers, Planet Snoopy is blacktop.
  13. The media is going ape on the amusement industry this season.

    Which ride?

Drop Tower assuming my wife can talk me into the line. It's her favorite so I'll do it with her. I've certainly drug her onto roller coasters she was not fond of... I'm not worried or nervous about SlingShot or Skyflyer because they fall into my NOPE! category. I'm not stressing over something I'm never going to do.
  15. I'm not a fan because it's the only ride that really truly gets my heart rate up. My wife says that should make it my favorite but I disagree.
  16. That would be a thieves paradise then.
  17. As I was reading this topic I started wondering how many people put in a ridiculous code (a series of 1s, or consecutive numbers).
  18. I did end up visiting the park after all. My wife and oldest daughter took a ride on the tower that drops.
  19. I'm watching it cycle right now from a nearby location. Weather and family matters will keep me from attending today though.
  20. Busch Gardens Tampa is my favorite park. There aren't tons of rides strewn everywhere but what they have is generally high quality. Their zoo and theming put this park over the top and I remember their food being pretty decent. If you enjoy adult beverages you can use the meal deal (unless it's changed in two years) to get half price beers, which is always a plus.
  21. Adventure Express is one of my all time favorite rides, and I'm teaching my kids to follow that same train of thought. One day when it is gone I hope they look back and remember the times we're having now.
  22. Or it's an adjective so powerful that a new word was created on the spot. I've heard a few on the shop floor that can't be repeated here...
  23. I like Millennium Force. The view on the way up is great, the first drop is good, and the sensation of speed is fun.

    Best seats?

Yup. Here's a true story. I got blasted during ERT in 2013 because I didn't realize it was possible to actually get WET. After drying off I smelled like a wet dog until I went home and took a shower.
