  5. As someone who has experienced the wonderful-ness of putting away the cans and bringing them back out I can tell you a few things. Not sure about this year's procedure, but the year before they were split up and put away in their respective areas. 1) AZ was stored at Stunt Crew Grill 2) Coney was split between Racer station and FoF hanger. 3) Rivertown was placed in the Train Station. 4) Snoopy cans were placed in Snoopy Theatre. 5) IS Cans were placed under the IR. 6) Parking lot cans were placed under the IR as well. I can tell you right now it's a very time consuming and daunting task, they were all cleaned as well. Some of the cans that were put away during park operating hours were pulled across the areas or wheeled on dollys, after hours they used Pick-Up trucks and a large flat bed.

  6. Vortex. Those arrow restraints are awful. I'd rather punch myself in the head.

  7. In defiance of what? OH MY GOD. WHAT IS AIR. Something not found on Beast, but we defiantly definitely love it anyway, Sonny.

  8. ^ You didn't just call a coaster type that you have never been on "weak", did you? You can't really guage forces from watching POVs. There are a ton of coasters that look "weak" in POVs, but when you actually ride them...they turn out to be very, very forceful. And there are also rides that are quite the opposite. For those interested, here is Coasterforce's recently posted Wild Eage Left Side POV, a Wing Coaster. This is the real ride, not an animation: Looks pretty darn good to me. As for what park this new green wing rider could be heading for, there are so many possible locations it is dizzying. A small list of parks in this region that I think could possibly get this ride, with pros/cons of each: Kings Island The Good: It's about time for something new in the coaster department at Kings Island, and these wing riders seem like they will be popular attractions. It would mesh with the current lineup well. The Bad: The park may want to deal with a certain mountain o' wood first. Though this could replace that, but wouldn't the woodie have begun demolition by now if that was the case? Cedar Point The Good: Maverick is 5 years old. Something new has got to come to Cedar Point, and soon. This would fit the bill and help the park defend its "Roller Coaster Capital of the World" title. The Bad: Is there room, or will Cedar Point have to axe an older ride to make room for it? If this ride is headed for CP, does it spell disaster and doom for Mean Streak or Disaster Transport? Holiday World The Good: Holiday World needs a steel coaster with inversions, and this fits that bill. Plus, the Green could go well with a brand-new St. Patrick's Day Area! The Bad: Bluegrass Boardwalk is going to take some serious cash if they are going to open it. Is there still room in the budget? Plus, this does not add the "mid-level family coaster" the park needs for those who need to work their way up to Raven. Bluegrass Boardwalk The Good: With Chang gone, if this park is to re-open, it needs a signature ride. This could be that ride. The Bad: It would be a waste of time and money if this ride gets installed, but then it turns out BB is a failure and can't open or closes quickly. Although someone else could buy it used from them then... Six Flags St. Louis The Good: This park could use more coasters. They have some fine wood, and a few good steel, but that's about it. The Bad: Not for the park, but this would be a bit of a drive for me from Indianapolis...and for this park, a huge steel coaster (B&M or Intamin Hyper) would probably work better here. 99% CHANCE THIS RIDE ISN'T GOING TO THESE GUYS... Six Flags Great America: X-Flight. Nuff said. Dollywood: Wild Eagle. Nuff said. Indiana Beach: No room! And do they seriously have enough for this? Of course, this ride could also be heading for a more distant park- Kings Dominion, Carowinds, Six Flags Great Adventure (if they add this, their coaster collection will be ridiculous!), Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Over Georgia, and many other parks could also take a B&M Wing Rider and add it to their lineup. Sorry to ramble, if I did...I was just thinking of possibilities.

  9. Why would you think that? Closed wooden coasters have often stood for years without maintenance. See, for example, the wooden coaster that stood closed and forlorn for many a year in Brooklyn, or another in Middletown, Ohio. Then there is one in Aurora.

  10. I have debated whether to even post this at all...you really have to be a die-hard fanboy to enjoy this one. (cough Ty, cough Paul) But since I have it...and I have it scanned, here it is: I like the cover...it's simple yet nice. Only in the 70's could a boyfriend & a girlfriend's clothes have clashed so badly. "Live Entertainment...a stage show in Old Coney, a porpoise show, melodramas..." Melodramas?!! Anyone remember these? Just think...you could have gotten 25 people in for only $150.00...today that's what 5 Fast Lane passes cost. (And yes I know that the 1974 prices are not adjusted for inflation...i'm trying to make a joke here!) So, hopefully more than two people on this board enjoyed this "brochure".

  11. Or, perhaps more on point, like having a 12 year old Mustang that's had a lot of issues in the past, been involved in several injury accidents--some of which caused lawsuits-one of which you lost, and though the state says it's okay to drive the car--at least it did a couple of years back--the spouse is unhappy with the ride experience. Before it can be driven again, at least some assurances are necessary that it is roadworthy and comfortable. Where the analogy fails is the Mustang can be sold or junked quite easily. Reasonable substitutes are also easily acquired on the open market should you decide to replace the Ford. Dealers even take trade-ins.

  12. Why do they need to? It's not costing them anything. The only people who care, post on here and will come to the park anyways. Until they have something to put there, why spend a lot of money to bring it down?

  13. There will be higher quality food choices this year, including fresh never frozen hamburgers in three locations, philly cheese steaks and all-beef hotdogs at Snake Pit, gluten free pizza at LaRosa's, and burritos, burrito bowls, tacos and nachos at Outer Hanks. Items like pretzels and funnel cakes will be higher quality, too.
