A new member politely asks a question... And you all respond by attacking him or complaining about a small spelling error? Great way to welcome people to the site guys.4 points

Return of the Phantom Theater would be awesome, but an arrow points in a different direction for Phantoms Revenge.3 points

Nearly all of The Tomb Raider props were removed for a reason. Not just because they didn't suit The Crypt. Put them back and things could get interesting, exciting (for IP types), and probably costly. To put it mildly.2 points

"WAY" too early? Like "SoB" said, Its never too early to start talking about The Haunt2 points

It was used a lot, before somebody decided not to maintain it, to take out the attractions, and then convert it to a smoking area. Of all things.2 points

This is one of the most sad photos in this thread. Mainly because if you saw this photo now you would see no water, no Wayne's World and you would probably see someone smoking with a sign that says designated smoking area. I still find that area of the park peaceful though, nice place to go grab a drink and sit there and unwind.2 points

It's not near GWL. If coming from the north, take KI Drive all the way past KI down to the light at Western Row Road (I-71 ramps will be directly across from you). Turn left there and take the driveway immediately on the left. The driveway will take you around the Soak City entrance, before forking. Take the fork to the left and you will be in the employee parking lot. Human Resources is at the north end of employee parking near VIP parking (which is sandwiched between employee and handicap parking). If coming from the south, take I-71 exit 24, turn right and the driveway will be immediately on the left. Follow the instructions above.1 point

No. Take Kings Island Dr. all the way to Western Row. Turn Left. Or Get off of 71 at Western Row. Turn right. After you turn onto Western Row, at the first light, turn left onto Columbia Rd. Park in the parking lot, and go to Human Resources. If you were looking at the front gate, it'll be to the right of that. It has an awning on it.1 point

^ Try the steps I listed in post #20 of this thread. I've tested them, and they've worked for several other people. The steps are easier if you use Firefox, as it "pretty prints" the source code by default. Once you fix it on any browser, it will work properly on all browsers and devices. Alternatively, an admin (Dane or BoddaH1994) can fix it for you manually.1 point

I think more than anything else at an amusement park, Halloween events are truly a case where "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Everybody has different expectations, as well as different preferences for intensity, gore, and the like. In 2011, my group of five were discussing favorites at the end of the night; everybody had a different favorite, and some people's favorite mazes were another person's worst maze. Even the exact night you go can greatly color your view as crowd sizes can vary wildly depending on weather and are far heavier on Saturdays then Fridays. In 2012, we had off and on rain all night on a Friday, and the park was dead to the point that most mazes were walk-ons, leaving us happy that could do them all with plenty of extra time. Somehow, I doubt the people that visited eight days later on the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend had the same experience.1 point

Physical exertion has nothing to do with it. It's the lack of anything to keep us occupied on the way back that is the problem.1 point

Well, usually tried and true. I was thinking more along the lines of Diamondback, and how the chain is starting to turn away from Intamin.1 point

Perhaps for the same reasons it hasn't sold? This isn't Roller Coaster Tycoon.1 point

And coaster manufacturers, coaster designers and coaster marketers typically manufacture, design and market coasters They do not typically do theming. I had reasons for reviving this thread. Very good reasons. Then it went down a different path. Must have been a .... diversion.1 point

Its amazing how much the trees filled in over a period of twenty years! I still miss the peacefulness of all those trees in the center of the park. Of course the biggest travesty is that we also lost our Flying Eagles ride the season that Backlot opened.1 point

You fanboys complain about the supposed long walk to Flightdeck yet you walk around a big ass amusement park all day?1 point

Never thought I'd have a use for this picture... (Taken while leaning against WindSeeker's fence.) Easy: anything in Rivertown. Hard: a photo taken on closing day. Expert: a photo of mid-deconstruction Son of Beast taken on closing day.1 point

I love how on the website it says "you'd never know by looking at it, but Woodstock Gliders is over 70 years old!" I want to say "you'd never know by looking at it, but that ride belongs to Kings Island!"1 point

Park Services is an underappreciated department. The sweeps are, in my opinion, among the most important staff in ensuring a good experience at the park, as there's nothing as bad as walking around in a dirty place IMO. And I am thankful for them that real life isn't like RollerCoaster Tycoon, where every other guest pukes after getting off the kiddie rides. I don't usually have sympathy for fictional characters, but man those RCT handymen have it rough.1 point

You were made to say "all clear" and "how was your ride" every 2 minutes for 50 hours a week? Lol, I'm sure that wont ever get old. Dont get me wrong, working in rides was a great time, but its the people that make it. If you build the actual work up in your mind, you're going to be let down very fast. Face it, 8+ hours a day outside in the summer repeating the same motion over and over; it will get old fast. Still if you make friends and get close to your colleagues , you will have a good time. Some of my best friends still are from when I worked at KI, and I've been gone for 5 years. Also just fyi, the driver position on a ride is a big responsibility. New hires typically are not trained there until at least mid season, if they even get trained there at all. It's not uncommon for someone to never get driver trained in their first year, especially if they're under 18. It's a position you have to prove you're ready for. If you're driving and something goes wrong, it's on you, and you HAVE to know how to respond.1 point
