Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees
DiamondBanshee replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
^See Diamondback and Banshee. KI hasn't done the two color track, even though I'd love that. (Also, see Valravn and Leviathon, and even Rougarou. Cedar Fair does two color track, but not every time) Ride Thunderbird, then ride Gatekeeper. If it is a Wing Coaster, I hope it's a launched one because the launched one is amazing, while the "Tallest, fastest, and longest" is... mehSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Ugh... DB, hoping either it is not a wing coaster, or that that wing track is going overseas Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

^Worlds tallest, fastest, longest coaster, an inverted, stand-up, floorless, wooden giga named Steel Mother-in-Law of The Beast!!! *There may or may not be a little sarcasm in this post... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

No injury was life-threatening, no, but drowning was a possibility. As was stated, thanks to the bystanders, the passengers happened to get out unscathed, but if the same bystanders did not help, and the passengers had to wait, say, 5 more minutes, they could have all sustained serious injuries to their lungs and brains, or worse (that is, if the boat was submerged or caused the passengers to be submerged. Could somebody please verify either way?). Still, it was a very serious incident that turned out to be a minor incident due to the good Samaritans that jumped in and helped immediately instead of succumbing to the Bystander effect Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
New Skywheel at Newport on the Levee?
DiamondBanshee replied to Hoeter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Hopefully if this is successful, they decide to make a little boardwalk with a few rides. Honestly, if they add a few classic rides, a Drop Tower, and maybe a Gerstlauer Eurofighter, I could see it doing very well, as it is in a central location. Plus, it would be a hit to people that do not want to pay too much for KI, but want some better rides than Coney. It's just a dream, but it's not an outrageous one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

^ I had the same feeling on Mille. It's not a bad ride by any means, but it is so overrated that I was disappointed after riding it. I have never ridden any other giga, but they all sound better than Mille from what I've heard. Honestly, Maverick is the best ride at CP because of how intense it is. I know I305 is incredibly intense, from what I've heard. Do Levi and especially Fury compare in intensity? Also, I love airtime, but if we were to get a giga, I'd prefer it has ejector airtime, as DB is all about floater. Plus, the ejector airtime on the Voyage blew me away, so I'd like if the ejector airtime would compare to that out of control, intense experience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Even if it is legal, I personally would not do it. If something were to happen, there would be lawsuits for ages and a pretty large chunk of change taken from your wallet. Do what you want, but there are to many risks and not enough rewards. Plus, we'll learn soon enough, so why even have a little risk? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Anybody happen to have the list of what Cedar Fair will invest in for the next few years? (Like the one that had "Major Attractions," etc.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

^Agreed. I think KI would need a family coaster and a Multi-launch coaster to be comparable to CP, in addition to a giga. After that, if KI got a GCI or RMC, it would have a stronger lineup than CP Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

If any of you were wondering, here is what a Splintercat looks like, this here is one majestic beast: Courtesy of http://weirdanimalreport.com/article/elusive-splintercatwhere there is a nice little article about it as well AND how to catch one for all your Splintercat needs! Awesome research and decoding, but the name doesn't really roll off the tongue. I know Rougarou will be brought up, as will Valravn, but at least they are a little bit cooler than "Splintercat." It sounds like a tiger that stepped on a stick. Just my preference though, and honestly I could see that as a big possibility. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

@TombRaiderFTW I agree with you, but do not single out anybody in particular as many people are doing it. No disrespect to anybody here, but if you've read the full topic, you'd see why people are acting this way towards certain other members, as they were the ones that started acting in said way. Please take EVERYTHING into account when making a statement like this. I understand that you said that multiple people have been doing it as well, but please also single them out or it seems as though you are taking sides here, which does not roll over well with others here. Sorry for this mini rant but I thought what was said needed to be said Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Honestly, if KI gets a giga, a blitz, and a few thrill rides, I'd argue it would be better than CP. I love CP, but Banshee, Diamondback, and The Beast blow away Raptor, Magnum, and Mean Streak. Millennium Force and Maverick are 2 great coasters that KI can't compare to... yet. From what I've heard, B&M gigas blow away Mille, and KI will most likely get one in the near future, if not next. A Mack launch coaster is comparable to Mav. Add a screaming swing, another flat, and maybe a wild mouse, and KI is one of the best parks in the planet. (It already is a world class park, don't get me wrong, it just would be better with a few additions) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

If this was true, it really isn't much of a hint. It could be "Longest and fastest wing coaster," Tallest and fastest wooden coaster," "Longest and fastest giga coaster," "Tallest and fastest coaster in the park," etc. in fact, it could be referring to the longest and fastest kiddie coaster, or even the shortest and fastest route to Kings Island. Although it is a nice teaser to keep people talking about the project, I wouldn't look much into it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Voyage rough? Today I thought it was smooth for a wooden coaster. Aggressive? Very. Rough? Not more than a normal wooden. I mean, I could have ridden it on a great day and you could have ridden on a terrible day, but still, I'd have to argue its smoother than The Racer. I, a spritely young teenager, cannot ride it unless I get a center seat because of the jack hammering. It is unbearable for me and I have to wait a while to even get on another ride. As for the two CCI coasters, the Legend was pretty smooth, probably due to retracking, while the Raven was rougher than the rest, but not unbearable. I'd say these smooth rides are due in part to upkeep by the park itself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I thought HW was great today. Only problem I had was that one train voyage thing. However, after the second train was added, I walked on a couple more times. In fact, I got on the very last ride of the night on the voyage, in the front right seat, having the whole front car to myself [emoji12]. It felt like I was alone and was insane! Could GCI possibly make a coaster like The Voyage/if the can, would they? Also, Thunderbird is great as well. I hope B&M does more launched coasters as I thought the launch was great as it was sort of drawn out, pretty intense, and incredibly quiet. Thunderbird is much better than Gatekeeper in my opinion.
