  1. ^Thanks! Your dad made the 3 hour line seem so much shorter haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I was in the same boat. At around 9 though I was just like "eh, might as well." It was about 3 hours (downtime included) before we got on. Along the way we met a really nice gentleman who knew a lot about roller coasters and it was an absolute blast taking to him throughout the wait. It was about 11:30 when we finally got on. I was lucky enough to get first row with my newly acquired friend. Mystic Timbers was amazing. We were flying through the layout with no letting up, smoothly whipping from side to side and flying out of our seat. To me it felt like a miniature Voyage. So far this is my second favorite woodie (though this may change over the weekend with the additions of (hopefully) Lightning Rod and Thunderhead). Overall, I think KI hit a grand slam with MT. It's a great ride for coaster lovers and newer riders alike. As for the shed, I got the "Total Eclipse of the Heart" experience and I was laughing the whole time! I thought it was absolutely hilarious (then I got a surprise that scared me a little but I still enjoyed it). It was less than I expected, but in the same way, more than I expected. Honestly the only way it would have been better was if they Rick-rolled us. Still, the main takeaway is that you shouldn't expect anything mindshattering. Just expect an extra little thing at the end of an amazing ride. Also, to all those haters, would you rather sit on a brake run or have the shed, regardless of it met your expectations? Overall, 9.5 out of 10, possibly the best ride at KI (still have to mull it over), definitely the best woodie at KI. I can't wait to marathon this and Diamondback together over the summer. Two great airtime machines with different types of airtime (It seems like I got my wish for a coaster with some more ejector airtime!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. So the time has come for me to leave this thread until after Friday night. Goodbye for now everyone. Hopefully Mystic Timbers will knock our socks off! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. ^Heard employees? Yeah. A worker on Vortex told me that he thought the new coaster (Eventually Banshee) would either be a giga or invert. Most employees seem to know no more than you or higher. As for higher ups, I personally have never heard of a giga hinted at, but I could have missed something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I feel like it will be really tough to tell which coaster is the best at the park now. Beast is a legend with phenomenal night rides, Banshee is one of the best inverts there is (to most people anyway), Diamondback is arguable the best B&M hyper, and Mystic Timbers looks to be one of the best GCIs. Each coaster gives such a different experience it'll be almost impossible to compare them! The good thing about this is there are now 4 great coasters at the park that can all have a leg in the race for best. Some parks don't even have a single coaster or only have one that could be comparable to these four! TBH, Cedar Fair has done a great job with KI since taking over. Three world class coasters with the high probability of more in the future, not to mention all the other great attractions and overall improvements to the park! The only downside was the closing of SoB, but there really was no way around it [emoji22]. Hopefully MT will help fill the void left in my heart Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I believe most rides contain the strobe light warning because of, as Magenta Lizard stated, the on-ride photos. Though there may be lighting effects in the shed, this doesn't hint much towards it imo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Back to gigas, what elements do you think we boule potentially see on the giga? Low to the ground turns like I305 or more hills and overbanks like Fury? In addition, what elements would you like to see? Personally (assuming it will be B&M) they will keep it like fury instead of trying the Intamin route because, as the saying goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It's been told in legends, "To those who art so rude as to spoil What's in the Shed, according to a mystic being, 'Now you will pay!'" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. ^I don't see this as much of a hint as nearly all coasters give a different experience on whether one sits in the front of the train or the back (see Diamondback, Beast, Banshee, etc.) and the same goes for day and night. However, I believe a difference in what will happen in the shed during the day and at night has already been hinted at and discussed in this thread, so it would not surprise me if the same is true for position on the train Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. The operators. Apparently they overrode safety control system with the proper protocols. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. ^I feel like I've heard somewhere that the coaster is ready a couple years in advance, as in they plan for however long they need and once they're finished, the still have a few years to get everything prepared. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. ^It looks like there are 12 rows of 2 people, plus the lead car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I played around with with a picture of the test run train and... Idk but it looks like a red maroon-color to me. Perhaps red, blue, and green fronts? Yellow? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. ^Also on Snapchat DB, beat to the punch by mere seconds Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. ^I noticed and was wondering that too. Perhaps there's a reason but I can't think of one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. 2017 Park map is out! Here's Mystic Timbers (Photo from Kings Island's website) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I love the secrecy behind this whole thing! It's great that KI wants to keep all of us out of the know with anything about it. It really adds to the overall suspense and excitement of MT! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Random question, but when Kings Island releases the pov the day or two before MT opens, do you think they will end it before the shed with the vines growing over it like in the animated pov? If so, would they release a second pov after it's opened? The only reason I think they might do this is because certain YouTube accounts/forums will be begging for a pov asap and once they get it on media day, they'll put it up asap. The only other thing I can think of is a non disclosure agreement, but I'm not completely sure if this would even be applicable in this case. Regardless, I'm not going to watch the actual pov (which I also did with Banshee). Honestly the best coaster experiences, at least for me, are those that are unexpected. That's why Voyage and Maverick are my one and two, respectively. The surprise is the best part of your first ride! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. ^Overall though, Kings Island seems to have fairly good theming. Obviously not on the level of Disney or Busch, but compared to most other Cedar Fair and Six Flags parks, it's pretty good. Plus it's not all from the times of Paramount, as we can see with Banshee and Mystic Timbers. Hopefully this kickstarts a chain of new rides with pretty good theming around Cedar Fair, as well as refurbishment of the theming of older rides such as Adventure Express and BLSC whose theming is just a bit... weathered Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. ^Thats why you test it on the lift hill lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Intamin trademark the term "Giga Coaster"? Because doesn't B&M refer to their gigas as part of the hyper model? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. ^I really hope so. That would be such a neat gimmick to get people to reride it imo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. ^I thought it was technically considered a giga because it is between 300' and 399' Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. ^Isn't the new Ferrari Land launch coaster a giga? Also, in terms of conventional chainlift, I believe Kings Island's will be taller. It's easier to advertise if it's the tallest, even if it's only by a few feet. To the average person "The Tallest Giga Coaster in the Americas" is more appealing than "Tallest Giga Coaster in the Midwest" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I think I'd prefer a multilaunch behind the Crypt building. Seeing it dart above and below the trees would be a sight to see. Plus it could be designed so that it doesn't take much away from Beast's isolation. I feel like a massive giga would just loom over there, making The Beast feel small and in the middle of the park *Edit* I'm not saying Kings Island should get both, in just saying that if I had a choice, I'd rather have a multilaunch back there. I wouldn't complain if a giga was back there though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
