  1. DB is about 30 still but is stacking quite a bit. MT is about 20. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. ^No, I believe that happened four hours ago. DB, who just couldn’t resist Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. How busy is the park overall? I’m thinking about making a trip up later if it’s empty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. ^I’m pretty upset about it because I was next in line. I’m kind of surprised how it was a complete E-stop into a closure. I understand BLSC and TTD are two different beasts entirely but I assumed it would just reset and relaunch like TTD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Little over a day until pass holder preview! Anyone else think this off season seemed quicker than usual? (I know we had winter fest this year but still, the off-season seemed to fly by!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. ^Yes but that’s 2000-era Intamin. Looking at Intamin most recent giga, I305, as well as other recent US Intamins, it’s pretty clear that B&M is the better choice in terms of what Cedar Fair wants Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. For those asking, yes it is drone footage. As for the legality of it, that’s a mess that’s not even worth arguing about. Idk about Canada but in the US there is way to actually limit a drone from flying if a number of rules are not broken. For example, a park can prohibit drones in their grounds but not actually the airspace above it as it is controlled by the FAA. Of course there are a lot of rules that must be followed, such as no flying over crowds, etc. but if the person were to take off from an area outside the property, with permission from the local airport, etc. there is really no law they are breaking for flying the drone. Again, I’m not sure about the laws in Canada and there’s a lot more stuff to consider but like I said, this is an extremely polarizing topic that would be best left alone. 8. I honestly really enjoyed what was in the shed. While it wasn’t a crazy element I really wasn’t expected it. It was fun to speculate what they could’ve done in there but for what it is, it’s a fun little extra at the end of an amazing coaster! While I agree part of it was KI overhyping it, it was also our fault for overhyping it. If KI just went with “What’s in the shed?” and we didn’t pay much attention to it, I think the more people would have liked it more. However, due to our ideas of what it could be, we were saddened when it was pretty much exactly what it should be. It’s much like in a horror movie when something isn’t shown: you start imagining what could happen/what is happening and you freak yourself out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. With B&M track spotted at Canada’s Wonderland, assuming this is for a new coaster in 2019, does this change your mind about when KI could most likely get a new coaster (i.e. if you thought KI would get a Coaster in 2019 do you now think it’ll be a different year?)? 11. I always hear comments about how ugly the main entrance is and I kind of agree. Imo it does need a “face lift” but I don’t think it needs to CP or Carowinds makeover. Just making it more pleasing to the eye would be great as at the moment it looks like it’s stuck in the past. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I saw on Instagram that Canada’s Wonderland filed for a permit to build I new coaster. I don’t have to picture personally, but if someone could find it and post it here that’d be great. I’m not 100% sure of its validity as I don’t understand these permits that much. If this were to be true, how do you think this would affect the prospect of a 2019 giga at Kings Island? Personally I think if this were the case, Kings Island would most likely get a giga in 2020 instead of 2019. Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. SoB was just a whole disaster, from the manufacturer to PKI. I have no doubt in my mind that if CF owned the park at this time they would have gotten a better manufacturer (I’d say Intamin) and they would not have done a “patch job.” In all honesty, I could see RMC going over 300’... eventually. Rushing is not a good choice. This probably will not happen by the time Kings Island will most likely be ready to get a giga, though we never know. We just have to wait and see where they go and how wooden coasters continue to advance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. The real question is whether it’ll be put back into the snow after this weekend or not... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. ^ Proof for either? I’m all for speculation, but please do not say “Don did this” or “No full time workers did this” without having proof of either. These unsubstantiated claims not only cause confusion but fighting in these threads as we saw with the Mystic Timbers speculation thread. It was very hostile with people making claims like this, so unless you know for certain, and have proof of what you say, please put something along the lines of “I believe...” or “I think...” DB, trying to help to avoid the “cowboy coaster” and “RMC confirmed” catastrophes of 2016. 16. For the whole “Airtime vs. Twister layout,” it depends on the manufacturer. Intamin seems to be mostly about intensity and speed. I’ve only ridden Millennium Force of the two but it seems like it was built for speed. Yes there are a few pops of airtime but it’s really just a long layout, fairly low to the ground so you can feel how fast you are going. Same goes for I305 based off reviews and POVs. Morgan (just putting this in here because they did build one) seems to be focused mainly on airtime and length, not as much on the speed and intensity. B&M is a mix. Leviathan seems to be mostly airtime based having large floatjector hills as well as small ejector hills. Fury is different. While it may not look airtime based, after riding it I can say it has way more airtime than you think. All those banked turns (excluding the first right after the drop) give absolutely insane lateral airtime. You just get absolutely thrown sideways out of your seat on every twist and at the top of the treble clef which is absolutely insane. On top of that the drop gives a strange floater-like freefalling sensation while the last three hills give pretty strong ejector airtime. So far Fury seems like the most well rounded and complete giga of the bunch, seemingly combining every aspect of the others, speed, length, intensity, and airtime, amazingly. Assuming B&M would be the manufacturer to build a giga if KI gets one, they would probably take from Fury and perfect it even more as they did with Fury from Leviathon. And honestly, it doesn’t matter what type of layout it is. I believe that B&M would be able to make a twister layout have strong airtime and an airtime layout be relatively twisty, as with Fury. If KI does get a giga, I hope B&M designs it because, with the terrain and success of Fury, I believe it would be one of the best coasters in the world, right up there with Voyage, Lightning Rod, Fury, GeForce, and all those. 17. I somewhat agree with the “dead end” aspect but I also disagree to an extent. While yes this area is a dead end it would be great to put something back by The Bat because although I love it, it’s such a trek to get back to ride it. It was great when SoB was back there too because you had choices. I would usually go to Bat (Top Gun) then go straight to SoB. While I do think Banshee helps in getting people back there, it still doesn’t seem like enough because you still have to walk so much more to get to Bat, the only thing back there. Another “people eater” back there would definitely be awesome imo but I just don’t see enough space for a coaster. For the time being I think that area should be left alone and if/when the giga comes, it should go somewhere in or around Coney mall to help alleviate the congestion that is Beast, Diamondback, and MT. 18. ^^Considering the person in questions is the head of PR at KI I believe it very likely this person would check on these forums if there is potentially a teaser. Also considering that there have been teasers alluding to people on this forum (for Banshee), and that this man has posted and responded to questions and quotes multiple times on this forum it is all very likely that he, as well as others know. If RMC was put in the snow I think we’d have a few old faces come back to rave about how much better RMC is than GCI and that the next coaster will DEFINITELY be either an RMC or like that “cowboy coaster” at Cedar Point [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. ^Because it is a fact that multiple KI employees (many know who I’m talking about in particular) have accounts including some who are fairly high up at KI Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. (Edit: this was a reply to a now deleted comment) ^As you mentioned, ROI is the top priority of the park. Would a $30 million giga coaster bring in more people or would a new layer of blacktop. While I agree it would be incredible to have a Busch Gardens experience at KI (I’ve never been to any Busch park but have been told it’s wonderful) it most likely will not happen. That would require a total rehauling of a park which has taken decades to come to what it is now. Could it be done though? Yes. Will it be done? Probably not. Cedar Fair is more about big thrills than scenery. Amusement parks, not theme parks is what CF is going for. I feel like the closest thing KI will get to Busch Gardens would be if CF takes it back to the days of old, classic KI. Looking at the park now compared to the paramount era it actually seems that is the direction CF is going. Instrumental music on international, a fairly well themed coaster with MT, Winterfest making a comeback, and even past attractions making a comeback, such as the new “flying eagles” and potentially (though obviously not confirmed) old time cars. CF obviously has a plan for KI considering that it has received multiple big attractions in recent years and that KI makes some of the most money in the chain. Though nobody truly knows what this plan is, I for one think they are building KI up to potentially be the new CP or at least a “Co-CP.” It’s obvious CP is limited on space. Though they are working with what they have, and are doing so incredibly well, it’s only a matter of time. Building a well established park into a world class theme park destination seems to be the way they are heading for KI and coasters are the best way to do so, especially for GP. That’s just my two cents on the matter. DB, going back into hibernation for the offseason. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. ^Thats like saying “The Reds aren’t in the playoffs but don’t count down to opening day until after the World Series.” Yes the best are still in it (like Mystic Timbers (that’s my own opinion)) but I still want to ride other coasters, like I want to watch the Reds. Yes I will ride MT and enjoy it immensely but I’m still counting down the days until I can ride Diamondback, Banshee, Beast, and all the other rides and coasters not open. 22. ^Yes it could drive up the cost but working with terrain could also make it cheaper. If it used the terrain it can drop much lower than it rises making it cost less. In addition if it rises with the hills that’ll cut cost even more! Lightning Rod does this to perfection. Plus, we haven’t seen a terrain giga yet. If one were to be built, Kings Island would be one of the most likely places for it because it has some terrain! If done right, in my opinion, a terrain giga could potentially be one of he best coasters in the world! Not to mention it would look incredible, only being able to see the peaks of an absolutely massive roller coaster! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. 164 days... that’s terrible to think about Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Current wait time for Kings Islands Giga: 1.5+ years... Somebody HAD to do it! DB, being that somebody who did it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. ^I’ll take that and one up you with Mavericks fast line spilling onto the path! (Cedar Point is pretty crowded today) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
